Hi everyone,
I saw Joy’s comment about not getting any of her girls in Easter outfits. Boohoo! My Easter season was “sort of good” but not great! However, I HAVE made “quite a few” in the past, so I decided to search for more of my archived dresses and show them. I hope you’ll enjoy all the eye candy. I still have more, but I need to get them more organized so they are easier to find… (we’re taking oodles and oodles of dresses!)
Here is Patsy Tonner in a pretty aqua and cream Easter dress…from 2007.
My new Kate doll and Molly shared this dress for Easter last year. It had 2 detachable collars.
Here is Lea in a mint green and rose floral dress, made in 2023. She was VERY pretty in this one…
Here is tiny 8″ Ten Ping in one of my very favorite Easter sets… Little Lambie!
How about some really old ones…This was made back in 2005 for Katie Effanbee. I LOVED this orange and white gauzy dress set. It could be worn either way…It was one of my all-time favorites too!
This was the Winter doll from the Helen Kish Chrysalis set…She was 16″ tall and the dress was made in 2005.
Here’s one for Josefina… a pretty lavender and black Regency gown… It was made back in 2006. I’m not positive I made it for Easter, but it could have been…
This is 7 1/2″ Riley in her sweet Easter dress…no denying I made THIS one for Easter…back in 2006.
How about another one for Riley… back in 2006.
…how about one more…
Oops… one more…
This was another of my all-time favorites (the seamstress who makes the dresses can have as MANY favorites as she wants!) :o)
Rose looked SO beautiful in this chartreuse color and was a dream to photograph.
Well, that’s enough for now… I could always show the rest later, but this will have to do for now…
If I don’t catch you before Sunday, have a wonderful and blessed Easter! May you know the love of the Lord in a very special way.
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh, goodie–more eye candy!!
Isn’t the fabric for Katie Effanbee’s dress (orange flowers) the same as in one of Janie’s dresses a day or two earlier? I think I recognize it.
There are so many cute dresses here, Jeanne–I especially like Lea’s mint green dress, as well as the first Easter dress shown on Riley, and of course Ten Ping’s “Little Lambie.” But my favorite, hands down, is the one Winter is modeling. The style, the fabrics, the jacket–that outfit just sings!
Jeanne, you really have made some very pretty Easter dresses, that I am sure the owners are so happy with, not to mention the dollies!
That dress with the different collars, is so pretty and perfect for Molly! I had quite forgotten about your Kate doll, and wonder if you still have her. I do know that you no longer have Josefina, but she is beautiful in that purple dress you made for her. She looks so stylish and grown up!
That Katie Effanbee doll dress is so pretty, and yes, it must be the same material that Janie’s dress was made of. I love that dress and hat combo, so sweet!
I also love that last outfit, the green one that Rose is modeling. The cute ruffle on the jacket, the pretty hat, those darling shoes, and cheerful colors of the dress make it a winner for me!
May you all have a blessed Easter season!
I always enjoy your holiday fashion parade and this was a pleasure as always. Thank you for sharing your dolls in their finest!
Dear Jeanne and Sofa friends,
We got back from the hospital 2 days ago after a 5 day stay. Peyton’s hand looks better but is still awful. He had surgery on it to clean out the infection. I am trying to learn how to be a nurse, binding his hand twice a day after he soaks it for 20 mins.
I am doing most of the things he usually does around the house, plus my chores, and I stay very busy, but so thankful that he has had such good care. We see the doc again next week.
I didn’t get the blog on my phone while we were gone, but I did check out the last 2 from this one yesterday and loved seeing Linda and Laura’s sweet dolls. So nice to look at something besides hospital beds, and all that there.
Jeanne, thank you again for your sweet photos. I loved seeing Katie, I had one years ago. Molly’s print dress and the changeable collars has always been a favorite, adn of course Riley. I still have mine.
Have a blessed Easter every one, and send my sweet Peyton a little prayer please.
Sissy, how wonderful that Peyton is back home, but that must have been quite an experience for you both! Prayers for his full recovery coming your way!
Thank you for the compliments about my dolls.
May you have a blessed Easter too, with health and happiness!
Thank you, Linda, we surely need the prayers. I will let you know when all is well.
So glad to hear that Peyton is recovering and has an excellent nurse. Please take care of yourself too and hope that you both have a wonderful Easter.
Thank you, Joy, We are going to the church for Good Friday and Easter, if all goes well. He is sleeping well and I am nursing the hand.
Have a great time with your grands, and a blessed Easter.
So sorry Peyton’s hand ended up with a hospital stay. I know that was very stressful for y’all. I’m glad it’s looking better and will pray for a full recovery for him.
Hi Sissy, thank you very much! I happy you enjoy seeing her. I’m very glad to hear that Payton is back home. Prayers for a continued recovery. I hope you both have a Blessed Easter!
Sissy, I am just reading for the first time about Peyton’s medical issues. I am so sorry that he had to endure this but glad to hear that he is on the mend. Prayers for his recovery and your nursing abilities.
Dear Sissy, I am glad you are home. I will pray for strength for both of you.
Dear Sissy, I’m glad to hear Peyton’s surgery went well. I am praying for both of you–for quick and complete healing for him, and for patience, wisdom, confidence, and adequate rest for you!
I took care of my Ron after several of his surgeries (including bunion, back, hip replacement, and colostomy, plus its takedown 6 months later) and it’s not always easy being a “nurse”! Fortunately they trained me well in each case as to what to do, what to look for, etc., and although that colostomy was especially challenging, I was able to manage, and finally it actually became routine! However, I did Not miss it after it was reversed! (laugh)
A blessed Easter to all the sofa sisters and their families!
The Easter Parade has been wonderful. Kate/Molly reek of Easter in a good way. That dress pattern is wonderful and the fabric and collars and special gloves all tie it together so well for the special holiday. Brings back so many memories of better times. Here, we’re going to drive down to see the grands. We’re not having all of the Easter hoopla except for the egg hunt, but some great sandwiches of which we’ve already put in our order. It should be a relaxing and fun catch up time. I should bring along the croquet set. We’ll see. 🙂
Happy Easter everyone!
That sounds like great fun – sandwiches and an egg hunt – no fuss. I read your post yesterday about the end of shipments from RRFF. KiKi arrived yesterday so I guess that is it for awhile. I haven’t had the time to unwrap her but am expecting good things. Enjoy your new dolls – never enough!
Seeing all these wonderful Easter outfits, both from Jeanne and others, made me think of something kind of funny. Since all we Sofa Sisters are mostly in the same age group and we are always talking about how girls don’t dress up for Easter like used to be expected, it made me wonder what our granddaughter’s would post for their dolls when they’re our age. Maybe new jeans and a t-shirt with scripture or inspirational sayings. That would be my granddaughter’s Easter wearing attire. She hasn’t had an “Easter dress” since we bought her one a few years ago. If we bought one she would not wear it more than once. But she does have some lovely t-shirts she wears on Sunday. Our daughter-in-law, Dionne, has been creating AI designs that she sells for putting on t-shirts, etc. She created an inspirational design for Sean and had it put on a t-shirt. It’s beautiful. She did a design for me of a tropical beach with a chair and a lighthouse. She types in the parameters and AI creates the design. It’s gorgeous. There are several and one is at sunset. I’m thinking of having a wall hanging done with my design and maybe a t-shirt. Dionne has a very creative mind for this sort of thing and she’s great with technology, so her designs come out amazing.
I have not commented much this week since other things keep creeping into my blog commenting time. But I want to say that I have eventually read everything and totally enjoyed what I’ve read and seen. Seeing all the Easter finery finally got me into my sewing room and working on my Gotz Hannah’s Easter dress. I still have much to do. It’s got three ruffled tiers and those will take a little time. If I don’t send a picture as an Easter dress it will qualify as a spring dress so I’m good for a few weeks. For some reason I have not been in my sewing room lately other than to do some reorganization. Now that it is pretty much the way I want it with my new table and set-up, I need to make the time. It looks so neat and tidy maybe I’m just reluctant to mess it up. My dolly girls are not buying that excuse.
A very Happy Easter to all my Sofa Sisters.
I do hope you can get a pic of the Easter dress when it’s finished. The dress here is still a pile of fabric. Must get on it. 🙂
I think I might actually get this picture taken since I seem to be more organized lately. And I might even get the dress finished by Easter since I still have tomorrow. Reminds me of when I was sewing Easter clothes for five children (my two and two stepdaughter’s and a stepson). I was always “burning the midnight oil” on Easter Eve but they were all ready to go by Easter morning – and sometimes a dress for me too. I made shirts for the boys to wear with their suits so they would have something I made to wear too. But that was when I could sit at my sewing machine for hours at a time.
Dear Barbara, first, Easter hugs from PA!
Second, I am not sure what our daughters would post about dolls. My daughter never liked dolls. She was alright with stuffed animals though.
I am just happy that I developed a love for dolls as a child that has stayed with me my entire life.
My daughter wasn’t into dolls either and my granddaughter not so much once her friends moved away. She really has had no one to play dolls with over the years. Now she’s a teenager and dolls are icky. Maybe someday. The weather here is still lovely and we are actually having a spring this year, but pretty soon I will be wishing I were in PA with you.
Picking favorites is easy today. The one on Kate/Molly and definitely the one on Lea. The dress/hat/jacket on the Winter doll is equally lovely.
A very Happy and Blessed Easter to you Jeanne and all the Sofa Sisters!
I see we all have new quilts squares. I guess I didn’t notice when it happened , but just saw my red one is gone.
Oh, you’re right!! I’m glad–I like my new one much better than my old one (which was pale pale greenish and you could hardly see it) and my new one is a dark violet-blue, and prettier!
Jeanne, you did do a lot of sewing this week haha
OH my gosh, I love all of the dresses and just adorable scenes. These are very special.
I love Katie’s little dress with the tulips.
Wow all of these girls are so cute. I have really enjoyed all of the sweeties this week, they really did put on the best parade.
Thank you all of you for sharing. I hope all of you dear friends have the very best
Easter celebration! He is Risen indeed! I wish sun shine and happy times with family
Love to you all
Jeanne the Easter parade of fashions has been a real treat. It would be very hard to choose a favorite!
Dear Jeanne, there are so many lovely dresses. I don’t know that I can pick a favorite.
I have it on good authority that you and all of the Sofa Sisters have been nice (and not naughty) so the Easter Bunny will deliver a big basket of goodies to your house. Oh, wait, is that Santa Claus (laugh)?
Well, whoever it is, I wish you all a blessed Easter Day.
