First peek at my next doll outfit…

This truly is just a peek… my sewing time was limited today…but at least I got started…

Violette is super excited that I’m starting on her debut outfit… I hope this one goes off without a hitch…

Here’s a quick look at the skirt I have started for her…

It’s a flannel houndstooth check…

Here is another clue for this set…

That’s it for today…sorry it’s not more… stay tuned… :o)

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. First of all, I just looked and Samantha’s outfit now has FOUR bids!! Woohoo!!

Love Violette’s skirt. And she’s holding….leather? Maybe some boots or a purse??? Hm….

Jeanne, I LOVE houndstooth check anything, and this is just perfect! Do the pleats go all around the back? There was some grumbling about the American Girl Harry Potter costume with a pleated skirt that was pleated only in the front, but the picture never did show that it wasn’t. Knowing you, I can’t believe it isn’t pleated all the way around!

Red leather! Boots, and purse are all i can think of, and what could be on the top? A white blouse and black jacket with touches of red?? A perky red tam for her hair?? The mystery deepens!

    1. Violette will be sweet no matter what you make her. Love houndstooth check…a favorite double breasted coat dress I had for one Easter was sure a special outfit I had in my 20’s. I’d wear it now if I still had it😉
Hummm red shoes and purse…or a red leather vest? I’m sure Violette is getting acquainted…wait till she finds out she doesn’t get to keep this cool outfit😳

  3. Love black and white, especially when there’s a pop of strong color..red is my favorite too! She looks gorgeous, Jeanne,..can’t wait to see the finished outfit!

I’m flying to Oklahoma City very early tomorrow morning to attend the MDCC Convention. SO excited to go see everyone again, and of course, the dolls and sales room! Im taking 4 travel dolls…little Stella Lowe, Effner Little Darling, a sweet Boneka repainted by Helen Skinner and Meadowdolls Saffi Dumpling.
They are already packed and ready to go! me…not so much ! LOL

How exciting that you get to go to Oklahoma City. So wish I could go to a convention some day. Looks like there will be lots of exciting things to see around the city as well as the sales room. Maybe you can send Jeanne some photos of the excitement to share with us? 🙂 I was able to purchase a Nunnu, tiny thing, yesterday. She should be here soon. 🙂

    2. So glad you are on the way to a convention. They are the most fun a doll lover can have. Is this one always in Oklahoma? Please share some pictures🤗

I think the leather would make a great backpack which would go with a black blazer and cute white blouse. 🙂
Has Jeanne sewn for the Barbie, Kelly size dolls? Any tips on sewing for tinies?

Miss Violette is revving her engine as your newest fashionista, Jeanne. Wheeee!
Great work on the Samantha set. I think it is mighty, mighty fine. I, too, thought your doll a particularly lovely Samantha,
Shara, have a blast and do send Jeanne some pics. Happy shopping.
Congrats on another doorstep challenge, Joy! 😆

  6. Oh, I love houndstooth for two reasons. One, it was a traditional cloth pattern where my relatives are from in Scotland and two, it was a popular fabric choice in the 1980’s when i was a teen. 😉 I guess Violette will get shoes and a purse with the red leather.
Busy watching Queen Elizabeth’s funeral yesterday and other important tasks. Love my British heritage as well. 🙂

Laura, it sounds like you and I have a lot in common heritage wise. My family is from Scotland, Ireland and Wales via England in some cases, so I just say I have British heritage.
