“Birthday Fun,” for Ten Ping, is now listed on Ebay… YAY!

HI everyone,
My hubby had to do a sink faucet, dishwasher connection, and a garbage disposal job today… (actually it’s his 3rd day working there) so I took advantage of my time and worked to get Ten Ping’s outfit totally finished…snaps sewn on the back, the hat decorated, an accessory found, pictures taken and edited and then listed on Ebay! Yep… I did it! My hubby got home at 9:45 and was almost too pooped to eat dinner. Suffice it to say, he sat down in his recliner and he was out in 2 minutes!

If you want to see the new outfit for Ten Ping or Ruby Red Fashion Friends, Mini Sarah, Hanna, Bella, and others, click the picture at the right side bar or click HERE. I called it “Birthday Fun!”

Something is wrong when I try to upload any new pictures to my blog… I spoke to Sarah on Sunday about it and she said she would check it out as soon as she could. So I am only able to show pictures that I have already uploaded…hence not being able to show Ten Ping in her newly decorated hat. You’ll have to check it out on Ebay to see it. Sorry about that.

Well, that knocks me out of sharing any of my new pictures… and it won’t let me do it from my phone either… rats…

I guess I’ll have to cut this short… I’m having to take all my cobblering skills and try to fix a pair of my hubby’s leather dress shoes. I’ve started, but can’t load any pictures so I’ll just keep on working and then show you when I’m done…

Also, he asked if could possibly cover at least part of the seat on his riding lawn mower. The black, kind of hard plastic, has cracked and peeling, exposing the foam cushion and back section…and those cracked edges are sharp and are gouging him in the back when he mows. I’m trying to figure out the best way to do that…

Busy, busy, busy… yep, that’s me.

A few ladies mentioned how did I make the ribbon bows on Ten Ping’s shoulders stay put… and not stick straight out. It’s called Tacking! I just used a few tacks on the underside of the ribbons, being careful not to catch the top layer of the pink ribbon.

Well, I guess I’ll just quit now… I can’t load any pictures at all…

Oh, goodness, I just got a bid on Ten Ping’s dress set! Yay!
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Oh, what a beautiful outfit for the mini dolls, Jeanne. I just love everything about it!! That dress is particularly lovely. (I figured you tacked the bows in place. I’ve done things like that a number of times.)

I’m sorry you’re having some issues with posting pictures. Hope it’s an easy fix.

Today I helped my friend Leah with her sewing again; she hadn’t sewn in many years, and wanted to get back into it. Her first project is a bibbed apron with pockets; the bib, neckband and ties are all done, and today she sewed the pockets in place on the skirt. She’s doing a beautiful job, and seems to have a real knack for it. Each thing she accomplishes is so exciting for her!! It’s fun to have a “student” like that!! (I gave her “homework”, after showing her briefly how to do it–to press up and pin the hem of the skirt. If she feels confident about it, she may sew the hem in place, too.)

I meant to add, Elizabeth, thanks for the heads up on the MHD patterns for the Ruby Reds. I have a couple of hers for the Little Darlings, but hadn’t looked in a long time to see what she had. I feel an order coming on…..

I love Magalie’s patterns and have several of them for different dolls. I love their detail.

Oh, Jeanne, I know you are frustrated that you can’t make your photos work. The pictures on EBAY are darling, and what a fun birthday for Ten Ping! I hope your photos will get fixed by tomorrow, if not, we will still be here with you!
I know that George will be happy when you fix his shoes and his mowing seat. You both are such hard workers, just an amazing couple.
    Have a happy day, Y’all!

Oh y goodness, Jeanne, Ten Ping looks SO sweet in her new outfit, and with the decorated little hat! You did a wonderful job on that, and I see the added bow in the back too, along with the pretty bow on the hat! Yes, you have to look at the EBay listing, but we always do that, don’t we? So sorry you are having trouble with your pictures, but it’s always something, isn’t it, with this “wonderful” technology!

You are as busy as a busy bee, is all I can say! Good luck with fixing George’s shoes and the seat of the mower! Lucky George to have you to fix his shoes, since there aren’t that many shoe repair places around anymore.

  4. TenPing’s outfit looks so sweet. This is a precious dress, very well designed Jeanne!
The pictures on Ebay are well done.
I have not repaired shoes, but I have repaired belts! I am impressed, You could start a business…. oh, never mind. You already have a business and repairing human shoes is not a fun business haha haha
today is another rainy cloudy day. I slept like a log last night.
I brought a bunch of things to the house, then hubbs and I went to Lowes to look at washers and dryers (the sales people were honest and not pushy) for the new house, and also,
nice looking replacement outdoor lights for this old house. I found a nice pile of lights
so now I have to get moving …. well, get hubby moving on HOA applications for acceptance of lights. silly.
We really miss Miles Kitty here, but he is safe now. I am sad and glad, Princess our tiny cornish rex kitty is doing okay, she has a very tiny brain, and can not figure out what has changed. 😀
I wish all of you a happy lovely day

Congrats on getting Ten’s dress listed. It is very sweet. So sorry about the glitch with loading photos. I’m guessing that it is another WordPresss thing? So annoying. Have you contacted them, if that is the problem? Does WP have a FaceBook group where people can discuss problems? Curious.
So, I’d be contacting the mower manufacturer to find out how much a new comfort seat costs? Someone may even have one listed on Ebay. Who knows. I know you like to fix things, but sometimes, a new one is the answer. With your big yard, a plush new seat is warranted. Here, I’d probably tell other person to strap a pillow on the top of the seat. Ha ha. As to repairing shoes, during the depression, most simply stuffed cardboard inside the shoes and carried on. I’m sure that Jeanne will do a much better job. 🙂 Can’t wait to see photos.
Yesterday, other person and I had our Covid booster shots. Well, actually, the same as what we received last fall, but these should boost our immunity. In and out of the injection clinic in minutes. Not even sore today at all. Yay
While at Walmart to pick up cat food, I found some cute red/white very light weight tiny checked fabric. I want to try to make an outfit for little Dazzle. Of course, I had to buy a prepackaged piece with way more than I needed because they no longer sell yardage. Only fat quarters and half yard packages or more. I think the tiny checks will work for her. We’ll see. We were also looking for some artificial flowers for Memorial Day. but, there were not any, Looks like with the tariffs, they are going to be hard to find since their origin is China. I’m going to try the dollar store today, but I have my doubts.
Back to the weeds today. Never had a chance to work yesterday and they are all still there awaiting my gloves and trusty weed digger. 🙂

Dear Jeanne, I do not know how you can pack so many things into one day. It is just amazing!

I hope that you get the computer issue fixed soon.

There is only a tiny bit of May remaining and I am holding on tightly to the days that are still to come.

    Happy May!

Sorry you are having trouble loading pictures but I always check the eBay auction anyway so I can read the story and see all the pictures, which are great. I love this sweet little outfit and the game is great for a gift both for the winner and the person who is having the party Ten Ping is attending. The little hat is amazing. Those flowers must be really tiny.

I share Dorothy’s lament that May is almost over. It is already getting in the 90s here with high humidity. And many more months to go. May is the last month we can even hope for a cool day or two.

Barbara….It is 94 here today and I am near Austin…the middle of Texas. News is predicting 90’s for the following week too! I find that in Texas (compared to living in Northern Indiana) you have to do any watering/weeding/fertilizing of outdoor flowers/plants/ and bushes EARLY in the day! Even if you can be outside by 7:30 or 8 am, all the better. I’m a night-owl so sometimes its hard for me to get moving that early….I usually don’t eat breakfast first….just shower, get dressed, and get outside to start watering! Sprinkler system doesn’t water the plants and flowers on the covered front porch, and we planted two rose bushes out front this year, plus have three different colors of Gerbera Daisy’s on each side of the landscaped areas in front of the house. We discovered that Gerbera Daisy’s can tolerate the hours of sun and heat in Texas….Petunias not so much. It is really pleasant to be outside early in the morning especially if there is a balmy soft breeze swirling around! Indiana would often be so chilly in May that you didn’t think about planting flowers until almost the beginning of June!

Perhaps it’s partly that this outfit is so perfect for this hopeful season, but I keep feeling that it’s one of your best, and it sounds to me like everyone else is feeling the same way.

I love your prop for Ten Ping’s first picture.

I’m getting a sprinkler system and it looks like my yard has been attacked by moles from Jurassic Park. My neighbor had the same people put theirs in a couple of years ago and their yard recovered quickly. The water shut-off was in the crawl space and almost impossible to reach, so my dad moved it into the kitchen storage area where during the last 20 years it has been obscured by stored boxes and food, so uncovering it was fun, but done. This disease I have makes me a bit stiff, so today I’m a bit stiffer, but it’s going to be worth it. I just think of this as physical therapy. Growing older is not for the fainthearted, but it is a privilege.

Lol Marilyn My Dad got a card for his birthday when he was in his nineties. “Growing old is not so bad, it beats the alternative”.
