I knew this was going to happen, but I had to do it anyway!

Hi everyone,
I’ve just been TOO busy to get my Ruby Red Fashion Friends swimsuits listed on Ebay… and decided I ABSOLUTELY could NOT wait any longer, so I spent my day finishing up a few, taking pictures and getting them FINALLY listed on Etsy. It was the easiest way to get them out there. Etsy can print out my label if I sell something and I’m offering Buy Three, get the 4th one FREE! I know I should have had them made and listed 2 months ago, but that’s not the way my life went back then.
One thing about it, if they don’t all sell, they’ll keep, and I’ll have a nice head start on next summer’s suits! YAY!

Since this took up my day, and I didn’t work on anything else, I thought I’d show you a few new ones hot off the press! :o)

I’ll add the link to my Etsy show down below…

This swimsuit looks so pretty on Stella… I wish this swim suit had been a little bigger. I’m not sure if I got 2 or just one cut out of this child’s suit… don’t you like it?

This was another print that worked so well for the Ruby Red’s… it’s small, dainty and very nice colors…

Here is another one out of the same print… but I added a silver buckle to the front waist of this one. Freida enjoyed modeling this one.
You can see how the suits fit around the legs since I started using small elastic.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the print in this swimsuit! It is so bright and colorful! It actually reminds me of one of those adult coloring books that you can color whatever colors you want. I wanted to show you how the suits fit the Wellie Wishers too.

Here is my Etsy shop if you’d like to take a peek!

Well, it’s time to get to bed now…
I’ll see you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Congrats on getting some suits listed, and new ones made, too.

That first print would be very versatile as you could change the look of the suit by how you placed the pattern on the fabric. Do we want the orange part on top, or the purple? and so on.

However, my favorite is the second one, in the little floral print. It reminds me a bit of that one I made, which I talked about.

Sarah has now been moved to a regular hospital room, so she is making good progress. Thanks, everyone, for the prayers.

Yesterday my son was here to mow, and to help me go thru and pack up some of Ron’s clothes. We went emptied one dresser, mostly t-shirts and some sweatshirts. After that, I turned to he closet, and that’s where I had to stop. I started to cry. Considering the emotional roller coaster of this past week with Sarah so seriously ill, and it being close to the one-year anniversary of Ron’s death, I guess it’s not surprising.

Anyway, I had earlier bagged up underwear and socks, so in all we took five bags to the Everett Gospel Mission yesterday afternoon. They can’t use dressy clothes, but things like t-shirts and work pants are welcome.

Tomorrow I’m meeting two friends to go fabric shopping. I’ve been teaching Leah (in my church) how to sew. She finished her apron last month, and her next project is to be a skirt. She has a natural affinity for sewing, and is just so excited each time she gets another part of the garment finished! It’s a real joy to have a “student” like that!!

    1. Oh Charlotte, I always enjoy reading what is in your heart and on your mind. You did a difficult thing yesterday, I know it. With parents, you usually have siblings and it is easier to let go of things early on. But I still have some of my daddys shirts and also moms hand made dresses. You were brave.
I am glad you are shopping today.

Thank you, Rosemary. I still have the closet to go thru, and the things he had at the Adult Family Home (clothes and personal items), but it’s not a big hurry to get things done, so I am pacing myself.

With my parents’ stuff, I did about 95% of it (the entire House, not just clothes); when my brother came to help, and commented on how. much. stuff. there was, I told him, you are seeing a very tiny drop in a very big bucket!! He had the grace to look a little embarrassed. And it’s just the two of us, no other siblings to help.

I still have my dad’s ties, and 3 or 4 of his clerical stoles, which I just couldn’t part with. Of mom’s, I have her wonderful 1950s coat with bracelet-length sleeves and enormous buttons. No, it doesn’t fit (she was about a foot taller than I, as I am very short), but I love that coat and can’t bear to part with it!!

So fun to help someone to learn to sew, Charlotte. I had a twice month dear maid back when I was teaching. She asked me to teach her how to make a dress. She wanted a white silk dress for church. She brought the fabric and a pattern and we had so much fun. It turned out really well. She decided to get her own machine after that and made more dresses herself.

We will be gone all day to be with some of Peyton’s family. His family has a membership in a hunting/fishing camp on a river 30 miles from our house. This is a yearly affair. We used to go for several days, but now we just go for one day. We leave the room for the others now, and go home to our own bed.
Y’all have a good day, Talk to you tonight.

I love the new suits, Jeanne!

    1. Charlotte, so happy for Sarah! She’s on to a better healthier life!!!
Thank you for keeping us updated.

      1. Sorry Sissy- I meant this to land under Charlotte’s name.
But, hello to you ! Have a great day at the camp!!

What pretty new swimsuits, Jeanne, and just in the nock of time too! Most of the pools around here will be closing soon, right after Labor Day, but of course anyone living by the ocean or a lake, or even having their own pool doesn’t have to worry about that!

Although all my dolls are now finished with swimming, when Sara gets her new swimsuit that I won, of course, she will wear it to “show off” ! I’ll send a picture.

That’s great that you got all those darling swimsuits listed on Etsy! While going tnrough your Etsy listings, I didn’t realize you still had other things there too!

  4. Jeanne, these suits are precious. I love them. The girls look so cute with their fancy poses too. Just adorable. They will sell in a flash

I hope every one has a happy day today. I am going to my new “craft and chat” meeting, it is a small group but very nice sweet new friends.

I will have to leave early though, and go get a mammogram 🫤. I scheduled that appointment months ago so oh well.
Then I will come home and play around in my sewing room.

  5. More fun swimsuits! Fun in the sun!! The styles and pretty choices of fabric are great!
The girls look so cute in them.
I’ve been visiting my older sister in Indiana. We’ve had fun catching up with each other – more fun in person than through texting –
Today, errands, shopping and visiting my younger sister. I’ve missed them so much and it’s been wonderful being with them.

    1. HI Paula,
I hope you are having as much fun with your sisters as I had with mine! It’s SO nice to have sister time isn’t it?
      Blessings, Jeanne

What a fabulous way to start the day! Jeanne’s, swimsuits are adorable and since we hit 94 yesterday, perfect timing for a cooling dip for the Ruby Reds. We turned on our window AC to cool it down a bit from 85 inside. Nice and cool this morning though with the windows open all night, but another two days, I think, of high heat. No outdoor work for us, but we will be able to get in an early walk. This will be another day of watering a couple of times to keep the raised beds comfortable for the producing plants. I think that I need to pull out the Barbie pool from the garage so that the dolls can at least get their feet wet. 🙂
    Keep cool everyone.

Thanks for the mention of the people on FB that colorize photos, etc. I did know about that.

  7. 🤩one more chance for these little ones to jump in the pool before going back to school😉

  8. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, yeaaa, you did it! I am sure that the swimsuits will be snapped up very quickly.

I wanted to let you know that, as promised, I sent you copy and photos about the UFDC Convention for the Sofa Sisters to see. It looks like everything went through.

I really am amazed that we are on day 7 of August. Seriously, who stole Summer (laugh)?

    1. HI Dorothy,
I saw your emails to me, but haven’t opened them up yet. I was cooking dinner… thank you so much! I can’t wait to see them.
      Blessings, Jeanne
