Good news… my hand isn’t fractured… just sprained. I’m wearing a splint until it gets better… it doesn’t take much to make my hand hurt, when I forget and use it. Oddly, these hurt…flushing the toilet, turning my phone on, zipping up my pants, brushing my hair, and trying to use a pair of scissors. (Yes, I tried…)
My good news is mild compared to what is next!
The second good news is from our Sofa Sister, whom we’ve all been praying for.
Anne Johnson was so grateful for all your prayers she sent me this text and said I could share it with everyone…
She sent this text earlier and I wasn’t necessarily going to share it, but decided to…
A loving message from me to everyone I know: Please, take care of yourselves. Stay on top of routine exams and tests. Make all your appointments in a timely fashion, and then follow through. Please do not procrastinate, put things off, or skip them altogether because they take time, are inconvenient, embarrassing, etc. My good outcome is due to God’s good grace and the fact that the doctors caught this early, when it was easily treatable. Please, if you have been putting things off, letting them go, or neglecting yourself, make that appointment today. Your health—and your life—may depend on it. Love you!
Then Anne sent me this praise report on a day when we were traveling to a doctor appointment… I rejoiced with her in the car that day…
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your prayers throughout my cancer, surgery, and recovery. God is good, all the time! And He gives us prayer partners to help us. Thank you so much for your support and friendship, your thoughts and prayers! Love and care from friends like you means everything!
Love and blessings to you all!
Thank you Anne! I hope that brings a really big smile to everyone’s face today!
See you, Jeanne
What wonderful news to start our week, Jeanne!! Good news about your hand (even though it still hurts sometimes), and good news from Anne Johnson, also. Prayers continue.
I actually got into my sewing room for a little while this evening! It’s the first time in over a week, I think. I’m finishing up a UFO–a little baby coverall or romper that I started MANY years ago!! I started it when I was teaching a class, and when you do that, you sometimes do “fast and sloppy” because you don’t have much time. So, I have had to take out and redo some areas, but I think I’m more than half done now.
I spent part of the afternoon with Ron today, and he’s doing okay. He’s got a pressure sore that is just in the “wrong” place, so no matter how he sits, it hurts!! Poor guy….
Dear Charlotte, I am glad that your husband is settled in now and that you have a bit of time to breathe and not worry.
So good to hear that you hand isn’t fractured, Jeanne, but yes, things hurt even when just sprained. I also sprain parts of me I never knew I had, and for a day or so, it hurts for a bit but it does kind of hamper the things you want to do!
Also, it was wonderful to hear Anne’s good news and I am so happy for her. Yes, we all need to keep up with our tests and doctor visits, especially at our ages! We do it not only for ourselves, but for those around us who depend on us, or who just plain love us.
Glad to hear you got back into your sewing room, Charlotte! is the romper or coverall for a doll or real baby? We need to see it when you are done!
This certainly is a a “good news day” here on the blog and a great way to start the week!
Anne, I’m so happy for you! What good news and I agree with not putting off necessary yearly health visits which are so important, despite how modest a person might be.
Jeanne, thank you for sharing Anne’s news.
And I hope you’re wrist /hand heals soon.
I had an IV put in my right wrist months ago, it has remained puffy at the site and hurts like I injured it. I’ll have to have it looked at.
Dear Jeanne, thanks for sharing this wonderful news. Prayers have truly been answered. And prayers continue.
Dear Anne, I am sending blessings to you also.
Glad Jeanne’s wrist wasn’t fractured. I’m sure it will improve everyday. And glad Anne J. took care of herself as we all should.
We ended up with just a few drops of rain, not like down south. Other person blew out the gutters, and I blew and cleaned up the mess left below around the house. Only problem was that racoons have decided to use our roof as their bathroom. Ick! Guess we’ll have to spray with mint oil or something up there so they’ll move on. They must like the view from the roof. Don’t know.
Anyone have new dollies or accessories arriving? I’ve been eyeing some cute tea sets on Maileg. 🙂
Have a good day everyone.
Awesome News Day! Hooray for Anne and Jeanne!!
I’ll add you two to the Thank You prayer list🤗🙏🏻😉
That sprain will hurt but as a nurse friend told me “your body gets used to the pain” Did someone help you finish moving the rug ?
Glad Ron is getting used to his new place and they probably have good treatments for pressure wounds for him😳. Charlotte you can relax and sew ..that has to be a good thing too
We had a wonderful weather week last week but this week will be hot and humid. Watering will have to happen every day☺️
Have good week everyone
I lost a dear friend I’ve known on the doll boards since 2014 to stage 4 kidney cancer last week. One of the first to welcome me. She was “fine” at Easter. We had been pen pals since 2015.
Wonderful to hear Anne Johnson’s good news. I hope your hand heals soon, Jeanne.
On to another week of smoke and heat here. I’m also working with my neighbors Bob and also Emily and her mother, Carrie to TNR some more kitties. Mainly after the Casanova male who has managed to find all the unfixed ladies. Finding homes for the kittens hopefully, while we all care for the adults. Very busy week ahead.
Dear Laura, I am so sorry for you loss. It is awful to lose a friend. I have a dear penpal friend across the ocean and it is a joy to be able to email her.
We are here for you. You always have a spot on the sofa.
Thank you, Dorothy. I appreciate your kind words.
Very sorry about your long time friend.
Hope you can catch that male and make him pay kitty support. Very good work you doing with the feral kitties and mommies.
Thank you, Joy. I appreciate the kind words. Really hope I catch him, too.
Yes, kitty support would be nice. Too bad he doesn’t have a job.
