My Boneka doll dress… Valentine’s Day or Easter dress???

Hi everyone,
Hope you had a nice weekend. It was pretty nice here… it was much easier for my hubby to do his electrical work for a friend when the temps were in the 50’s instead of the 20’s and 30’s! He got lots of work done… AND SO DID I! I can’t wait to show you…

I read the last 2 comments made yesterday from Linda and Kathie, and Kathie asked if this was going to be a Valentine’s Day dress or an Easter dress. This dress doesn’t scream Valentine’s Day and it doesn’t scream Easter… but it CAN be either… The winner will get to decide. I’m hoping to get it listed Monday night. I didn’t get enough done on it until Sunday afternoon and evening… too late to get pictures.

Also, it’s a pale pink but not as pale as my pictures make it look. I have a few pictures below that show the colors a little better. I might need to go outside for a few if the weather permits.

Ok..let’s just start…

You’re going to see FIVE new things today! Woohoo!

First up… new pale pink EYELETS in Noel’s pink boots.

I sanded on the soles of them a little more and burnished them too… they are looking better… I’ve realized the boots on my dolls feet look much better when they are on the doll in person and 1 1/4″ tall instead of 4″ up close pictures in my blog.

Then I realized she needed a pair of white THIGH HIGHS…

Much better…

All the rest of my pictures show everything new I’ve added, so I’ll just tell you now…

I decided on the same kind of BONNET as her last one. It helps tame her hair and frames her face so sweetly. This one is pink with a bit of apple green accents… It too, has an elastic cord under her chin, for easy off and on. Just place the cord under her chin and slide it onto your doll’s head.

A darling apple green JACKET goes wonderfully with her dress. You may remember the one I made for Chartreuse Fantasy for Rose…

This is a smaller version… but just as cute. It’s made from a gauzy embroidered fabric and I’m almost out of it. :o(

And Noel picked a fun little Teddy BEAR for the Dolly Toy Box… She named her Pinkie!

Okay…now I can show you the rest of the pictures…

The green jacket looks a bit bright, but in person, it looks lovely together.

The jacket is light as a feather and is lined with tulle so it’s not bulky at all! It’s just delicate, so be careful when you put her arms through the sleeves and pull it up gently. Kind of think of it like dressing her in the jacket in SLOW MOTION…

Noel likes Pinkie and I think the winner will too!

Here are a few more…

This picture of the bonnet looks washed out, but you can at least see how it’s decorated.

My sweet girl has done it again… made a simple dress look so elegant…

I will do my best to get this listed on Ebay… ASAP!

Thanks everyone,
See you tomorrow!
Blessings, Jeanne

Those boots look so much better now! It’s amazing what little things like matching eyelets and some burnishing will do!!

The hat is the perfect style for Noel, and trimmed so prettily, too. I love her dress, but have to confess, I’m not feeling the color of the jacket–it looks too bright and “lime-y” to me. Of course, I realize that it could be my monitor, or the lighting where the pictures were taken. I love the style, though, with the little ruffles and all. And Pinkie is the perfect finishing touch!

The new pink eyelets look so much better, Jeanne! Great savew on those darling boots!

That jacket is just so sweet, but yes, as Charlotte mentioned it does look bright, but you said that it looks fine in real life, so I take your word for it! I know that sometimes things don’t show well on the computer or in pictures as far as colors go. A paler green might make the whole outfit look “washed out”.

Her thigh hihgs are the finishing touch and that hat works out so well with Noel, but also with many other hairstyles. I love all the embellishments on it! Pinky is another good reason to get this outfit!! Poor Noel, she is probably getting spoiled now that she has had two dresses in a row, and will be losing yet another!!

Hope our Sofa Sisters in California are doing OK! My thoughts and prayers are with you!

    1. She looks perfect…I like the lime green as is or lighter. That little ruffle is such an original look. Except….😉maybe a Valentine purse like the last one had and a bunny instead of a Teddy Bear? Then it would be a great two-fer.😉
The boots look so nice now too! Then on to real Easter dresses🥰
Yikes..this weather is so hard on our California Sofa Sisters! Hope it calms frown soon.

Very cute on Noel’s latest. And love little Pinkie. It looks like we may get a break to dry out a bit today. No problems here, but our other house, a few blocks away, is on a different electrical circuit and has had no power since yesterday morning. When you look at the PGE outage map, there are only a few places around here that still have power, especially in the hills. We had so much wind, that trees were falling everywhere. And I mean big trees, like redwoods. There is no estimation of when the power will be restored in most cases. Our across the street neighbor has no power in her home as she is also on a different circuit from up the hill. Interesting grid. Hope everyone has their cars charged up because, otherwise, they aren’t going to be going anywhere. All of our close neighbors have electric vehicles. Whoops, I shouldn’t have mentioned drying out as right now, it is absolutely pouring again. Crazy weather.
I really hope Susette is okay in the southland. So much damage in the state for us.

It’s okay right where I live but miserable in other places with trees and cliffs falling. I’ve never seen such an extended period of rain. You were right about cars, trucks and vans being carried away by flood waters. I knew nothing about driving in the rain but was lucky an 88 Fiero was like throwing a rock in the water and it didn’t float. A watertight van would probably have, indeed, floated away. Just waiting it out for an hour or so for water to subside works surprisingly well.

Oh, glad to hear you are safe. So many pictures of slides and water everywhere. And nope, we’re not headed out to the flatlands around here where there may be water ponding. Our neighbor had a huge redwood branch fall and actually penetrate his roof and into the kitchen. Time to remodel. Here, just branches down on the lawn/street. We cleaned up today. Glad you’re okay.

What a perfect outfit for an early Easter. When I was growing up in PA we always had “spring” coats or jackets for Easter but here in Texas, with the exception of the one year many years ago, a coat is not needed. When I lived in the northeast I loved having a new suit for Easter. Here if I do that I rarely wear the jacket. I have some lovely spring jackets I used to wear to work since the A/C was always a little too cool for me, but since I’ve been retired I hardly wear them but still keep them because they are so pretty. At one time the A/C in restaurants, etc., was cool enough it was smart to bring a sweater or jacket but with restaurants trying to cut back on overhead, sometimes it’s a little too warm in the summer.

Since I love the chartreuse color I’m good to go with the jacket and the bonnet coordinates with everything. The addition to the boots is great. I hadn’t even thought of putting eyelets on something so tiny. I have enough trouble putting them on bigger things.

Temp here is 56 at the moment but with it being overcast and windy it feels much cooler.

Dear Jeanne, she looks adorable. I love pink and green together.

I agree. Let the winner decide for which holiday to use the dress. I have a feeling that once the winner’s Boneka puts the dress on, she won’t want to take it off anyway.
