Well, I did it! I was able to get Emmie’s dress listed and when I was trying to think of a name for it, one word kept coming to my mind… Looking at Emmie, I thought she looked so precious, so I went with that… Positively Precious. She truly is a Little Darling… I think she’s SO pretty… Oh, and Precious! :o)
If you’d like to see the listing on Ebay, you can click the picture at the right side bar or you can click HERE.
Oh, before I forget, Yes, Joy, my hubby has gotten his tomato plants planted… but he hasn’t been able to get the grass mowed because of all the rain we’ve been having. Then when it wasn’t raining, his schedule wasn’t cooperating. I know he wouldn’t want me to take a picture of his garden with the grass tall all around it. But as soon as he mows, I’ll get a picture of them…
Now for something I have been meaning to show for the longest time. (I think I got it right when I was working on the wedding dress!) Remember Katie, that decorates cards and pictures with her stitching?
Well, she sent me a big box full of all kinds of sewing goodies… embroidery machine threads, buttons, some glass necklace pieces, and all kinds of clasps… I wanted to show you what was in my box…
I dumped it out so you could see how much was packed inside…
Then I organized it a bit and put like things together…
Here are some closeups…
Thank you SO much Katie! It was like Christmas going through it all! I have lots to work with…
See everyone tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Congrats on getting Emmie’s dress listed! Very appropriate name for it, too!!
Wow! What a treasure trove Katie sent you!! I love that card of buttons, where the buttons are the flowers on stems printed on the card!! Some lovely beads, too (I esp. love the pink and white strand). And that silvery thing that looks like two hearts is actually a clasp often used on a hand-knitted sweater–probably a Norwegian sweater, as I see the “made in Norway” tag on it. You could also use it on a cape or something, too, I think. It’s really pretty, and I wonder if it might not be pewter–I think at least some of the older ones are.
Barbara, your comment yesterday on your dinner out, and Jaiden and the children’s menu sure brought back memories. I was always very small for my age, and just Hated when someone handed me a child’s menu!! Truth to tell, I didn’t eat a lot back then, either, so there was always more on my plate (adult serving) than I could manage. Of course, I had a willing younger brother (AKA the human garbage can) who was perpetually hungry!! I felt like I had a vulture watching me eat, ready to pounce! By my teens, I rebelled at just handing over half my dinner before I even tried to eat it all, and made him wait!
Such a funny story about your brother and your dinner. I can’t even imagine the intimidation (lol). Good for you on eventually insisting you get to pass on only your leftovers. David told me a story about eating at a friend’s house once. The friend had a little brother. David couldn’t understand why the boy was standing next to him while he ate so David finally asked what he was doing. The little boy said his brother told him that because David ate so much he must have a hollow leg and the child was trying to see if it was true.
Hilarious!!! 😂🤣😂
Emmie looks like a little angel in her pretty dress, Jeanne! This is going to be a hard one to let go, I’m afraid! I sometimes have a hard time taking off an outfit on one of my dolls when she looks so cute in it, but then I just put it back in the closet to keep, and here you have to send it away! That must be hard!
Oh my Kathie, how nice of you to think of Jeanne and send her all those treasures! Yo can be sure htey will be used well! I too, love that silver/pewter clasp, and thought of Kirsten immediately when i saw that! That woud make a pretty clasp for a cape for her!
What fun to look through everything!
Dear Jeanne, what a lovely gift. I can just imagine you “oohing” and “aahing” over each item.
Isn’t it wonderful to get surprises in the mail? I think that one of the old mail order catalogues (Sears? Spiegel?) called it “elephants in the mail.” Did I post that information before? It certainly would be a surprise to get an elephant in the mail, for both the recipient and the elephant (laugh)!
Thanks for sharing the goodie box! How sweet of Kathie to send it. Lots of fun things too.
Okay, I’ll be waiting to see George’s, tomatoes which I’m sure will dwarf those here. Heading up to the other house this morning to tackle more weeds there. It appears to be unending this year. I think we need a goat. 🙂
How very kind of Katie to send you the goody box. I love the pewter clasp as well. Still have my dirndl dresses from childhood and some had those clasps while other have etched pewter buttons.
Love The Family Circus note. I remember seeing that at some point.
Such a perfect name for your current auction. Emmie’s dress is so adorable and the fabric is perfect. I know there will be a lot of competition for this one.
What a wonderful surprise to show up on your doorstep and how nice of Katie to send it. Lots of fun stuff. I’m sure it was exciting discovering it all.
Has any of my sofa sisters who sew seen the new Ditto pattern projector? I knew nothing about it until I was looking at the notice of a sale at JoAnn’s and it said come in and check out our Ditto pattern projector. It is a huge innovation in sewing for sure. If anyone gets a chance check it out. I’d love to know what you think. I’m not sure if it will end up on my “wish” list but the concept is pretty amazing.
I just saw in my e-mail where my L’il Dreamer Alora will be joining the family come this Friday. I’m so excited. It’s the last of the three and I have enjoyed the other two so much. Now where is my Mini Sara? Haven’t heard anything about her.
OOPS!! All the goodies were sent to Jeanne. From KATIE , not Kathie🤭😳
What a fun box you sent Katie
