Oh man, I’m a little upset. I spent a LONG time writing the post for today and somehow, someway it disappeared… I can’t find it anywhere…not a saved revision, not a copy, not even the title is showing up anywhere… ARRRGGGG! that’s my mad word! I answered all your comments and now it’s after midnight and I’ve got to start all over. Well, needless to say, I’ll just have to do the post I had planned…
I’m SO SO disappointed.
Someone came in the mail today…
It was Freida…she’s a 14.5″ Ruby Red Fashion Friends doll… just like Stella, Rozen and Sara…
Only she has pretty brown eyes and dark brown hair…
Her hair is pulled to the side in a thick braid and if undone, must come down to her ankles…
She has darker skin and is supposed to be Native American. I think she’ll make a great model for my doll clothes…
She came in a Girl Power Tee, a white vinyl-like zip jacket, a purple tulle skirt, striped tights and look at those boots… Silver Boots!
Yep, I think we’ll get along just fine…
She isn’t a limited edition, so you can get her whenever you like… Here’s one place that’s great for buying her…open up the link and click on the Ruby Red Fashion Dolls… you’ll see her…
My sisters are here now so I’ll be “playing” with them instead of Freida, and I may even take Monday off… I’ll see you when I see you!
Have a wonderful first day of 2022!
Blessings, Jeanne
Happy 2022! Now there is a man that knows what makes his little woman happy! She is beautiful and you will certainly have fun with her also have a fun time with your sisters. A great way to start a new year!
I just had a weird thing happen. I always get your blog twice, once from your gmail address and once from WordPress. Tonight I clicked on the one from WordPress and it wouldn’t let me sign in! Didn’t recognize me email address (even though it came to that address). However, I had no trouble at all with the one sent from gmail, so I guess I’ll try to remember to always use that one! Even odder–the first time I clicked the WordPress heading, your post came up with responses to everyone’s comments, but now I can’t seem to get it back!! I wish I’d left it up, I could have copied those comments and sent them to you! Well, one of the cable stations IS running a 3-day marathon of “The Twilight Zone”! Maybe that’s where that first post went!! šš¤£š (and to reply to your comments: Aha! I thought I recognized that face! Those bears did have a distinctive look.)
Well, congratulations on the addition of Freida to your “stable”. She really is gorgeous, and I need to stop dragging my feet and just order her. After all, my birthday is less than a month away!!
I meant to say, Ingrid, I made a reply to your post. That house you are considering is Gorgeous, and I did read that it’s situated on “0.4 acres”, which is almost half an acre, so maybe the pictures just aren’t showing you the yard!!
Happy New Year Jeanne, and everyone! It certainly is looking like you are starting off the year on a happy note with the addition of Freida! However, losing your post from yesterday is not the way to go, but hey, it’s a new year and we can start over! Yes, that is so depressing to lose your comments, but has happened to all of us!
Have fun with your sisters and you can start dreaming of what to make next, maybe something for Freida? Nothing like a new doll to start the year right!
Oh, I wanted to say to Ingrid, I checked out that beautiful house you were interested in, and that is a fantastic place, especially for the price!! You could have a room dedicated to dolls or sewing or whatever your heart desires! Just make sure the heating and cooling system is in good working order! I love all the woodwork details in that house too. You will have to let us know what you think of it when you actually see it, and about what kind of yard it has.
Congratulations on the arrival of Freida…she is so beautiful and know she will quickly become one of your favorite models! I’m going to get her too..thankfully she’s a core doll and not a LE so I can recover from Christmas!
I just received Meadowdoll LL Masha, Miroslava’s biggest girl. She is still in her box..I want to have to to savor removing every plastic wrap and playing wig salon , although I have a feeling braids are going to be her best look:)
Happy New Year to all and here’s to creativity, however it may come to you, for 2022…goodness knows we are due more fun than we thought was possible after these last 2 years!
Hi Shara, Congrats on your Masha. She’s such a pretty girl. I love playing with doll wigs too! Braids will be adorbs on her. We need a pic when shes ready to show.
Happy New Year Jeanne! She is beautiful! Congrats!
Well, I received both versions of the blog this morning. I don’t think I could comment on the first one, but I’ll have to look again. š
I had to go back and take a look at the home that Ingrid is considering in Lockport. What a fabulous place. That original banister is so beautiful, and it looks like there is a widow’s walk enclosed at the very top. How fun. When I looked at the street view, the neighboring house has a fence in the front making for a lovely yard for gardening. Just add a fence and there you go. š I think it is also close to the canal so a quick walk, and boat watching could be fun too. Hope you get this one. Looks like lots of room. š So sorry to hear that Ingrid still hasn’t had her taste/smell return. Maybe those studying the effects will come up with a fix someday. Hope so.
I emailed Jeanne and told her that I had received my Freida yesterday. She responded that she had too. š I think there will be a lot of sister/cousin girls out there. I love the one here. She mentioned awhile back that she was going to post a pic I’d sent, but I haven’t seen it. It may be lost in the holiday shuffle.
Way too many fireworks going off last night. Fortunately, we’ve had rain so the fire danger is much lower. Maybe we’ll hear more from Marilyn that she was able to return home.
Hope everyone has a healthful new year.
Happy new year!
Jeanne, Freida is a perfect gift. Congratulations to you and George for being so fortunate and smart! š„° Jave a blast with your family. BTW, I didnāt see Reuben in any of the Thanksmas pictures. How is the little laddie?
Itās snowing here!! Not a huge accumulation, but a fantastic way to start the new year here in dry Colorado. Marilyn, how are things in your area? Thank you for the map. Sure hope the President and Governor get the ball rolling at jet speed.
Ingridā¦a very interesting house! As for the yard, it looks like it is mainly concrete for driveway to the side and almost the entire backyard. Some of that concrete could disappear for a backyard garden, or maybe put a layer of textured concrete over some of the back for a large patio look and do some raised beds and big pots, a nice big umbrella on an armā¦that is a lot of house for the priceā¦but as someone else said, get a good look at the plumbing and wiring and utility bills. Best of luck to you!
Today we were supposed to go to the opera in the Springsā¦due to snow, no thanks. So our friends are coming over for the tailgate picnic I was to make. LOVE looking out at this snow.
Joy, congrats on your Freida that you managed to smuggle inside with extreme good luck. Alice is in the mail and it looks like Elena is leaving Russia. Your Alexandra will probably show up out of the blue. Have faith.
May 2022 be a big improvement.
Sure, Jeanne, be sure to ājaveā a blast. My goodness, that darn ājā just wanted to appear instead of the āhā. Have a blast, Jeanne! š„°š„®šš
Happy New Year!! I kind of guessed that you would probably add Freida since you don’t have a dark haired RRFF and I was right. Now you’ll have four of them to sew for, wow! They alone could keep you busy sewing.
Have a great time with your sisters as you always do.
Hi Jeanne, oh, forgot to say I did receive to copied of the blog this morning with different titles. You commented on the one post, but comments weren’t possible at the bottom. Then I received this one. They both came to my inbox a couple of hours apart. Usually, one comes to me inbox and an identical copy comes to my ‘promotions” folder.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who couldn’t comment on the WordPress version! I thought I was going crazy!
Happy New Year!
It is snowing and blowing and 2 degreesš„“ I suppose there is no reason to not take the decorations down now.
I too received Freida for Christmas/ BD and she is on her way already!
She and Bella will be BFFās. Charlotte ā¦ donāt wait.. she might get scarceš„“
Have fun with your REAL sisters Jeanneš¤
Congrats of Freida. The one here is very cute and wants some new outfits. š
I didnāt comment yesterday, so here goes. Wonderful day for Bitharās family and yours. What fun to fishing was. Dinner too.
I have a friend from high school whom I āfoundā again in 2002 after 37 years thanks to the Internet. Turns out she had ten children, four sets of twins and two singletons!, all raised on a rural postmanās salary in Northern Michigan! Iām not talking about her out of school because one of her sons wrote a wonderful book about their lives and adventures called āSpaghetti on Mondaysā by Tom Flaminio. Itās still available on Amazon if youād like a good read, but it starts out with the doctor who delivered the last set of twins announcing it with tears in his eyes. Nine have four-year degrees and one has a Masters in Public Health Nursing.
Loved all the manger scenes, especially the living crĆØche. Thatās my favorite. Thatās my era with the black-and-white photos and style of childrenās clothing.
Iād make sure there was a way to provide a bedroom or two on the ground floor or room to install a large enough elevator to reach the second floor, especially since youāve mentioned meeting people for appointments. Privacy might become an issue, although Iām sure youāve taken this into account. Also as Joy suggested, Iād make sure everything was done up to code as Iām sure New York would have them as demanding as California does regarding licensing and insurance. Maybe an independent inspector as opposed by one suggested by the realtor. Just since you asked us . . .
Happy New Year to everyone!
OMG! four sets of twins and two more! yikes. Confession time… when I saw Jeannes company all I could think of was that’s a lot of sticky fingers… I know I have issues lol
I’ll add a bit; I found my copy of the blog that had all Jeanne’s comments on it (couldn’t find it last night, but tonight I could!), and have forwarded it on to Jeanne, in case she wants to copy and paste the comments for those who didn’t get it.
After a week of very cold and snowy weather (it got down to 16 last night, which is extremely unusual for the Seattle area), it has started to warm up a bit (34) and they are forecasting rain and 43 for tomorrow. At that rate, the rest of the snow won’t last long.
We’ll be having our worship service in the basement tomorrow morning, because the furnace for the upstairs died again. Well, it IS 50 years old; we are just trying to keep it going as long as possible, as we are a very small congregation, and it would be a huge chunk to replace it. Pastor closed the doors to the sanctuary (it was 48 in there this afternoon when I went to practice!), and has a rotating space heater between the ladies’ room and the handicapped bathroom (as it turns out, My space heater, from my classroom–I’m glad it was there!) and a radiant heater in the men’s bathroom, to help keep the pipes from freezing!
I took my music downstairs and practiced on that piano today. The downstairs is nice and warm!
Oh my but you get around girlfriend! Sorry about the heating at the church. Broken pipes would really be awful. I pray it warms up soon. In the meantime stay warm and safe! Hugs, Ingrid
Freida is a beautiful doll. Puppet fever is catching up with everyone. Greetings to all sisters.
Good Morning everyone.
Jeanne,
George knows you well and is an excellent gift giver! Congrats on Freida. She is such a pretty girl. When Sally introduced her to us she tugged at my heartstrings. She’ll be here soon (fingers crossed anyway) Enjoy your family visit. Hope to see you Tuesday : )
Charlotte, I think I jinxed myself when I said I was Jealous of your snow. Shawn my yard guy has been here to clear the driveway and I’m pretty sure he’ll be back later today. Yikes… I do like the white stuff but truth be told it can all disappear now that Christmas is over. COME ON SPRING! LOL. I saw your Wee Care gowns you made, they are lovely and oh so precious! Thank you for your kindness. I think it’s a wonderful thing to do for parents that have suffered the loss of a newborn. You are so thoughtful and kind!
Hope you and Ron are well, staying warm and enjoying the snow from indoors.
Hubby and I met with our realtor Saturday morning. I must say seeing the house in person was a pleasant surprise. The pictures don’t do the house justice. It’s in wonderful condition for 140 years. I’m not a fussy person, Victorian homes are lovely but I’m a Colonial style girl through and through… My mom loves Victorian and I want her to be happy. The house has been carefully updated so that it still has all it’s old world charm. The kitchen is brand new (solid cherry cupboards) and I think larger than the photo shows. The house was most recently used as a hearing and balance center. It has a covered handicap entrance (ramp) in the rear of the house. Also three rooms on the first floor that could be used as bedrooms. Sadly the entire back yard is paved. There is a question about the property taxes. Seems the property once had another house which was removed and then paved over. The two properties combined are nearly half an acre. Hubby really likes it. I like the kitchen lol. Next step parent approval.
Oh my! I just read the comments and there are a lot of Freida’s joining their moms on the sofa. So excited yeah!
Linda, I love the dedicated room for dolls and sewing idea. I have one now but it doubles as a guest room, certainly not ideal. Thanks for you kind comment.
Joy, I hope sneaking Freida inside was eventless. My hubby just smiles and shakes his head. I like it that way… I’m to old for secret missions. I don’t move that fast anymore! lol The thing on top of the roof is indeed enclosed and maybe once there may have been a widows walk out around it, I can’t really tell. The enclosed thing (turret? Cupola? who knows?) is a very large room, looking out the windows you can see above many of the houses. Kind of neat.. the stair going up to it is hidden in a closet and is very steep. The tread is super narrow. I’ll call it widow/widower making stairs LOL I like your fencing off idea for a garden area. I thought about that too when we were looking around the property. Thanks for your thoughts!
Susette, I think no state is more strict than California when it comes to building codes. The plumbing looks new, furnace looks good, AC is newer and there is a new water tank which hubby wants to replace with an On demand system. Yes I agree an inspector will be brought in once my parents give us the thumbs up. Thanks for your fed back!
Sally, excellent suggestions, thank you! A tailgate picnic sounds fun, hope you enjoyed your visit with friends.
Hope everyone had a wonderful time ringing in the New Year.
I’ll sign off with this thought.
A New Year is like a blank book, it has 12 chapters and 365 pages, and you are the Author.
My wish for you is that this year, you write the most beautiful story possible for yourself.
Happy New Year my friends on the sofa!
Hugs
Ingrid
The house sounds fabulous. I hope everything works out.
As many of you know from news reports, 991 structures were burned by the fire and now 8 to 10″ of snow has covered much of the area, which has helped with fire control. I was near but outside of the evacuation area. I slept on the couch near the front window with curtains open and lights on, hoping that if someone came to tell us to evacuate, they’d have the sense to knock on the window and scare me awake. Fortunately for me, the fire moved pretty much west to east and avoided us. The air looks clear and the smell of smoke is very light.
Frieda is lovely — you needed a dark haired RRFF — some things look better on a dark-haired girl.
Speaking of dark-haired dolls, BingandNelsonfan has a post on AGPT showing the new GOTY, Corinne in various wigs for people who like to customize. Her eyes are a larger size than the other AGs, so eye swaps are out for now.
