HI everyone,
I am still not quite myself… this cough has taken over my life it seems. Every night I go to bed, I hope and pray it goes away… so far, it’s sticking around…but maybe tomorrow it will be gone! One of these days I’ll get that surprise! :o)
I have been taking it easy as easy can be… my hubby has done the dishes, gone for groceries, bought me ice cream, rubbed my throat with some tube of something he bought (kind of like Vick’s), done the laundry (but he’s been doing it for years and years, so that one doesn’t count, he’s been quite the trooper and with NO complaining. BUT, I think he’s tired of the coughing too!
I just did something simple the last couple of days… I listed some things in my Etsy shop that didn’t require any energy. I just had to move pictures around. I hope you’ll check it out. I still have other things I’d like to get listed… but so far, that’s what it is.
I Dream of Jeanne Marie Etsy Shop
I’ve received quite a few emails from some of you and need to get this posted… so we’ll start with Susette’s newest dolls… I’ll let her tell you about Kiki… She’s SO pretty.
I’ve been busy this morning. Ready for a show? First box:
Kiki: That’s the wig on the left. On the right is a genuine pyrography! I had seen the FrUpdayte by Derf about the art but didn’t realize that there would be a real one included with the doll. You can see the indentation where the heated pen has affected the paper. What a nice surprise! The jacket frogs were buttoned and extremely difficult to undo. I was picturing not being able to get them bottoned again but it was a breeze with a tweezers that has a flat “point” and it was the easiest part of dressing her. The dolls are just beautifully designed and constructed.
Susette also sent some pictures of her newly acquired little DAZZLE doll…she’s only 5.5″ tall and that’s smaller than my Bailey by My Meadow. She came with lots of different accessories… including a SEWING MACHINE… Look at these…and see what Susette says about them.
I give up. I’m using the platform for the Asian scenes. These are for comparison of sizes of the dolls. Ten Ping on the left, Dazzle in the middle and Mini Sara on her scooter. Don’t ask how many times she fell over before deciding to ride her scooter!
They are all in their original outfits except for Ten Ping. I made her dress shortly after I got her. Can’t remember about the scooter but might be something I found on TEMU long ago.
Still from Susette…. here’s something really fun…
When I was in high school, my best friend’s father serviced these machines and they had one in their basement. Russell (a RRFF doll) is sure having fun with this AG one! (Susette, I think it’s the perfect scale for him… and he sure is cute!) (The pinball machine is actually from American Girl’s Julie’s collection…70’s!)
I thought I was buying a sweater for Russell when I bought it, but it’s a printed pattern on a soft flannelette fabric. They sure matched it up perfectly at the back as well as the sleeves. You know how it bothers me when patterns don’t match!
A little bit more from Susette…
I saw this post on Facebook on an RRFF Fan Club (Official) website. Of course, I had to find one if possible! Entering Flower Pot on Michael’s website didn’t work. So I looked at the post by Christina Marie again and added Fairy Garden to Flower Pot and there it was. Dashed right down to Michael’s and picked one up. It would be a good one for beginners with fairy gardens. That’s tiny Dazzle who’s checking it out.
Well, thank you Susette… I know lots of ladies will be scouring over your pictures to see all the details. Your new kids sure are cute! Thanks so much for sharing what’s happening at your house!
I have these ladies pictures waiting in the wings… stay tuned…
Rosemary, Charlotte, Linda and Joy
See everyone tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
I’m glad to hear you are starting to feel a bit better, Jeanne, and that George is taking such good care of you! Good, too, that you were able to get a few things listed in your Etsy shop. I’m wondering if those little hats would fit on our Dazzle dolls (it seems several of us got them)–perhaps you could measure the inner circumference (if you haven’t already–I just took a quick peek–to see if that might work for us.
Thanks, Susette, for sharing pictures with us. Your Kiki is lovely!!
I enjoyed seeing your display of your smaller dolls, too. So nice to have that kind of dedicated space where you an keep your dolls out on display so you can enjoy them every day.
Russell is just great–I have him, too–and the pinball machine is perfect with him. I expect he is becoming a real expert at pinball by now! His sweater is nice, too. Amazing that it’s not real knit, just printed on a base fabric, and yet it looks pretty and “real”!
Dazzle certainly looks cute on the fairy garden/flower pot! I wonder if she has planted anything there yet?!
Wow, Charlotte wrote first this Monday morning!
Susette, your pictures are wonderfully clear and full of such wonderful dolls plus the settings are perfect for Asian dolls! I love Kiki’s long, beautifully wavy hair! That’s amazing that a genuine pyrography was included with this set! Everything about this set is perfect, as is the darling little purse!
Your Dazzle doll looks so sweet with her little sewing machine! Now let’s see if she can see if she can sew!😉
Mini Sara is having a ball there on her bike, while Russell looks like he is doing what a lot of little boys love to do! That “sweater” is amazing!
The fairy garden flower pot is right up your alley, since you do have fairy gardens and also have a green thumb! I can’t wait to see what you do with it! Thank you for sending the picture, and Jeanne for showing them!
Jeanne, you are not alone in having a cough hang around. Yesterday at church, quite a few people were coughing, and I am finally getting over mine. Some are allergies, some colds and it always seems to happen during these days when the weather is turning from winter to spring. Cold one day and too warm the next, the all the rain! Hopefully, better days are ahead!
Hope you feel better soon!!
ugh, grubby germs. I hope this week you feel better and stronger every day. Keep “kinda” resting. I am going to pack some stuff today.
My sewing space is a disaster, I have not really packed anything.
Suzette, your dolls are so adorable. Kiki is beautiful, very elegant too.
The littles are so adorable, I love tiny dolls, all of these are so so cute.
Your scenes are beautifully put together, just precious.
Happy Monday everyone.
What a beautiful morning. Jeanne, is going to get better and Suzette’s dolls are fabulous. As to Jeanne, it’s been several days now on the antibiotics. I’m wondering if you might need something stronger. Perhaps, a call to the doctor is needed to discuss it. Were you given a prescription cough medication? Hope so. I know they work with bronchitis and stop that coughing almost immediately.
Loved seeing all of Suzette’s fun pictures. Kiki is such a cutie. And Russell in his perfect sweater that looks real is great. That pinball machine is fantastic. Wow, fun. The photo of the dolls showing comparison sizes is so helpful. Love tiny Sara on her scooter. She looks like a pro. Your Dazzle is adorable. The one here is waving. 🙂 So nice to see her accessories displayed too. She is a fun one. I’m still looking at that pattern she came with to make another dress for her. Not getting it quite yet. Did you make that sweet flowered dress for Dazzle? If so, what pattern did you use? It is so cute and perfect for fairy flower garden explorations. Thanks so much for sharing the great photos Suzette and Jeanne.
Looks like it’s going to be 84 here today. Better head out soon to do the watering. Not used to the heat yet at all.
Take care everyone and stay healthy.
Jeanne, so sorry you still have your cough. Have you had a chest x-ray? My friend’s husband is going through his second bout of pneumonia and her son just got over one. Once David had pneumonia and they were treating it with penicillin. Finally, when he was not getting better, they did a culture and discovered it was a penicillin-resistant strain, and the medication was doing no good. Then they put him on tetracycline, but it tore up his stomach. When his complaints were ignored by hospital staff, he had to call his doctor himself and was finally given Tagamet. The doctor switched him to Erythromycin and he went home the next day.
I love your pictures, Susette. Thanks, Jeanne, for sharing. Kiki is beautiful. I love little Dazzle. She is the cutest and the Fairy Garden flowerpot is adorable. I collect so many other things that I never got into Fairy Gardens, but my youngest sister has and I love to see her displays. Your oriental display is lovely, and you have the perfect dolls to enhance your scene.
I will finish up the basic dress for my RRFF mini “twins” today. The fabric is a lightweight small scale green and navy plaid, with a white collar. I love plaid and the dress would be perfect on its own even without the pinafore but the pinafore is why I chose the pattern so no backing out now. But I’m ready to go on to making something a little bigger so my next dresses will be for my two Sylvia Natterer dolls. They have been sorely neglected because their patterns are from Les Cheries de Vaniline and I have to add in the seam which takes time so I’ve tended to put them off. But now I’m getting tired of seeing them in the same dresses and they are so sweet and asked please.
The guys have started working on the new storage building today. It is a beautiful day and perfect for outdoor construction. The building from the front will look like a small bungalow house with a porch (for David’s grilling and a sitting area). The main part inside is for storage, which without the building we have none. The one end is going to be a potting shed and place for our lawn tractor and yard maintenance tools. It will have a garage door. The siding and roofing will match what’s on the house now. I can’t wait to see it finished. With developing the property we have reduced the area the house sits on to what I consider a manageable size for upkeep and a size that would appeal to a potential buyer at some point. I found that having a big piece of property is time-consuming and expensive but we bought it so David could have his sitework business where we could keep an eye on things having had things stolen when under the watch of others. Now it’s time for a new life adventure. Just wish we had thought of this about ten years ago.
What a wonderful of beauty today, Susette! If I were younger and would be on the RRFF line to get some of those adorable dolls. I love seeing all the sizes, the cute costumes, and all the extras. I love the garden too, it looks like the perfect size for that smallest one. Thank you so much for sharing.
Jeanne, we continue with prayers. I am so glad George is up for helping so much, and i hope you are getting lots of rest. Looking forward to the upcoming fun for more Sofa Galls.
Glad to hear that the doctor gave you a prescription for antibiotics but I agree with Joy. A second visit to insist on prescription cough medicine so you (and George) can get some rest. Maybe a second week of antibiotics. My ENT in Tennessee said we were not getting better after primary care or urgent care visit because 3 weeks of strong antibiotic is often necessary. Good luck, get better soon. Rick went for second opinion on vein treatment. Feeling better about the new provider. I hope George is having good results.
Suzette, you are the right person to own Kiki. She fits in so well with your beautiful Asian art and other dolls. Dazzle is a little wonder for all of the doll dressmakers. So glad you were able to get her.
Evelyn was delivered this morning from Happily. I just could not decide if I would like her because she is so colorful. My color schemes are very soft and muted. I was pleasantly surprised at her beauty. May be one of my favorite ruby red dolls ever!
Happy Monday!
When my sister couldn’t stop coughing, she had COVID. She was quite surprised, thinking it wasn’t around much. I suppose you were tested for it? If not, it would be worth considering because so many people depend on you and your contributions. And a whole family of friends in Ohio just had it.
Susette’s dolls are charming. RRFF seems to do an especially good job on details like purses. Is Dazzle a RR? She’s new to me. And I love Russell’s very convincing sweater.
I’m still sticking with American Girls. They are big enough for me to manage — most of the time. Thank heavens for modern clothes. I’ve been told that red berries and green leafy vegetables reduce inflammation and am determined to try. As a friend points out, those of us who can improve are the lucky ones.
