Lobster Bisking…how can this be a sewing post?

Hi again,
A certain little guy at Deb’s house is bringing us todays post…

Deb has a new little puppy named Jeffy that deserves his 15 minutes of fame and I think he just might get them today. He has certainly given us hours of laughter the last few days and I hope you will enjoy these pictures…

This is what Jeffy looked like this morning…

Deb said he was overdue for a visit to the groomers, so we dropped him off and did a little bit of shopping… Cindy was better today, but we took it easy today so we didn’t wear her out…

When we picked up Jeffy, he looked quite different…

Jeffy had a toy lobster that was just minutes away from being put in the trash because it had been loved just a “little too much!”

I thought I could alter it and still keep it as a toy for Jeffy…just modified a bit.

So Deb got me some scissors, thread and a needle and I started cutting the lobster apart…making sure to keep his favorite part… the squeaker!

The best part was when we noticed how intent Jeffy was watching me as I worked on his toy…

I don’t think he ever took his eyes off my hands as I sewed…

When I was finally done piecing it together, he was SO excited… he did the Happy Doggy Dance… (just like WE do the Happy Dolly Dance when we get a new doll!)

He ran around like a jack rabbit, back and forth, slinging it in his mouth and happy as could be.
He was like a wild dog and just kept going and going! We didn’t think he was ever going to stop. It was so much fun to watch him!!!

I was trying to think of a title for a post like this and Deb thought of Lobster Bisking… why? Their last name is Bisking, and after all, this WAS about a lobster!!!

Oh, and Jeffy had one more thing to add…

“Thank you Aunt Jeanne, for fixing my lobster!!”

I thought you might like to see Deb’s dining room… just this one picture says it all…but her whole house is just as beautiful!!

I truly enjoyed my getaway with my sisters and feel refreshed and ready to start my new year!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Jeffy is just as cute as can be, Jeanne, and yes, he certainly was watching you intently while you were fixing his favorite toy!! So cute!! That should give him some more playtime with it!!

I’m glad to hear that Cindy is feeling better, and hopefully will be fit for travel when you and she head back home!

What a cute little dog, Jeanne! Jeffy looks so playful and well taken care, of, which I am sure he is! How nice of you to “fix” Mr. Lobster, so he can have more fun with him! What kind of dog is he? He is just adorable!

I’m glad to hear that Cindy is doing better! Deb has a beautiful dining room, and do I see GREEN grass and trees out the window? Maybe that is an evergreen tree, but our scenes outside look nothing like that! We have an overload of brown, and live only 4 hours away!!

I like Jeffy’s curls 🙂 That is really neat he was watching you the whole time you were fixing his lobster and that he was so excited afterwards 🙂 Sounds like a loveable little dog! Glad your sister is feeling better and that you are rested 🙂

So glad to hear that your sister is feeling better. Must have been awful for her.
Thank you and Deb for sharing the dining room pic. I can certainly see that the decorating bug has landed there as well as at Cindy and Jeanne’s. Love the walls, rug, window treatment, and lovely view to the outdoors. 🙂
Wow, Jeffy is a cutie and smart as well. Loved the concentration pics while you were working on “his” special toy lobster. I’m sure your work was greatly appreciated. 🙂
Hope everyone is staying warm and well. 🙂

I have my dolly story of yesterday to share, but first, I, too, am so very happy to hear Cindy is on the mend and hope the rest of you stay well.

As a dog lover, this post just made my day! Jeanne, what you did for that little guy was utterly lovingly fabulous. He is going to love you forever. Awww. Really tugged my heartstrings.

So, my dolly story of yesterday that I already shared with Joy, had to do with the arrival of Fierce Sabrina, Jana’s 4th doll of the collaboration. She was supposed to arrive today when I was pretty certain my hubby would be away hiking or doing food distribution so the coast would be clear when she came. Then I got the notice she would be coming yesterday. Ugh. Now my delivery spot is a lot easier to pull off interceptions than Joy’s situation, but still. All December deliveries were smooth, and believe me, I am so grateful, but this month is going to be huge. 😬

Yesterday, being after a Monday holiday, meant delivery would be slowed up, and heaven knows the poor postal service is fraught with enough troubles. Hubby went to an eye appointment. No delivery. He went to Safeway. No delivery. He took the older dog for a walk and those walks are usually long. (I walk the younger dog but had not for the previous two days because I felt icky.) Even though it was 32, cloudy and windy, I hitched up Sug and decided we would walk over behind the PO building to see what the action looked like. All the trucks were out but my carrier’s which was all packed up. He was walking down the ramp to his truck. Knowing our house is one of his first stops, I told Sug we would head on home. We were getting out of the PO lot on Third and I planned to turn the corner on D. As we came out of the PO lot, what did we see? Good old Jimbo (hubby) and Sug walking up D in the direction like going home. Sug noticed them and her ears were all perked up, but I figured, correctly, that if we stood stock still and made no sound, we wouldn’t be seen by those two. When they walk, sparks come out from their heels, let me tell you. Truly!

So. Was he doing a shorter walk because it was unpleasant out? Would he beat us back home. Oh please! Not that!

I told Sug we were going to hot foot it home even though we are slow walkers. I took a different route so I could keep my eyes open for hubby and Kip and still not get detected. Truth be known, I could likely drive by him in a tank and he wouldn’t notice the tank, he is so focused and hard of hearing, poor dear.

We turned the corner onto G and there was our dear carrier, David, just putting the doll box on the chair of the porch. A little chitchat with David because he is the one carrier Salida has left who is going to stay and is reliable. A gem of a guy. We get to the door, I picked up the doll, opened the door….no Kip to greet us, so they were still out on the street making their sparks!! Sug and I slid into the warmth of the house, and Sabrina got put in the closet until hubby was in bed. Whew. Dodged that bullet, thank goodness, because there are 4 more boxes coming this month, two boxes being doubles. Every stroke of luck finds me so very, very grateful. (BTW, really enjoying Sabrina. She’s a pistol.)

Have a super day, ladies, and hope we see pics of new babies and dolls before long. I want to see Marilyn’s new AG twins, too.

Jeanne, I thought today’s sewing post was one of the very best ever because I love dogs so. You are such a sweetie and made that dog’s heart soar! 🙌🥰 Big hugs.

Absolutely love this story. First of all, Sally, stalking the actual post office to check up on deliveries. So funny. And then while walking towards home, almost running into husband and other dog while trying to get back before them. What an amazing situation and so well played. Dolly inside hidden away, and good old Sugar never yipped the secret! 🙂

      1. Jeffy can be glad Aunt Jeanne visited to help fix his favorite toy! He is so cute…just a perfect little guy.
I read the story of Sally’s latest doll delivery to my sister who always looks at me sideways when I talk about dolls. She had a good laugh and I told her about Jeanne and the Sofa Sisters. She still gives me grief about dolls…and I probably do have too many …but at least the Sofa Sisters. “ get it” Fhank you ladies😍

That’s one of the beauties of this blog, isn’t it Kathie? We all “get it!” 👍🥰 Glad you and your sister got some chuckles.

  6. Yesterday was my daughter’s birthday so I was busy celebrating with her.
I’m glad Cindy is feeling better today and you could get back to enjoying things. Jeffy, IMO was adorable in the first photo. Personally, I love the fluffy look. So happy that the well loved Lobster can play for many more days.
Deb’s dining room is lovely. The rug is so pretty and I love the star over the window for Christmas.

So glad your sister Cindy is feeling much better Jeanne and that you had a wonderful time visiting with your sisters. I loved this post of Jeffy the dog. Can you come to my house and repair all of my Ellie’s toys that she has chewed up? I have decided not to give her anymore stuffed toys because they do not last very long. She had a Gumby squeaky toy with a Santa hat on from my son for Christmas and a Little Lamby Pie, Lamb Chops with a birthday hat on and two front paws that matched the birthday hat and she destroyed them both within hours of receiving them. She is getting in her new teeth at 5 mos old now on Christmas Eve she turned 5 mos, but I don’t understand why she is acting like she is teething all the time? This is my first experience with a new puppy. My husband has taught her how to play with a child’s soccer ball. When he throws it to her she jumps up and hits it with her nose and it bounces back into his hands. It is so adorable I can’t stop laughing. She is very very athletic for such a young age. I hope you and your family are having the best New Year’s and hopefully you will see your daughter and son in law soon for their Christmas at your house?

So glad to hear Cindy is back on her feet. It will probably take awhile for her full strength to return but at least she gets to enjoy most of her time with her sisters. Debs dining room is lovely.

How clever with the name for the post. I thought it was cute even before I knew the whole story. How sweet of Jeffy’s Aunt Jeanne to see how much he loved his lobster toy and extend its life for him. The toy really is cute and I love lobsters, even the inedible kind.

I need to tell my “bee” story. I do not like seeing any of God’s creatures in distress and will help if I can. One day I was at the pool with the grandkids and saw a bee struggling in the water. I got one of their toys and put it under the bee and lifted it out of the water and set the bee on the side of the pool. I watched over it so that no one stepped on it or tried to kill it. After a few minutes I saw it stand up and fan its wings to dry them. An amazing sight. Once they were dry the bee lifted up and started to fly away. But (and I swear this is true) it turned around, came back and hovered in front of my face as if to thank me. I said you are most welcome and away it flew. It was a good day – for me and definitely the bee.

    1. Love your bee story. Now I don’t feel silly because I actually put out water for bees in a clay saucer with glass beads so they can land and sip.
