Hi everyone! It’s a good thing Linda sent some Valentine’s Day pictures of her dolls, because Kristoffer came over to do a little more work on my computer, and it will be several hours before things are up and running again.
I was able to do today’s post and pictures from my phone.
Linda will tell you everything about her pictures.
Jeanne, here is a picture of my 40’s girls ready for Valentine’s Day!
Betsy just got this dress recently, so I decided to go with all pink for this group.
Here is the second picture. I went with ivory dresses this year with the modern girls. Emmy got the new dress recently, so that gave me the idea of gold and ivory for all three. All are American Girl dresses, and even Coconut has a Valentine outfit!
Here is Molly’s table all set for a Valentine breakfast! Somebody left a box of Russell Stover chocolates there too!
This setting is for Felicity, who is on the way! She always has a tea party awaiting her! What else can a Colonial girl do? She also has a box of chocolates there, and that cake is actually from Kit’s birthday party set.
Cecile and Kirsten are having a party too! Do you remember those pantalettes that you made, those frilly ones? I added the black velvet ribbon and rosebud to the bottom to match her dress. Kirsten is wearing her winter blouse and skirt, Cecile also in AG clothes, Nellie’s Christmas dress. We are having a lot of fun around here celebrating Valentine’s Day!
Felicity is finally arriving at her tea party! She is wearing her original Christmas dress, because she wore her red dress for Christmas, so I thought her red cape would do for Valentine’s Day. Can’t be wearing the same thing twice!
Thanks SO much Linda!!! What a wonderful treat for Valentine’s Day!!
See you tomorrow
Blessings, Jeanne
What a treat to see all your Valentine pictures, Linda!! Nice that we can click on them and enlarge them to see the details!! I really love Betsy’s pretty gown, as well as the dress on the girl behind her (Ruthie?).
The gold and ivory theme picture is lovely too–and I see even your little gnome has gotten into the Valentine spirit!!
All the tea party settings are just wonderful, and must have been such fun to set up! And Felicity finally arrived, too–I think the blue dress under the red cape is just fine.
Is that a tiny Betsy on the shelf behind her? Love that dress, too!! Thanks for sharing.
Yes, Charlotte, that is an 8-inch Betsy that stays in her pretty pink dress! She was a gift to me from my sister many years ago. She is too small for me to change all the time, plus her hair cannot be “fixed” or combed, so it is hard to change her up. She is pretty just standing there!
Yes, my “big” Betsy has Ruthie standing behind her, wearing AG Maryellen’s dress. It’s a very pretty and special dress!
The little gnome was just something I saw in the floral department of our grocery store, and I thought it would make a cute accessory for my dolls! Thank you for the all the compliments and I hope you and Ron have a special Valentine’s Day!!
Jeanne, I was in a rush to finish my comment, and forgot to thank you for showing my dolls! Happy Valentine’s Day to you and George!!
It is fun to see all your pictures, Linda! Thanks for sharing them. Whose set are the brown table and chairs from? Very nice. Happy St. Valentine’s day, everyone!
Thank you, Karen! That is Felicity’s table and chairs. I love them and just had to get them!
I was looking forward to your pictures, Linda. There is so much to look at with such wonderful settings!
I too love Betsy’s gown. It is beautiful! She a lucky little girl. What a nice gift from your sister all those years ago. All the girls look so festive in their outfits. It’s fun to peruse through your scenes. Thank you for sharing.
It’s been fun seeing two days worth of fun Valentine pictures with kitties and collectibles!
Thank you, Paula! i really do look forward to sharing my pictures, and have fun setting them up! Yes, Betsy is a lucky girl! She always seems to take the spotlight in most pictures!
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY TO MY SOFA SISTERS!!!
Not much planned for the day here. Valentine’s Day is so close to all the other events we have in December and January that it sort of goes unnoticed. But David and I did pick up a Cupid Cake at Dairy Queen the other night and I got a beautiful bouquet of coral-colored roses Sunday when we were out. My youngest sister will probably get some expensive piece of jewelry. It’s an expectation. Can’t wait to see what she gets this year.
Linda I love all your pictures. You do such a great job of presentation. I have my girls ready to go, just can’t decide how to pose them and I have a piece missing that is supposed to come today. Since I’ve gone to all the trouble to dress them (they say it was no trouble – for them) I really must do something. My Betsy is not speaking to me at the moment. She is usually so sweet but she doesn’t understand why she doesn’t have a beautiful pink gown to wear. Or anything new for that matter. Me too! That is wonder why she doesn’t have one. Maybe soon I’ll get back into my sewing room and see what I can do for her = and the others.
I have a 9″ “Baby Takes a Bow” collector Shirley Temple doll that stays dressed as she came. She is more fragile than my 8″ Shirley so 9″ Shirley is for display purposes only. Besides I just love the dress she is wearing.
Well I had a bit of a shock yesterday. Jaiden’s Wellie Willa had a leg come off. I tried contacting AG but got absolutely nowhere and never could speak to a real person. Then I was going to take her in to our store in Houston but wasn’t able to get in there before they closed down. So I emailed a woman at the doll hospital in north Houston. She wrote back telling me that the Wellies cannot be fixed. That the leg actually breaks off and they are attached to a plastic piece inside and there is no way to get in to fix it. I’m assuming she’s telling me the truth but she also sells AG 18″ and Wellie lookalikes and seemed to want me to bring Jaiden in and buy a doll from her. She does have a lovely shop in Old Towne Spring and I have been wanting to go to OTS at some point so maybe that will be my incentive. But it’s a good distance from me so it could be a two-day outing. I told David that’s what I wanted for my Mother’s Day present this year, to go see her shop. I’m pretty sure the thought made him have heart palpitations since he knows I won’t leave empty handed.
Hi Barbara, actually what you were told about the Wellie Wishers is true, especially if Jaiden’s Willa was the first one that came in the ladybug outfit. There were discussions on AGPT and the other doll board to that effect. They apparently aren’t strung the way PC/AG are. Call AG customer service and see if the doll hospital will still call this a defect.
Looking forward to seeing your photos. So sad Betsy is in a tiff. My dolls know they play second fiddle to the kitties so some haven’t changed in years, but they get kitty snuggles and don’t need to complain. 🙂
Thanks so much for telling me that there is a problem with the early Wellies. I have an early Camille but my Kendall and Jaiden’s Ashlynn are both recent. I think it’s lovely that your dolls share your affection with the kitties. That’s good for all of them. My son Jason took in one of our pasture kitties. He named it Clue. She shares a home with two dogs, one of them a Pit Bull. They all get along famously. Actually from what I’ve seen Clue is the boss.
Thank you Barbara! I will be waiting to see your dolls all dolled up for Valentine’s Day soon! I don’t thnk my Betsy is going to like taking off her new pink gown at all! That is a Robert Tonner designed dress that was made for her, and you can find them on Ebay all the time.
Is that what I have, a Shirley Temple doll with the “Baby Take a Bow” dress on? (the one right by Cecile’s face on a shelf) It was given to me, from a friend, and I know it is a Shirley Temple doll, but didn’t know what dress that was.
I hate to tell you this, but the first Wellies are known to have their limbs come off very easily, and AG fixed the problem, when they changed their meet outfits a year or two ago. Most dolls on Ebay are the older ones with that problem. I got my Emmy, who is in the modern doll group picture, after the change, and she is very sturdy. I wonder if AG would either fix her or give you a new one in exchange, that is, if you bought yours from them. Looks like Laura has also mentioned this below.
Oh my goodness!! Yes you have a “Baby Takes a Bow” Shirley. Isn’t she lovely. I didn’t even notice her I was concentrating on the Valentine girls. I see yours is for display purposes only too. Yikes, I have a Camille that I bought at the time I bought Jaiden’s Willa. Now that I understand that AG knows there is a problem, I will write them and see what they will do. Jaiden has an Ashlynn, but we got that one last summer when I took her to the AG store so I guess that one will be alright as will my Kendall bought at the same time. And thanks for the info on Betsy’s gown. She may get a pretty pink gown yet.
What a sweet treat to see your photos, Linda, with all your beautifully dressed girls and their wonderful accessories.
Betsy’s dress is just darling with its layered skirt. Susan, Ruthie, and Molly are finely dressed for a wonderful day. I really like the love letters strewn around. They look like they are felt. Coconut is adorable in her Cupid outfit. I bypassed that set, but it is super cute.
Chocolates for breakfast? Count me in!! Molly’s table is so colorful and pretty.
Felicity’s table is beautiful as well. Cecile and Kirsten look so sweet. Those are two of my favorite outfits I have. Their kitties are ready for a day of fun.
Felicity is lovely. She looks like a little red bird with her hair and cloak. Thank you so much for sharing HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY, everyone!!
Thank you, Laura! Yes, htose little love letters are felt, so they will last a long time and shouldn’t get mussed up that much! A dear friend sent them to me along with the satin puffed hearts that are also strewn around. Molly’s mother sure does set a pretty breakfast table, and yes, chocolates for breakfast are just the thing! After time in snowsuits, gloves, hats and scarves, I think they all are happy to be in their pretty dresses! The pets are always happy to be doing things with them too! Valentines Day is pretty fun around here!
Thanks Jeanne and Linda for sharing the fantastic Valentine photos. I was having internet problems earlier and couldn’t see the pictures, but now it is working again.
I love the pinks! Every dress is delightful. Is that dress in the back with the flowers at the neck AG? I’m sure it is, but does it identify with a specific girl?
The gold/ivory/red look is so festive. Everyone looks so happy. Pets included.
Molly’s table is fabulously set for a sweet way to start the day. Even mini waffles? So cute.
Felicity’s tea and cake setting with her table and chairs is wonderful. I love how she appears just in time for tea! 🙂
Cecile’s pantalettes, with your touch, go perfectly under her dress. She fits in so well with Kirsten and the little Valentine things you’ve added, including the kitties. A non decorators dream. I so love seeing your exquisite decorating and photos. 🙂
Thank you, Joy! Yes, the dress that Ruthie is wearing is an AG dress, belonging to Maryellen’s collection. The name of the dress, is Pretty Pink Dress, and it certainly fits the billing! I like how you notice a lot of the things that I put out! It certainly makes me feel happy to know that you and the others enjoy the pictures as much as I had fixing everything up!
I miss seeing your crew, and wonder when is the next time we will be seeing them?
Hi Jeanne,
I had to go back and look at the name I signed on with. (just ingrid b) with no spaces is what I joined gravatar.com with years ago. Hubby bought me a new computer recently and for whatever reason it signed me in automatically and I didn’t notice. So funny, Justin Grid b hahaha! I’ll be more aware from now on. I hope your PC issues are all fixed. It’s nice Kristoffer knows his way around computers.
Linda, as always your photo’s and your girls are lovely. I especially enjoyed the table settings, so pretty. I’d love Molly’s kitchen table and chairs but I’m afraid once I start collecting all the tiny little things to set a proper table there will be no stopping me! lol I think I’d better stick to drooling over your photo’s instead. I like your bird cage, is that a tiny bird inside? It’s really adorable!
Happy Valentine Day everyone
Hugs
Ingrid
Yes, Ingrid, that is Cecile’s birdcage and it comes with a tiny parrot! Of course, since Cecile is also retired from AG, the birdcage is too, but you can find it on Ebay……..for a price! Thank you for the kind words!
