HI everyone,
Well, the day has arrived for you to vote on your favorite dresses from last year! I wanted to wait until I could gather up all the information about them. When I made a grid to see just WHO got dresses last year, it was kind of all over the board… that is, if you remove the Ruby Red Fashion Friends. Once again, as a total group of dolls, they were the big winners last year with 10 outfits to share among them all.
So here are a few statistics about last year…
I managed to make 25 dresses last year…
I played “shoe cobbler” and made 16 pair of shoes, boots or flip flops to go with the outfits!
The weather must have kept me inside in the month of February, because I managed to make 4 dresses that month… more than another other month.
I don’t know what happened in the month of April, as I only managed one dress that month.
August and September were busy months with playing nurse maid to my hubby after his surgery.
I only managed ONE Christmas dress last year… boo hoo… I LOVE to make Christmas dresses! BUT James got a Christmas set… just for a boy!
The Ruby Red Fashion Friends as a whole had 10 outfits between Freida, Rose, Sarah, Violette, Stella and James… The only one who missed out modeling last year was actually one of my very favorites… Rozen!
Well, enough of statistics… let’s get this Fashion Show started so the VOTING can begin… After you’ve looked and maybe looked again, pick out your top 3 choices… I’ve numbered them in bold black lettering just before each outfit. Pick your winners (you get 3 votes) and list your favorite dresses! I’ll tally up the votes and see who wins 2023 Top Model of the Year!
You can either leave your comments below this post with your 3 favorite choices or email me with your choices. You can comment all day Tuesday and I’ll do my best to tally up the dolls who modeled the winning outfits Wednesday! I’ll use midnight Central Standard Time (Illinois) as the cut off time for voting… then I can go to bed! :o)
Okay, let’s get started…
1 “Springtime Promise” First in January was Felicity in “Springtime Promise!” She was the recipient of my first Pelerine capelet!
2 “Year of the Rabbit” Next in January was Ten Ping in “Year of the Rabbit!” She received a one of a kind bunny purse…
3 “Eager for Easter” Noel modeled Eager for Easter! I did love this set! :o)
4 “Easter Excitement” Molly is showing you “Easter Excitement” and she certainly was excited!
5 “Vibrant in Violets” The fifth dress in 2023, went to Freida in “Vibrant in Violets!” That’s not the prettiest picture, but Elaine emailed me today and asked about Reuben… When I saw this picture of Freida, AND Reuben and my hubby, I decided to use it. Elaine, this is for YOU!
6 “Bunny in my Pocket” Next up is Lian in “Bunny in my Pocket!” I LOVE, LOVE, LOVED this fabric! (AND the doll!) She’s my sweetheart!
7 “Littlest Irish Lass” Mini Bailey stole the show with her green Littlest Irish Lass outfit! She’s tiny, but has LOTS to love to share.
8 “Chartreuse Fantasy” The next dress was another favorite of mine… I love the color Chartreuse… Here is Rose in Chartreuse Fantasy!
9 “Blue Ribbon” Next up is Sarah in “Blue Ribbon!” She wore my first snap-strap shoes.
10 “Little Lambie” Here is Ten Ping in “Little Lambie!” I LOVED her in this set… and bought more lambs for this year!
11 “Victorian Spring” Leah got the only dress in April… in one of my favorite fabrics… “Victorian Spring!”
12 “Civil War Charmer” Freida wore my first “tiny” Civil War dress. I called this “Civil War Charmer.” My outside pictures were much better, but I can’t seem to find them…
13 “Positively Precious” Now we have progressed to the month of May (Dorothy’s favorite month!!!) and here’s a real cutie… it’s Emmie in a pretty blue and white dress called “Positively Precious!”
14 “Sunflowers Charmer” This next set is shown on Ruby Red Fashion Friends, doll, Freida. This is “Sunflowers Charmer.” It was another really fun set to make..
15 “4th of July Fever” Now we have moved into June and here is Ten Ping in “4th of July Fever.”
16 “Snapshots of Summer” Here was another set I had a lot of fun with… Violette had so many pieces and so many possibilities with this one.
17 “Darling Dirndl” Kirsten is wearing a dress I called “Darling Dirndl” and she DID look darling! Blue is definitely her color!
18 “Ready to Read” Violette is back on the modeling table, wearing a fun denim short, jeans, sandals, and 2 purse set.
19 “Littlest Scholar” Ten Ping never looked so cute as she did in “Littlest Scholar.” I had SO much fun making her the tiniest pair of leather loafers.
20 “Fall Fever” Next up in October was Freida again, in “Fall Fever.” My favorite part of this set was the denim jacket. I do need to make another one of those. I also liked her flowery hat, her brown leather shoes and purse set. I guess I pretty much liked everything about this outfit! Did you?
21 “Welcome Fall” Stella brought us into November in “Welcome Fall.” By repurposing a boiled wool rust colored fabric, I made the cutest accessories for her.
22 “Colonial Stroll” Felicity cabbaged on that same rust colored wool fabric in “Colonial Stroll.” I think Felicity looked wonderful in this!
23 “Tiny Traveler” Tiny little Mini Bailey, a My Meadows doll, challenged me to make my first tiny little suitcase, as she was the “Tiny Traveler.” I truly enjoyed making this one too! It’s so much fun to enjoy what you do!
24 “Winter’s Song” Noel got to be the first AND unfortunately the LAST little doll from my collection who modeled a Christmas dress. Here is Noel in “Winter’s Song!”
25 “Christmas Helper” James actually got the last outfit of the year… A Christmas medley of LOTS of different pieces…including an adorable newsboy cap!
Well, those were the dresses I made in 2023. Pick a number 1, a number 2 and a number 3. Then I’ll see which doll wins top model of 2023 and post it tomorrow. You can vote in the comments below the post, or you can hit the Contact Me tab up under the header of my blog post and let me know your choices.
Thanks for all of you who cheered me on in 2023, with your compliments on the outfits I made, the bids you placed, the bids you WON, the ideas you gave me, the critiques I sometimes asked for, your suggestions when I was stumped, and especially for your friendship! I love what I do and love that YOU love what I do too!
I’ll see you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Jeanne, I’m here early, but have to think about this for awhile. I’ll chime in later when I get my mind made up,… and hope that happens!!
Oh, this was Hard!! I first eliminated the ones that were less favorites of mine, and that narrowed it down some. When I got it down to 4 or 5, then I just decided which ones I like best. So, here they are:
First place #5 Vibrant in Violets. I love the fabric, and just everything about this outfit, but the shoes and purse were what put it over the top for me. I don’t remember if I bid on it or not (and if not, WHY NOT?!!!), but I think it’s simply gorgeous.
Second place #25 Christmas Helper. So many things going for this outfit, lots of mix and match, lots of versatility–even PJ pants, as I recall!! What’s not to love?
Third place #19 Littlest Scholar. Of course I would love this–it’s for TenPing (or Gigi…). I love the pleated skirt and the little jacket with its emblem. The school bag and shoes are fantastic.
There….Those are my top three. It will be fun to see if any of them become the champions!! They are all winners, in my book!
Difficile d’en choisir 3;elles sont toutes belles. Pour moi ,les plus jolies sont, 14 , 1, 19. Et je peux même ajouter 8 .En tout cas, félicitations pour tout ce charmant travail.
I was to soon last night so here I go again, #1 is 24, #2 is 3, #3 is 8 They are all beautiful!
1. Easter Excitement 2. Victorian Spring 3. Littlest Scholar
#1 Springtime Promise January
Hi Helen,
You can pick 2 more… a second place and a third place…
Blessings, Jeanne
My votes are for Springtime Promise, Chartreuse Fantasy, Colonial Stroll.
I love your blog, so many beautiful dolls and outfits to enjoy and wonderful gals comments.
I read you faithfully every day you post.
Doreen in Arkansas
First place: 1
Second place: 23
3rd place: 6
I’m choosing #14 Sunflower Charmer as #1 because my sister and I had dresses like that when I was about eight years old. So many pieces make this set so versatile, especially the thong sandals and belt/necklace. My #2 is #25 Christmas Helper, again because of the many pieces that I only see in Jeanne Marie sets and because I have four RRFF boy dolls. My #3 is #2 Little 🐑 Lambie. My Ten Ping would love this outfit and I love the Little 🐑 Lambie.
Uh, oh! Little Lambie is #10, not #2. I knew I’d mix something up.
Got it Susette! Thanks
I will never get this done! I keep changing, so I will just stop for now and here is what I have:
#1 Springtime Promise
#13 Positively Precious
#8 Chartreuse Fantasy
Ask me in 5 minutes, and it will be different, so I’m sticking with these!
Here are my numbers in order first to last, 19, 4, 10
All are wonderful in their own ways.
11. Victorian Spring for an American Girl is my favorite. That rick rack presentation is amazing and the overall presentation is adorable.
5. Vibrant Violets for the incredible beadwork.
8. Chartreuse Fantasy for the adorable shoes.
#1 dress 1
#2 dress 19
#3 dress 2
I decided to go down the list and write down everyone I REALLY liked. I ended up with eight. Obviously I needed to pare down my choices. So here is my final decision:
#1 – #3 Noel in “Eager for Easter”
#2 – #8 Rose in “Chartreuse Fantasy”
#3 – #24 Noel in “Winter’s Song”
Obviously I love the things you do for Noel.
#1 – Springtime Promise, love that Pelerine! #2 – Littlest Scholar. it’s just so adorable! #3 – Victorian Spring, it was hard to decide on this one, but I love, love, LOVE that petticoat!
#1 “Springtime Promise” – absolutely no contest on this one.
#2 “Winter’s Song” – love the sweet dress and especially the bonnet design
#3 “Colonial Stroll”
Very difficult, but here they are:
17 Darling Dirndl
24 Winter Song
22 Colonial Stroll
I look forward every day to see what creations you’ve dreamed up! Thank you!!
First. 22. Second.24 third. 20
An almost impossible task to narrow it down to 3 but my three are 5, 19, 1.
Good grief…I looked and studied and just thought how pretty they all were. I went with the ones I stopped at the most.
1. Eager for Easter #3..the awesome flowers and colors, style, the pink jacket
2. Littlest Scholar #19..so detailed, such great colors, pleated skirt got me😉
3. Chartreuse Fantasy #8..loved the dress, the jacket, and oh the shoes!
There were so many…guess I liked the ones that would fit my dolls most😉
You are going to need a computer to figure it all out!
Have fun🥰
All were extraordinary but I narrowed it down to 6. Can I vote twice : )
Before I choose I will say that my choices had a lot to do with the fabric choices and coordinating accessories that you have mastered. Jackets, shoes, purses, and hats that any doll would want.
1. Springtime Promise
8. Chartreuse Fantasy
19. Littlest Scholar
I did choose outfits that are not common among any that are offered for sale on eBay or Etsy. Great year Jeanne!
In that order.
So so hard to decide with all the beautiful outfits and accessories. Some outfits are breathtaking in color like Lian in the purple dress. Of course I always fall for the AMG outfits but the outfits on Violette are pretty neat too.
After all this, I think I’ll have to settle on Tiny Travelor and Littlest Scholar.
1. Littlest Scholar
2. Bunny in my pocket
3. Tiny Travelor
Dear Jeanne, here is my list:
First – 19 Littlest Scholar
Second – 16 Snapshots of Summer
Third – 15 Fourth of July
PS I sent you an email on your site.
Hi everyone! Oh boy every year it’s a struggle to pick only three. Anyway, after looking at the choices three separate times here is my vote.
#1- Springtime promise (#1)
#2- Winter Song (#24)
#3- Littlest Scholar (#19)
Truly they are all deserving!
Happy Tuesday!
Hugs
Ingrid
Such a hard choice that I cannot choose just one. Numbers 1 or 17.
Hi Nancy,
You can actually choose THREE choices. I hope you see this in time…
Blessings, Jeanne
May I please then add #3. Thanks.
Got it Nancy! Thanks!
Blessings, Jeanne
