Hi everyone,
REMINDER: Tonight the dress set for the 6″ My Meadow, Twinkles dolls, “Easter Essentials” will be ending on Ebay. If you haven’t seen it, please click the picture at the right side bar, or click HERE.
I have an Easter dress started and hope to finish it tomorrow…I think I’m going to have to put it on Ebay for maybe 3 days and also with a Buy It Now as I’ve runout of time. We are possibly doing something the week of the 13th and beyond and I want the winner to get it in time for Easter.
Tomorrow I’ll be showing pictures from Charlotte’s Dolls…
Linda sent me pictures of her dolls dressed in First Communion dresses and I’ll be showing them today. You’ve never seen such pretty white dresses! They are so lovely Linda! Everyone is just as beautiful as can be!
Linda tells you about them below…
Jeanne, here are a few pictures of my dolls in their First Communion dresses, with a couple of exceptions!
First, the 40’s girls! I’m sure some of you have seen these dresses, as I have had them awhile. However, regarding the 14-15 in. dolls, there is just one dress for them, and right now you see it on Sara. We have to take turns here because I am not buying more! Betsy is wearing a little white sundress with a crocheted jacket. She is just a visitor here!
Here is Felicity wearing a pretty white gown and wearing one of the veils I used to wear! Since I no longer use it, she gets it! Oh dear, the braid is partly turned up, but too late for me to change! Sorry!
Cecile is in a turn of the century dress, actually Samantha’s, and I added a flower corsage like they used to wear. Kirsten has no white dress, so I put her in her Midsummer dress and added a straw hat, which is something a prairie girl would never have worn, but it looks cute!
This is just a picture of the tray I have in my living room, fixed up for spring. I will be adding tiny eggs to it closer to Easter.
Aren’t the trees beautiful now with all their blooms?
Love to you, Linda💕🌷🌺🌸
Yes, Linda, the trees ARE beautiful! I especially LOVE the Redbud trees with their purplish buds and the flowering Magnolia’s are so pretty too.
Thank you Linda… your girls are just as sweet as can be!
See everyone tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh, My, Linda, what lovely dresses! the little group is so sweet , and Felicity is just breathtaking! Did you make them all? Thank you so much for sharing!
I am getting so busy with sewing, water aerobics twice a week (we have to travel 40 miles each way, but at our age we HAVE to do this to stay in shape.) Holy week starts this coming Sunday and we are in the choir, lots of church time, but Easter is next and so wonderful! My younger son is arriving Sunday for a visit, Saturday and Sunday are the “Blessing of the Fleet” for the Shrimp boats and there is a huge number of people coming in for the vestivities, and our church will be having a big Shrimp Creole dinner and bake sale to make money for church camp for local kids. I sound almost as busy as Jeanne!!
Y’all have a good week, I will drop by every day to check Y’all to say HI, but not much more for awhile!
Thank you Sissy, but no, I did not make any of those dresses! The only thing I did was to add extra trim to Molly’s dress, which here you can hardly see. It was a Pearl trim that I added around her neckline, waist and the hemline. The dress and veil on Ruthie actually is the one I gave to my own granddaughter for her doll, Kit, for her First Communion. She “let’s” me keep it for safekeeping!😊. She is actually 22 now, and not using it right now, but Grandma is!
You sure did remind me that Holy Week is coming up fast, and I will need to get everyone ready for Easter! Here we go again!
okay, thank you for answering my question about the dresses too.
Well done Linda
You are welcome Rosemary and thank you for the compliments!
Thank you, Jeanne, for showing my dolls First Communion dresses. For some reason, I did not do that for a couple of years, and since Easter is so late this year, I thought I would get it in before Easter, and still have time for Easter dresses. After that, I think my dolls are going to want to go outside and play with their bikes and scooters!
Now that the rain has stopped, maybe we can get out there and cut the grass, if it isn’t too wet before another round of rain comes through. What a spring we are having!
Linda, your dolls, thank you for sharing these beauties. I love the dresses- first communion, so special. Each of these dresses are lovely, Did you make all of these in the first picture? Just precious.
Felicity is beautiful, wow, the dress and veil are perfect. and holding her cross. Beautiful
Kirsten is accompanying Cecile to her first communion too. Beautiful scene.
All of you are very good at staging and photos.
Your living room tray decoration is very nice too. My kitty, Princess would be nibbling on that stuff. ugh! I love your ottoman.
I am down sizing still. I have someone coming today to pick up 8 pretty plates that weigh a ton. looking at furnishing on Pinterest, now I want all new furniture too hahaha
I better think first about what to keep.
It is rainy and drab here. I have to be perky and get some stuff done. Actually yesterday I did do some painting and caulking and patching etc. Not fun.
Happy Monday everyone. Jeanne, yes, please get your Easter ensemble out this week!
I am looking forward to it
Me again here! Those are all artificial plants on the ottoman, but I know what you mean by kitties “nibbling” on things! We used to have cats too, and this would never do with them in the house! My dolls would not be safe either!
I got the ottoman from Wayfair, when I got tired of the wood coffee table, and love the way it changes the room! Looks more up to date now and no more dusting!
If our cats didn’t get the lovely display then the dog’s tail of mass destruction would have!
I love your dolly display Linda their dresses are all beautiful.
I totally understand about cats and dogs getting into things,
Anne! I now can decorate to my hearts content and not have anyone mess it up, but I do miss my kitties!
Thank you for the compliments!
Oh how exciting, a dolly share day. The 40’s girls look lovely for their special day. What a beautiful display they make. Now, I’m wondering if they couldn’t wear their dresses at a summer tea as well? Perhaps, with colored ribbons? Just a thought. Maybe kind of like Cecile’s dress? Sara’s white outfit is adorable. Where did you find it? Felicity really wows Linda’s veil. So pretty. Then, Cecile and Kirsten, are radiant in their sweet outfits. Love the corsage which brings back memories of every Mother’s Day or other occasion when my grandmothers would be sporting them. 🙂 And then, the best display ever. Love the tray with it’s so artfully placed objects. Just delightful. Thanks so much Linda and Jeanne for the delightful spring photos.
Here, it rained again last night. Fortunately, other person got the lawns mowed yesterday while I filled a can with weeds. Lots of new varieties. The neighbor’s cat was helping. Or, she thought she was, but it was play time with long weed stems with ready to burst seed heads. Ugh Hope that I can get out there again soon to work before there are weed seeds everywhere.
Thank you, Joy, that dress Sara is wearing is from EBay, but I have no clue who exactly it was. It is very hard to find a dress in that size for First Communion, and it was not all that expensive, but still very pretty! The veil came from Betsy’s bride dress, which she came in. I have yet to find a use for that dress, but it is very pretty. My dolls do not marry at 6 years old!😊
I have the same problem with having a bridal dress for my Ginny doll. I would have to think of it more like a Halloween costume.
Woke up to a dusting of snow! There was snow on the taxus and burning bush in front of the front porch and all the Arborvitae along the one side against the fence as well as across the daffodils and hyacinths. The sun burned it off pretty quickly though.
What gorgeous first communion dresses, Linda. Sara’s is just beautiful and Felicity’s is absolutely exquisite. Everyone else looks so pretty as well.
I like your Easter tray display. Very sweet! Thank you for sharing!
Yes, the flowering tress are so pretty and welcomed. The crabapples, pears, and redbuds are blooming as are the weeping cherry. The forsythia is still going as well.
Thank you, Laura! Snow! Not here, thankfully, but we have a freeze advisory. Not looking forward to that! I’m hoping my azalea bush will be able to bloom this year. The freezing last two years killed all the buds before they even opened, and it was so disappointing.
I didn’t know azaleas were susceptible to frost!
Oh yes, Anne! My azalea is in bud now, but hopefully this frost/freeze won’t harm it. I miss the beautiful flowers on it!
Linda, your dolls all look so lovely for their First Communion. And how nice that Betsy has come to share the occasion with her friends. Has she already had her First Communion or will that be next year when she gets to wear the beautiful dress and veil herself. Felicity looks beautiful in her absolutely lovely dress and mantilla. Cecile and Kirsten look like they are ready for Easter. I like the pretty display on the ottoman – and the ottoman.
We used to have a ton of redbud trees around town and I knew winter was for sure over when I saw them start blooming. I have no idea what happened to them all. No other trees have blooms so I guess we’ll have to wait for the Crepe Myrtles. But they don’t bloom until it gets really hot so I think I can wait awhile. Right now I’m sitting at my computer and my hands are freezing. We had a front go through Saturday that dropped our temps quite a bit. Outside in the sun it is pleasant but inside it is a bit chilly. I refuse to turn on the heat because in another day or two we’ll be back in the 80s so I’m enjoying the chill.
I must go now and put some stitches in the back of Azure’s monster plushie. It’s always fun to try to repair stuffed toys without taking them apart, which I’m not about to do for four inches of gap.
Thank you, Barbara, and yes, Betsy made her First Communion last year, so she gave the “new girl” the dress to wear this year! Sharing is the word around here! I think Kirsten IS ready for Easter, so one less doll to dress, thank goodness!
No redbud trees are blooming there yet? They are in full glory here, a d the dogwoods are out too. They look so pretty in the woods around our house, with the new green leaves on some trees. Crepe Myrtle’s are more our summer flowers, late summer at that. They are probably more like trees where you are, but here they are mainly bushes.
