I was a busy girl today… and I can prove it! Stick around and see for yourself.
If only you could each visit my house and see Nyssa’s dress on her in person… you would all love it! It’s bright and so colorful and fits her so well, and looks excellent with her skin coloring. I always knew when I got this fabric back in December 2020, that it would look fantastic on Nyssa… anyone remember this picture I showed?
She looks just a pretty now as she did then… Here’s what I got finished today…
Her purse… it has a little jewelry finding that works perfectly for running the tab through!
Her slip…
Her bralette…
Her headband… It fastens in back with a larger 1/2″ magnetic snap. Super easy to put on… YAY!
…and all together…
I don’t generally have favorties when I make my doll clothes, but when I do, I do! I LOVE this one on Nyssa… it might be too matchy-matchy for some, but to me, it is just right! I can’t tell you, or show you, just how adorable Nyssa is in this… but she is!
I’m working at the Food Pantry today, but hopefully, I’ll get this listed on Ebay… (I’ll try my best!)
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh, yes, Jeanne, I love this outfit, too–every part of it! Almost makes me wish I had a Nyssa myself!
Today was the start of the big Puyallup Sewing Expo–but, of course, it was virtual again this year, and I don’t do virtual, so I am doing some other things that are sewing-related and, at least in some cases, not every-day sorts of things. I’ll be posting on FB for those that are my FB friends; I can send some pictures after the weekend is over, if you think others would like to see them.
Freida is a little miffed because suddenly I am sewing something for myself, and her new dress is on the back burner for the moment! But I promised her I would try to get more done on it as soon as I’ve finished this one thing, so I hope that will satisfy her! Well, that and the promise of some new shoes! 😂
Nyssa’s outfit is really lovely, Jeanne! The purse and her headband are wonderful additions. What’s really special is her slip and bralette are included.
I have to say, I don’t care for the “ crayon orange” color but I love the darker burnt orange color you’ve used.
It’s very appealing to me. I’ve always like the burnt orange color whether it’s fall leaves, or the bittersweet my mother always decorated with, as well as it’s a good color in clothing.
I like how the burnt orange is sprinkled around with the other colors in the print of Nyssa’s dress too. The purse and shoes are the perfect, what I call, burnt orange. It’s also the perfect color with Nyssa’s hair.
The whole outfit is beautiful, bright and cheerful!
Nyssa looks wonderful, I do like the material. It amazes me all the fabric I have and everyone else that sews you come up with material I have never seen before. You put it together just right, I didn’t like the first blue waistband and then with the blue jacket the orange is perfect. Also I would like a pair of those comfy shoes. Now let’s hope the other 83 persons needs a new dress for their Nyssa! Have a good day!
What a darling accompaniment the purse is with the shoes, Jeanne! I would say that knowing how to work with leather shoes helps with making the purse, and those perfect stitches. Everything matches up perfectly, I like matchy- matchy !
I am not a fan of dolls with scowling faces, but I was wondering if that outfit might fit on another doll, since there aren’t too many Nyssa’s out there. She looks similar in size to RRFF dolls. It seems a shame that such a darling outfit can only fit a small number of dolls. Like Sylvia says, let’s hope the owners of the other 83 dolls are looking for a cute outfit for their Nyssa’s!
The mail is so slow! I’m still waiting for that slip, and Emmy is wondering where it is!!☺️
I’m sure your slip will eventually show up. So close, yet so far. I have something coming from Texas. Looked like it heading to CA, left Houston, and after my last bout with that P.O., thought great should arrive on time. Nope. Next scan said that the package was in Garden City, New Jersey. That’s a long way from CA. Now it has left GC, NJ and there has not been another scan. Just says package arriving late. I guess so. What does your tracking say? Curious. 🙂
Joy, Jeanne sent the slip, so I have no tracking. Usually, I get whatever she sends the day after she sends it! We are only 2 hours away from each other, so it sure seems strange, since she sent it Tuesday.!
A little package I sent to grand, an 1 1/2 away never arrived. Two months later, a note in daughter’s mailbox said to go to the P.O. to pick it up. She tried both post offices and now they can’t find it. I had hoped that at least they might return it here, but nope. Missing. 🙁
Dear Jeanne, the outfit is perfect. I love those colors. Nyssa is a wonderful model.
You have done it again, Jeanne. This would be one of my favorite of your outfits up there with Monkey Business. Someone made a very pertinent comment about your bidding audience if there are only 84 of these dolls. If the outfit might work on another doll you have so you could show that, too, in your listing, that might help? Really and truly, this set just SINGS!
Linda, I am sure you will get your slip soon, and congratulations, by the way! As long as that man is at the top of the USPS, the system is going to continue to deteriorate.
Very unusual day here…it’s cloudy! Reminds me of living back in NH.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Oh, did anyone get Avril? I was not the least tempted, but then, with over 40 of these dolls and 6 more in the pipeline, I’m near shutdown. Many AGs got relegated to the cellar to make room. Wish the much better outfits they make for the limited dolls were available for sale separately. The ones they offer are all right, but doggone it, the best ones are on the limited edition dolls. Alex, the new boy that premiered today, is the same face mold as the Francis doll for Ed’s Anniversary set but with a blond Luca wig.Very cute, but core, so no need to preorder unless you are so eager you just can’t stand it! 🤣 Ed gives free shipping on him, by the way. Ruby Red Toys is charging shipping. Hiss!
I have written to my favorite seamstress ladies in Russia to let them know that I am thinking of them and all people on both sides. These poor women are totally heartsick and worried and so appreciated getting the notes. If any of you have connections, if you have not reached out, they will be grateful to hear from you. The suffering inflicted on the masses who only just want to live their lives in peace is staggering.
We love you, Alina, and hope all of your loved ones are safe and remain so.
What a wonderful outfit!!! I’m a very matchy-matchy person myself. Gorgeous undies and I love the shoes, purse and headband. I really wish I had a Nyssa. I always thought she was cute and she looks fantastic in anything you make her. How do you put the felt flowers on things? Sew, glue, etc.?
I agree with Sally on supporting the people who have become collateral damage in something that should never have happened. I can’t help feeling like my friends are hurting because I buy a lot of doll things from the wonderful people in Russia and my two Paola Reina dolls are from Ukraine. The two adorable snowsuits I had on my 8″ dolls building the snowman in my winter scene came from Russia. I’m not sure how purchasing from these people is going to be affected because of so many things going on with the banking there but if I can I intend to keep buying from them. I just bought a knitted dress and two sweaters from Kseniya in Russia. Her things are amazing and the prices are great. But I bought it before the trouble started. I’m about to put a comment on Etsy as soon as I download the pictures I took of my LD Greer Adele in her dress and cardigan sweater and her cable knit pullover (that actually buttons in the back) and the plaid pleated skirt I made to go with it.
Praying for everyone over there. It’s hard to imagine living a normal life one day and the next something totally different. I’m getting things from the Red Cross and Samaritan’s Purse on how to help. God bless Poland and its people for taking in the refugees and allowing aid for Ukraine to come through their country.
Everything about Nyssa’s ensemble the Jeanne Marie creative stamp on it. I do agree with finding out if it would fit another doll.
Please be careful when contacting anyone in Russia not to mention anything political. Just receiving email from America could get one in trouble as they have scanning techniques that identify words and combinations of words and have passed draconian laws regarding dissent.
Even more today than a few weeks ago, Susette, you are so right to not say anything political. Russia is back to Iron Curtain days and nothing is “safe”. Just hearing words of love, appreciation and wishing safety makes a difference, though, and there is nothing political about that.
First, I wanted to thank you, Barbara, for your kind comments on my silk embroidery yesterday. Believe me, i know what it’s like to be busy. That’s why I am always reading Jeanne’s blog during lunch.
Oh my, I also saw my crazy typo on my hugging monkeys names. That should have been BOBBY and Cindy, but I guess most would have figured that out. Truth be told, i’m not a monkey person either, but I did love my hugging monkeys. The animal I collected little miniatures etc of as a child was bunnies.
Nyssa’s outfit is very lovely and colorful. I really like the fabric and all the “extras”. Yes,like others have voiced, I wonder if it would fit your RRFF Stella because obviously only 83 others have Nyssa.
Didn’t see Avrill until she was gone, Sally, but definitely not one for me. I’m not fond at all of the colored hair dolls AG has put out lately.
Super scary last evening and praying Alina and all your family is safe and that peace will come soon.
Didn’t see the outfit listed yet. Maybe later. I’m rather late commenting today. Just too many things going on that required attention.
I didn’t get in on Avril today, but did purchase Alex from Happily.com because Ed isn’t charging shipping like RRToys. So, Alex will be here shortly. Luca, Francis, and Rory need another boy in the family. We seem to have a lot of girls around here. And I always liked surfer boys. 🙂 He’s pretty cute.
Anyone still have a childhood doll house besides Linda? I’ve been looking at some that are so fun. And the furniture brings back many memories. 🙂 I had no idea that there were so many different models. I’d love to find a ranch house or cottage.
