I thought I was going to have to write this post on my phone. My satellite was acting up and not connecting to the internet… but just as I started writing it on my phone, it came back on… so Hallelujah! It’s much quicker on my desk top to write my posts!
Well, as the title says, Lea is dressed in her new minty pink dress and she loves it! You’ll notice right away I changed something on it… it has bows again…on the shoulders…but this time they are made from a ribbon less than half as wide and are a double face satin AND I left the tails hanging down… I bought 2 different reels of pink ribbon and this one worked best… The ribbons are the same color, they just look differently in the lighting…
… BUT, the ribbons aren’t sewn on… they are safety pinned on, so the winner of this dress can take them off if they like, but I think these work! I also moved them out closer to the edge of the sleeve seam.
Lea did a pretty nice job of modeling this dress, but I would like to get some outside pictures of it, and hopefully show you the real colors in it!
Here’s just a pretty slide show from this afternoon…
I just braided her hair a little bit on each side and pulled it back and tied it with a bow…
I’ll see you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh yes, Jeanne, those bows are just perfect now! They are more in scale and not too puffy like the first set of bows were! I just love the way the dress looks now! While I do love the dress without, these bows give it a certain “something” to make it extra special!
i love Lea’s hair-do too! With the two bows on each shoulder, another on top of her head would be too much, at least to me, but the thinner one at the back is just perfect!
We sure did have a storm Saturday night!! A small tornado touched down briefly close to my house and flipped a few cars on the highway. It wa pretty scary for awhile, but we came out unscathed. At least the yellow pollen falling from the tress got washed away!
Perfection on the bows. You should teach us how to tie! Mine are always a mess.
I am so glad you are ok, Linda! Tornadoes are really scary! Last week we were in Louisville a few hours after the shooting. I found out about it that night. Thanks to God we were safe!
Glad to hear that you were out of there before that happened, and are safe, Karen!
These bows are Much more in proportion with the doll and dress, and look much better than the others did, because of size as well as placement. The pink is a perfect match. I’m glad you decided to make them an option, though, as I still really like the dress without the bows!
Lea’s hair looks so pretty fixed that way! Now is Lea the doll that Rebecca found for you and you removed a shiny spot on her face? Am I remembering that correctly? Whatever the case, she’s a beautiful doll!!
It seems dolly fever has struck once again. I had seriously thought about the second Dorothy–such pretty hair!!–but decided I really wasn’t that much “in love” with her. Ditto Caroline (and a good thing–I heard she sold out in 15 minutes!). But I’d been seeing pictures of Alice (Siblie) that others had posted who had her, and of course then I thought, oh, gosh, I should have ordered her. So I went to the web site, and checked some of the other dealers, and found one! Even though it said “sold out”, the screen said there was one in stock, and I have gotten my order confirmation. Now I just hope I don’t get a call saying it was a mistake!! We shall see!
She looks very sweet in this. The smaller bows work much better. They are less overpowering.
Lea looks lovely. 🙂
The thinner ribbon with tails and moving the bows away from the neck really seems to work! Good job Jeanne. 🙂 I would love to see this pattern made for a Ruby Red.
So glad the tornado missed Linda’s place, and that Karen wasn’t near the Louisville shooting. Let’s keep safe everyone.
Around here still pulling weeds and blackberry. Ugh.
The latest RRFF girl Caroline will be heading here to meet up with her two younger siblings. They have been waiting a very long time for her. 🙂
Hi Joy, Pixie Faire has this pattern in RRFF size. I actually have had both the AG and Ruby one is my wishlist for months – along with a number of others 🙂
YES! That’s exactly what I meant for the bows when I commented on them the other day. I like them and think they add something to the dress. Of course, I also like doll clothes with lace, ruffles, bows, frills.
So glad to hear Linda and Karen are safe.
Lea looks sweet with the smaller bows. Love the way you styled her hair too.
A lovely look. So now what? Shoes? Tights? Hat? We will see😉
