Thank you Sally, for the last 2 days of sharing with us, your glorious collection of Ruby Red Fashion Friends dolls. We ALL loved seeing them and ooohhhing and aaaahhhhhing …some of us even drooled over them! Thank you too for answering all the comments left for them. I appreciate that, because I am now in the middle of getting things ready for the hayride Saturday night… I’m doing the caramel apples and don’t have that big of a part in the hayride, but I still have things that have to be done… After the hayride, I HAVE to get this wedding dress alteration finished…and then I think I’m FREE! Well, I will have a couple’s Christmas party to probably plan, but that’s a ways off… well, not really, but I’m not going to worry about it right now…
I told you there would be more pictures from Sally today… she had one more group, but she asked me today if I could wait on them…that the quality of the pictures weren’t that great and she’d like to retake them… I told her, “no problem!” This gives us something to look forward to!
So then it was up to ME to come up with a post for today…and I did…
Remember I told you had a couple of surprises to share in the near future? Well, today is the day for one of them…
When Rebecca was here back in August, we came up with a plan for some necklaces for the Ruby Red Fashion Friends and today I’m going to show them…
They are on a wire that goes around the RRFF dolls necks and there is no clasp or fastener…they fit perfectly and all you have to do is take your fingers on both hands, pull them slightly apart, slide them on your dolls neck, and viola! That’s it… to take them off, using both hands, take your fingers, pull them slightly apart, and remove them from your dolls neck. Please use both hands, so the wire that is springy, doesn’t snap on your dolls neck. Just remember… USE BOTH HANDS for ON and OFF!
Now let’s see what I’ve got to show you… They would definitely look nicer with clothes on the dolls, but *alas” I don’t have any clothes for mine… they spend their lives naked, waiting for their turn to model! :o)
If you click on the pictures, they will enlarge.
Here they are laid out so you can see them all together…
…and a close up…
PLEASE NOTE: I used the wrong size wire for #13 so I’ll be redoing it…
Now, for the particulars.. I am going to sell them like I did the beaded headbands… (which I still have some)
1 necklace is $8.00
2 necklaces are $14.00
3 necklaces are $20.00
4 necklaces are $25.00
All the necklaces will have FREE SHIPPING!
You can email me using the “Contact Me” tab at the top of my website or leave a comment below if you’d like to have one…
I have LOTS more beads for more, but for now, this is all I have made up…
I hope you enjoy seeing them…
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
OH, what pretty necklaces, Jeanne!! So hard to choose…I think at this point my favorite is the one with the pale green rose (#3) but I love #10 and #14, also!!
Sally asked yesterday about my 16″ Julie Good-Kruger dolls. Julie did also make 22″ dolls, Sally, so perhaps that’s what you have. I do have one of those (can’t remember her name offhand, but I can look for you)–she is so beautiful, I have never taken her out of her box! The rest of her dolls that I have are the 16″ size, such as Puddle Jumper (who I named Penny Jocelyn)–my friend Daria had one first, and she has such a “character” face, I decided I needed one, too! Daria’s was named Portia Joelle, but was usually referred to as “PJ” or “Pidge”. I think she was Daria’s alter ego!! What fun we had with our dolls! It ended up about 5 of us had these 16″ dolls, and we had Halloween parties, and Daria’s and my PJs went climbing trees one time, and we even set up a 4th of July parade! I need to find those pictures and scan them onto a disc or memory card some day. I’ll have to go somewhere and do it, though, as I don’t have a scanner.
Anyway, Daria was my one adult friend I could “play dolls” with, and we had a blast! Our dolls would even write notes to each other, complaining about bothersome sisters, etc.!! Sadly, we lost Daria about 15 years ago, at the age of 60; she had a massive heart attack. She had been a heavy smoker. I still miss her.
BTW, Julie is on FB, and we are FB friends now!
Dear Charlotte, I missed the earlier comment about Julie Good-Kruger. She had a presence here in PA a while back. I am not sure if she is still here.
The theme for a recent program at our local doll club was “You’ve Got A Doll in Pennsylvania.” I know that the grammar is incorrect but the theme was a play on our old state license plate motto, “You’ve Got A Friend in Pennsylvania.”
In any case, one of our members who was part of the panel making the presentation talked about her Julie Good-Kruger doll and about going to Julie’s shop and meeting her a while back.
I have two Good-Krugers. I have a photo of them somewhere. I will email the photo to Jeanne and maybe we will have a Good-Kruger day.
Oh, and Charlotte Noelle, your namesake, is reading your comment over my shoulder. She says, “sisters should always share with each other.” Just now Selah, said sister, walked by with one of her books. Charlotte Noelle said, “Mama, Selah has my book. Selah, give me my book. Mama, make Selah give me my book!”
I am signing off now because I suddenly feel the need for a strong cup of tea.
Oh, Dorothy….😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
I remember when my sister and I were visiting my Nanna once and we must have both got up on the “wrong side of the bed” one morning. My grandmother just looked at us and said gosh you two girls are sure in a foul mood today. Sorry Nanna we both said with chagrin. That was all she had to say to put an end to it. Nanna was the best and we didn’t like seeing her unhappy with us.
What a pretty surprise, Jeanne! You never cease to amaze me on what you do, dollwise or not! These necklaces are exactly what doll owners like, something easy to put on! The older we get, the harder it is for many of us to dress our dolls! Necklace clasps are among the hardest to do, especially when they are for the smaller dolls. I was wondering, what is the circumference of these necklaces, since I don’t have a RRFF, but do have a Betsy McCall and a Wellie Wisher? I am sure others would also want to know if they fit the dolls that are similar in size.
The amount of leaves around here on the ground is ridiculous, and with that rainy day Tuesday, they are still soaking wet! I hope we can make some kind of headway soon and get them cleared up before another round falls! ☹️
What a nice surprise with all the pretty necklaces, Jeanne. You are so talented and our girls are always so excited to see what you are making!
I’m sure some of them will have them on their Christmas list!
I have trouble buckling some of my doll’s shoes, especially when they have holes to poke that little metal thing through or little beads to push through holes like some of my 8 inch doll shoes. I love when they have velcro or the strap just pulls through.
Very clever necklaces. I’d like to see one worn with an outfit. And, like Linda, the circumference. I’m sure these will be on all of the dolly Christmas lists. 🙂
I finally had success yesterday and found some spiderweb and spiders at the party store. Never would have thought to look there, but Google directed me. 🙂 Now to make the project.
Thinking of the wet leaves at Linda’s house. Here, we too have the leaves from our sycamore trees spiraling to the ground. Only thing, they are dry, crinkly, and a complete fire hazard. The weather people keep showing systems, but so far, none has dropped down far enough from the north to bring us any moisture. Maybe next week.
Dear Jeanne, the necklaces are so pretty and dainty! I am sure that there are some dollies out there jumping up and down with glee at the possibility of getting one of these lovely necklaces.
Next up — a series of necklaces for Betsy and the WW’s. Also, quickly choose two to make RRFF Christmas outfits for. An all white dress for a RRFF would be very pretty. 2 would go nicely with a Victorian outfit. What a good idea this was.
Right now we are getting rain mixed with our first snow.
Jeanne, you sure did come up with something. These necklaces are really very eye catching and the fact that you have made them easy to put on and remove is an enormous bonus. Wonderful!
Good luck on that wedding dress. It looked like it had all potential for being a major headache. But then, you have super ideas.
Yes, Charlotte and Dorothy, those Good-Kruegers were really character dolls. I had several that came in beautiful Christmas outfits and they would grace a huge mantle along with some AGs. The parade sounds like a hoot; I am sorry for the loss of that wonderful, fun friend.
Brenda, I only saw your comment from yesterday this morning and made a short reply. Thanks so much.
Dorothy, I felt your pain having to hear your girls have an early morning spat. Hope the tea and a stern eye brought them to their very best.
Have a rootin’ tootin’ day, ladies.
Hi Sally,
Thank you for the kind offer to show me Gabriela in a dark wig. I would love to see that combination. You are welcome to ask Jeanne for my email address.
Have a lovely day! We have sunshine. YAY!
You are always full of surprises. Those girls do need their own necklaces so what a display you have already😉 Lots of colors and a variety of beads.
Crossing fingers for rain here…we are 8” short😳
The necklaces are really nice and I’m sure my dollies will want one to dress up the outfits.
My dad sent me a box of Roger’s Chocolates Est. 1885 Victoria Cremes from Victoria, BC for a Halloween treat. Yummy! Can I eat just one?
Lots of leaves to start raking around here. Filled two big cans this morning so far.
Oops, that should have said all dollies will want one. Except for one thing, I have been on a strict no doll expenses since early in the year and my RRFF luckily came with a necklace which she never takes off. 🙂
I’m finally joining the conversation from the absolutely beautiful eastern Tennessee area. We are staying in Erwin near Johnson City and love it. Lovely fall colors and great weather, except for the one day we went to Jonesborough. It reminded me of a Texas winter day, cold, breezy and damp. Otherwise the weather has been beautiful. But I have spent too many days nursing a cold that started showing up the few days I was at my sisters in West Virginia. The first couple days here I slept most of the day. David said he always wondered what it would be like being on vacation with Sleeping Beauty. Fortunately he loves to read.
We have managed to do a lot of things in spite of my infirmity and it nothing else we could enjoy the beauty of the area. Yesterday we drove to Pigeon Forge for an all-you-can-eat seafood buffet. The food was horrible and overpriced, but the drive was lovely. And I learned one thing in the process. Pigeon Forge (home of Dolly Parton) is a tourist trap of the first nature. It doesn’t remotely represent the place where she grew up. She has done wonders for the area herself, but others have jumped on the bandwagon and exploited the area a lot. But we have decided the next time we come we will stay in Sevierville near Pigeon Forge because there are a lot of things we’d like to see like Smokey Mountain National Park and the moonshine museum. We are very much enjoying learning about the marvelous history of Tennessee. It’s an amazing state.
I love all these necklaces and it was difficult picking the ones I did. I changed my mind several times. Of course, not being home, I couldn’t get input from my RRFFs so I had to wing it and hope for the best.
We leave tomorrow for the two-day trek back home. I’m looking forward to getting back home and my sewing room but I must admit I wish that sewing room were here. And I have a new dolly daughter, L’il Dreamer Ashlynn awaiting my return. Plus I’m anxious to see the progress on my addition.
