~ PICNIC FUN ~ is now listed on Ebay…

Hi everyone,
I hope Linda and Joy don’t mind me squeezing Molly’s dress in here today. I finished it and then took some pictures and decided to go ahead and get it listed. The only think about it, and I forgot how large the American Girl dolls are… is, it’s hard to see everything in ONE picture. I mean, when I take a picture of Ten Ping, I can show her new outfit, the accessories and it’s easy to see everything. However, when I tried to take a picture of Molly, I had to get too far back to get her picnic basket with the blanket spread out and then show the little goodies in her basket. I didn’t really get any “good” pictures of the top half of her dress and the basket… but finally decided it is what it is… if anyone looks at the listing, they’ll SEE all the things in the many pictures I took.

The listing is on Ebay now and you can see it by clicking the picture at the right side bar or you can click HERE.

The dress turned out very cute and I hope everyone likes what they see, since it’s been listed already.

The sash around the waist is pre-tied… meaning you don’t have to tie that bow. I pre-tied the bow and then added the tails. When you slip it around your dolls waist, just match up the snaps in the back and you’ll be done. Be sure and pull the sash down in the front to cover the seam where the bodice meets the skirt. I added a little “accent” piece made from some die cut felt flowers. This piece slips on the “snap” end of the sash and just slides where you want it. If you don’t want it, just slide it around to the back and hide it under the bow. If you want to take it off and use it up by the neckline, as a “filler” or “brooch”, just remove it and somehow fasten it to the neck area with a pin or a piece of rolled up take.

I think this looks VERY 40-ish and was happy with the way it turned out. Here are a few pictures of it, but please check it out on Ebay if you haven’t already.

I found LOTS of little goodies to put in the picnic basket… but nothing to drink… apples, peaches, carrots, strawberries, grapes, etc. The things in the smaller basket are little erasers. I also fringed the edge of the red and white checked tablecloth.

Tomorrow we were supposed to go back up to Mount Vernon for one final visit with the doctor to go over my hubby’s last ultrasound. His PA called today and said the ultrasound looked good and there was no need to come up just to be told that. So WE ARE FREE and finished with all those surgeries! My hubby is seeing some progress and believes it will continue to get even better. YAY! and Thank you Lord! It seemed like a never ending parade of trips this Spring. We lost count after trip number 20, but we are thankful it was just a little over an hour away… it could have been 3 or more hours one way!

My hubby was trying to get his garden ready this afternoon. He’s doing it in those containers again… I didn’t get any pictures, but I will.

Well, I guess it’s time to decide who will be next for a dress. I’ll have to go see who is “wearing” the saddest looking face…

Rosemary, I hope your house inspection went well today. I know you must be tired, but when you get in your new house, you can hopefully relax and go at your own pace at setting up house.

Charlotte, your little sewing machine pictures, reminded me, I think I have one or 2 sewing machines for my dolls. I’ll have to go check that out.

Thanks everyone,
I’ll see you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

You must be feeling quite a bit better, Jeanne, as you “sound” much better today!

Molly’s outfit is just darling, and it’s fun to see some bright summery colors again after the last few outfits were all soft colors and pastels. Nothing wrong with that, of course–I love pastels–but this time of year one starts hankering for the bright colors of summer!

Oh, what GREAT news about George’s MRI results!! Thanking the Lord that that particular episode is over, and things are getting back to normal at your house!

Thank you everyone, for all the nice comments about my pictures. I did reply to each one of you, and answered some questions, too, if you’d like to go back and read my replies. Joy, I particularly answered something you wondered about!

Oh Jeanne, I would never think to get upset about you putting off my pictures! This is your blog, not mine, and I only send pictures to help you out when you have other things going on, or are under the weather. Don’t you worry about that!

Molly’s dress turned out so cute and colorful! Love the sash, and pretty bow in back! I wish more little girls would dress like this today, but at least we did way back when! I love the little felt flowers at the waist! Pretty slip and socks too, what’s not to like?

The picnic basket is full of yummy treats, and it looks like she just got finished picking fruit at a local farm! Thanks to having a kitchen for Molly, I have lots of food and drinks for a picnic, even some things I have made from sculpy clay. You ought to try your hand at that, since you excel in almost everything else!😊

So glad to hear the good news about George’s ultrasound, and that you are finally finished with your doctor visits!

Well, it sure sounds like Jeanne is getting better. I think we need an update though. 🙂 So glad that the last medical trip for George, wasn’t necessary either. And can’t wait to see what George plants this year. The raised beds here are ready, but nothing is planted yet. Guess I’ll have to stop pulling weeds and get on that. 🙂
Molly looks oh so sweet in her fruity dress and now with with lots of fruit to fill her baskets. Everything is just adorable. What a wonderful cheery outfit. 🙂
It was fairly cool here yesterday so I didn’t have to water, but I’ll need to get back at it today along with more fighting weeds. That will be after a few errands. We need more cat food. Of course. 🙂

Thanks Charlotte, for the Dazzle tips. I have a bunch of patterns for Riley, but I think she is larger. I’ll have to compare the girls. But great idea. There are also options for the Meadow tinies that might be a better fit, I think. And I just saw a pattern this morning for some shorts that I downloaded. I can always shrink one too, but it is always so much easier to just buy something made for that exact doll. I suspect that someone will come out with something in her size, hopefully. I forgot, I think Barbie’s Chelsea, may be a close size. And, I finally found time to open Dazzle’s box again and located the plastic zip envelope. I’d looked at it before to see the pattern, but missed seeing the precut dress. Thanks. Then, I read the instructions which seemed much clearer this time. At least I can make the straps, but not so sure how to sew that crazy shaped thing along the top. I’m going for the third read is the charm. 🙂 Thanks so much for your help, Charlotte.

  4. Beautiful outfit for Molly, I love it. This one will go very quickly, excellent photos too Jeanne.
I just really adore this fabric and the dress! Wow, very neat and tidy as usual. Sweet sash and the bow is just perfect!
I hope your road trip to the hospital is easy and comfortable. I think and hope you are improving Jeanne, I hope you are. Keep going slow, but moving forward is good.
I always forget to hydrate properly, so focus on that., I will too!!
Yesterday at the walk through with the builder supervisor and the home warranty guy went very well, it was 3 hours long! – no chairs either haha
I checked everything carefully, and the house looks superb. The lawn grading is concerning, but right now, I am focused on the front of the house and the supervisor has agreed that the hazards at the front walk need to be corrected. I mean, this is a 55+ neighborhood and the grading is miserable in many locations. I am not wild about lawn mower service with those large monster mowers, but we will see, perhaps with the neighbors we can agree on a private mower, like a local teen ager!
The house looks incredible. Fortunately, we are here at the old house and have no hurry or rush to clear out. however, that endeavor will be monumental. At some point I will have to dismantle some things I wish to have moved or mark them, Then also make that clear path for the charity company (did I tell you about Blue Ridge Hospice?) to collect the items for their shop. All in all, yesterday was absolutely exhausting. I made soup for dinner, we ate ice cream and I slept like a log last night.
I will go back to yesterday and read the comments I missed!!

Happy to hear another road trip for an ultrasound evaluation for George is not necessary. I know you are happy to have that phase of your lives over with. And it does sound like you are feeling better and your energy is picking up. Good to see that.

Molly’s ensemble is wonderful. I love her dress. The sash and bow are perfect. The outfit is so Molly. Her picnic basket is chock full of goodies and I know she will have a fun time at her outing.

I spent most of my day yesterday responding by email to two friends I have not chatted with in a while. So much news to catch them up on. Before I knew it the day was over, and I did not check in with the blog until late in the evening. I loved Charlotte’s pictures and did check out the video. It looks like you can still order Dazzle and I’m kicking that around but I got a notice yesterday of the Mori Lolli dolls and now I’m in the midst of a dilemma since I like all of them and Dazzle too. I’ve never had this problem before where my dolly fever has been so high. Don’t know of a fever reducer for this one that won’t cost me a bunch of money.

Rosemary, I’m glad your new home is meeting your expectations. I’m sure you were exhausted from a day spent totally on your feet. I know I would be. I think I would have been tempted to eat out. Even making soup sometimes seems like a lot of work.
But I did like the ice cream idea. What is the problem with the grading? Just curious. Living where I do grading is rarely a problem since everything is naturally flat and I often wish it weren’t so much so. I can’t imagine in a 55+ neighborhood they wouldn’t have given senior mobility some thought. Will it take a lot to fix the problem?

So far a nice sunny day here but we’re supposed to get storms later today. But then nothing in the way of precipitation for a few days and Saturday’s high is 75. We are actually having a spring this year and we’re almost to mid-May.
