~ Fireworks Frenzy ~ is now listed on Ebay…

I did it! I did it! I got Lian’s red, white and blue dress listed on Ebay this evening… in between cooking dinner and my hubby napping. I took a few more pictures today and was wanting to get some outside shots, but that never materialized… maybe next time.

Anyway, I found a fun “treat” for the winner and Lian was thrilled… she said it was perfect with her dress set. I thought so too! :o)

You can see the listing by clicking the picture at the right side or click HERE.

I got out a piece of fabric that looks like a plank floor, ironed it and put it down on my table… I think it’s cute. I also put some blue tulle behind the windows…

I’m sorry, but that’s all I have for today…

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Congrats on getting Lian’s outfit listed! I’m glad you were able to use the word Fireworks in the title. I wasn’t sure how you would work that out, but it turned out great. (I think I Might have been the first or maybe second to say something about fireworks…) She looks as adorable as can be in her pretty dress!

Just to let you all know, I think we are Finally going to get some summer out here in the Seattle area! By the weekend we should be in the mid-80s!! Woohoo!! I’ll finally be warm! I think this year we’ve had 6 months of winter, one week of spring, and then summer!! 😂🤣😂

Lian is ready for the Fourth from head to toe! What an adorable set, Jeanne, and those Cracker Jacks sure do add to the final touch! She can play with her little bear, while her Mommy can enjoy some treats!

I love the “wooden” floor, and blue background behind the screen too! Looks so patriotic and catchy!

Summer has arrived today, and did it ever! It is going to be hot, hot, HOT today, so staying in will be the thing to do.

That “floor” works perfectly. Everything about Lian’s outfit comes together just right. And the Cracker Jacks are perfect in mood and color. It’s too late for Ebay, but get a couple of outdoor shots for your records — maybe one with the chickens.

    Happy solstice, everyone!

Glad you were able to get Lian’s dress listed. Perfect timing for the scary upcoming holiday. I say that because of the crazy people here who think that setting off illegal fireworks is part of the holiday. With our extreme fire danger, it is just nuts to even think of doing that. Fire department will be on alert. But, Lian will look lovely celebrating at a picnic with her family and enjoying the music at the bandstand. 🙂
I’m working on that crazy day bed that came with RRFF Venus. I’m making a base for the mattress so it will be a bit higher and also redoing the canopy. I need to make a trip to Home Depot to get some wire to make it more stable. The plastic pieces that came with it, are not working for me. We’ll see if that happens today because we’re in for a scorcher. My poor little plants are going to need a dunking several times today I think. Oh, and I did get caught with Venus. The UPS person had left her just behind the porch railing, and when we returned home, other person was right behind me coming up the steps. I sort of stopped and stood there carrying some items and hoped that he wouldn’t notice the box, but old eagle eye somehow spotted it. Ugh. 🙁

Dear Joy, oh no, you were busted! You can always say it was a gift from a friend because we are all our own best friends, right?

I think I told you that I knew someone who used to have her doll purchases sent to a friend’s house. Then she and the friend would meet for lunch or coffee. She would put the dolls in the trunk of her car and take them inside the house when her husband was out running errands.

Good luck with your next “mission” (smile).

That is a great idea, but wouldn’t want to bother anyone doing that. It is hard to change a delivery address as well. At least for me anyway. I believe that something else in a doll sized box will come up again soon. Maybe my luck will change. 🙂

  5. Lian could not be cuter. Everything’s out her outfit is awesome. The fabric you found that looks like flooring is so clever. I think it should be a permanent😉 part of your photo shoot area.
How many pairs of flip flops have you made?😉 Hope they make your Etsy store a busy place.
Gosh Joy …sounds like the bed needs more than just a simple assembly. Hope we get to see photos☺️

I hope each day gets easier and easier. Lian’s outfit came together very nicely. Amazing that you got it listed with all that is going on with you and George. Many prayers.

Fireworks Frenzy is the perfect outfit for the upcoming 4th of July holiday. I love the “floor”. I’ve got all kinds of fabric for things like sky, water and grass but no planking. I didn’t even realize there was such a thing. I’ll be doing a search. I’m always looking for something with the appearance of flooring when I do my dioramas.

We have a burn ban here in my county right now. We don’t have fireworks here on the 4th but many do not follow the local laws for personal fireworks and I don’t think the burn ban is going to make a difference. It’s a culture thing for some. New Year’s Eve and July 4th I always go to bed to the tune of fireworks because some do not pay attention to the law in the city. This year it will make me more nervous than usual.

I haven’t heard anything about the fireworks being cancelled in Houston, but they usually take place in shopping centers on their big parking lots and the fire department is always there even on years where we are not dry like we are now. One year during the drought they banned all fireworks here. We were on vacation in Michigan at that time and they had no drought there. We took a dinner cruise through the Soo Locks and then the boat docked on the other side of the lake and we got to watch the fireworks from the boat. It was so enjoyable I would love to do it again.

Being nearly 100% Celtic I echo Marilyn’s wish for a Happy Solstice. Hard to believe we’ve already reached the point where the days will be getting shorter. Seems like it was just New Year’s Day.

I am so glad you managed to find a little time for yourself even if it was putting Lian’s outfit on EBay. I see you have one bid already.

Over here I am celebrating passing the shortest day lol. Even though I know the worst of the winter is still to come just the fact the days are getting just that little bit longer is enough to make me feel better. Not warmer though!

This weekend is Matariki, Maori New Year. (Matariki is the Pleiades star cluster). It is a public holiday this year for the first time. It is a time for Maori to remember their loved ones who have died during the year and honour them. I don’t know a lot about it but I am sure I will know more after this weekend.

Do you find fireworks in July at all odd? At least you celebrate then for a reason, I guess. Since I grew up in UK, I always associate fireworks with winter and Guy Fawkes night (or sometimes just called bonfire night), On November 5th 400 years ago! Guy Fawkes tried to blow up parliament and the then King (I think Charles the second), he was caught before he could do it and burnt at the stake. Why they would celebrate that 400 years later I have no idea but I find it even more surprising that it is still celebrated here. These days it is more for the children but November is not far from the longest day, it is still light at 9.30 much too late for most of the children so the fireworks get let off in daylight! As for most people they have no idea what it is all about and wouldn’t care if they did. Fireworks aren’t allowed to be sold until late in October and from then on you hear them fairly regularly. till they run out and can’t buy any more! We too have issues with dangerous behaviour and it doesn’t sit well when we have drought conditions either, not to mention the poor animals who sometimes get fireworks tied to them and lit or the stupid people who think it is funny to throw them at people, grr. If I never saw or heard another firework I wouldn’t care.

I’m with you Anne on the fireworks. When our town was smaller, they always used to have a local display with free admission for the 4th of July. As kids we maybe had a few sparklers at home, but now, those who like the noise and danger from starting a wildfire, set them off all of the time as well as shoot guns. They also seem to go along with the those who gather in groups and spin doughnuts at intersections, stopping traffic, and leaving behind circles of stinking rubber to decorate the pavement. Obviously, not my kind of fun, but I feel most badly for pets and wildlife who are left cowering, even inside. It’s awful. Even though fireworks are banned here, people still defy the law and set them off anyway. Sadly, the police are often outnumbered. 🙁

Dear Jeanne, the ensemble looks adorable. Lian looks proud to be the model.

Happy First Day of Summer! There are only 323 days until May (laugh).
