So close… but Felicity will have to wait one more day!

Hi everyone,
I was doing fairly well trying to get Felicity’s dress set listed on Ebay, but someone stopped by right when I was taking a few more pictures. Then I had a hair appointment… I rushed home to try and get things finished so I could get it on Ebay… I got the pictures loaded but hadn’t even started working on my listing, when Rebecca and Karn called… they talked for 2 1/2 hours… by then it was almost 9:00, and too late to finish. :o(

I’ll show you the picture of all the items in this set, just to get you ready for it… :o)

BUT… as soon as they hung up, I grabbed something to eat, and finished my listing… it will go on Friday evening…

So… now I have nothing for a blog post… so someone start something to chat about… It’s WHAT’S ON YOUR MIND FRIDAY!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

You surely did have a busy day, Jeanne! I can see from the one picture (and from your previous pictures), everything is wonderful. But a person can only do so much in a day!!

Busy week here, this past week. I think at least two appointments or obligations every day, except tomorrow, when I am hoping to get some grocery shopping done so I can make Ron’s requested dinner for his 90th (!!!) birthday on Saturday. He thought Scalloped Potatoes and Weiners sounded really good, so that’s what it shall be. (I know…it’s supposed to be “Escalloped”, but it our house, when I was growing up, it was always “Scalloped”, and that’s how it is! 😂 ) Instead of ham, I layer sliced hotdogs between layers of potatoes and chopped onion, also sprinkle flour and a little salt/pepper in between, then pour milk over to about 1/3 the depth of the casserole, and bake for an hour. Top layer always Has to be hot dogs (and more slices than on other layers) because they get nicely browned, and SO good!! I make my big Pyrex casserole (2.5 qts.) full and it lasts 3-4 meals for us. (if you prefer to make a white sauce instead, you can certainly do it that way; I just do it the way mom did. No recipe!)

His birthday will be quiet; although we did a birthday celebration after church for his 80th, this year we really don’t know from one day to the next how he’s going to be, so….He is already asking me where I want to go for MY birthday, which is the following Saturday, though, so I think he’s determined to make that happen, anyway!!

I’m still waiting for my new Leeann doll; will send a picture or two when I get her. And I have some more new pictures of little Skyler, so will try to get a few off to Jeanne in the near future. Mother and baby were discharged from the hospital on Wed.,and doing well. Thanks for asking!

They were “scalloped” potatoes at our house too. I can’t remember when I learned different. My mother made them exactly like your mother did. My mother was great at making a white sauce but she did not do that for this cassarole.

Ron has the same birthday as my daughter-in-law, Dionne and grandson Azure. I wish Ron a wonderful 90th!

Oh Jeanne, that picture of the layout of this set is just wonderful! It looks like a whole wardrobe, and I know the quality of it is impeccable! I just hope my Felicity doesn’t see this or I will have a very sad Felicity! Your Felicity is going to be the same once she knows it isn’t hers for keeps!

Charlotte, we always called them “Scalloped Potatoes” too! Still do, although I don’t make them from scratch like you do, I just by the box version from Betty Crocker, and by the way they are also called “Scalloped Potatoes” right on the front of the box! Happy birthday to Ron!

I have nothing exciting going on right now, and thank heavens for that! I rather like it when things slow down after the holidays, to give me a break, but I am busy organizing things here at home, which is never-ending!

Around our house celebrating starts with Sean’s birthday 10/14. Then there is Thanksgiving in November; Christmas, my birthday and Jaiden’s birthday in December; New Year’s, David’s birthday, our anniversary and Dionne and Azure’s birthdays in January. By this time I’m as depleted as my wallet.

    2. Jeanne, I forgot to mention, that some might like the flowers in the front of the hat, and they could easily do that, since the ribbon is exactly in the middle of the hat. You might want to show it that way too.

Really enjoying seeing the sun come up over the mountains this morning after so many clouded days. It might be dry enough today ground wise to work on installing our new post light. It keeps getting put on the back burner. We’ll see.
I’ve been looking at the Americana RRFF girls that are still available at some dealers in the U.S. They are cute. 🙂

On my mind. How lovely those items look just all lined up, sure can’t wait to see them on your eager ‘model’! And happy for you getting to talk to your daughter and son in law😍

Wow what a busy day you had yesterday, Jeanne. But it sounds like it was all good. Looking forward to seeing the listing on eBay. I don’t have a doll for this wonderful outfit, but I do enjoy watching the auction.

  6. Your outfit and all its accessories are amazing. It’s so enticing seeing them all laid out like that. Such a beautiful set!
Happy birthday to Ron – and to all the others with recent birthdays and birthdays coming up! Including you, Charlotte!
We also call the potato dish, scalloped potatoes. Charlotte’s recipe sounds great. It must be a lot of slicing potatoes though. I use Betty Crocker’s scalloped potatoes but will add extra cheese and sometimes bits of Jelopenos. Still, nothing is a good as homemade scalloped potatoes – with or without cheese.
Our son, Adrian is visiting us for 2 weeks. It’s wonderful to be with him. He brought along his computer and works during the day three days a week and the other two days he is taking as vacation days. Since Covid hit, his office group work at home so this allowed him to come and visit us and work here.
    Everyone, enjoy your day!

  7. Paula…you are lucky to have your son visit for that long.
Charlotte making Ron his favorite meal is so sweet. Yes, we called them Scalloped too☺️
We have that group of celebrations too. So many birthdays in late Nov to Jan 1 that we get together the first weekend in Dec for a Pizza Party to celebrate them all. Each family brings their favorite pizza and we have a huge salad with veggies..and Birthday cake of course. My hubby, my sister, my son, his wife, one of my grandsons and me.
Jeanne this is just a lovely ensemble. Love the way you laid them out to do the photo too. Hope Rebecca gets to come and visit soon☺️
