Well, Charlotte, my hubby picked your name for Addy’s dress from the ones suggested… actually you had Gold Elegance but when I read them to him as he was looking at Addy in her dress, he said he liked Gold-en Elegance the best. It actually sounded better when it was said out loud… sort of flowed off the tongue better. So Golden Elegance was his favorite.
AND I got it listed on Ebay! Yep, it just went live a few minutes ago… You can see it HERE… or click on the picture at the right side bar and you’ll be taken to the listing!
I can’t believe I got it listed. I just used the pictures I had but I think it is enough.
My day was busy again… I had a meeting this morning at church, then I set out to find a mattress topper and a mattress pad for our new “guest” bed… Found them…
I had to give my hubby a haircut and then we even managed to get quite a few of the necessary boards cut and right before dinner I primed them. Tomorrow I’ll sand them and give them another coat and then on to the top coat… The curtain rings/clips I’m planning to use for my curtains are supposed to come tomorrow. I hope they do.
I was looking on the My Meadow Doll forum last night and I stumbled across this picture. It’s one of Miroslava’s dolls, 11″ Patty, (like my Bailey) and she had the most adorable little doll in her lap. I found out the doll was a 5″ AmyDoll. I had never heard of them before, but just in case you wanted to see her, here is that picture…
And here is the site I found MORE on…I think they are adorable. Does anyone have one?
Well, I better get to bed… I’ve got painting to do tomorrow. ONE OF THESE DAYS I’m going to paint the last piece of trim in this house and I’m going to celebrate. OOOh… I just remembered, we were supposed to have CAKE when I finished my kitchen. Remember that virtual cake we were all going to share. I better think about that too… :o)
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
How exciting!! Addy’s outfit is posted, and a variation of my suggestion is the name! Actually I prefer Golden Elegance–I agree, it Does sound better–but when I suggested the other, it was late; what can I say?!
Best of all, Golden Elegance already has one bid!! Woohoo!!!
Gosh, yes, you Did have a busy day! But, the end of your painting is finally in sight, I think. A little bit away, but no longer that far distant goal–much more reachable now! A celebration is in order, for sure!
I vote for chocolate cake!! 😋
Dear Charlotte, I vote for cake too! Make mine white cake with white icing.
Now we are up to two cakes. I think we will need at least a dozen to feed all of the Sofa Sisters. I hope Jeanne has a big oven (laugh).
You certainly set the bar high! A lovely listing, meetings, painting, shopping, haircut, dolly links. Oh my, just wait til you get busy with the holidays, LOL
Whatever happened to the Christmas berries dress? I heard through the dolly grapevine that Sara was devastated that her dress buyer had a change of heart, she’s worried it’s a blotch on her modeling career!
The Amy doll link was fun too. Did anyone look at the little dollhouses and furniture?
Golden Elegance is the perfect name for Addy’s outfit, Jeanne! So happy to see it listed and already a bid! Like Dorothy L., I too wonder what happened to the Christmas Berries dress? You mentioned putting back on EBay, but that never happened as far as I could tell.
Those 5 inch Amy dolls are adorable! Can’t believe the price, though, for a doll that small!
Yes, one of these days, your painting “career” will be over, then what? Hopefully, more sewing! That cake will come in handy for the holidays!
Linda it looks like the prices are not in dollars. I assumed Francs because the contact was in France. So when I converted 329.00 francs to dollars it came to $58.10. I may be wrong on this but I do know the prices were not in American dollars.
Actually, the cost is in euros. 329 € equals about $381.
Good morning dear Jeanne and sofa sisters!
Jeanne, all my best hopes and wishes for this auction. What a knockout this outfit is. Wonderful name, too. Congrats and thanks to Charlotte and George!
Well, those Amy dolls are sure cute. When I saw Tommy with his tongue sticking out, I said to myself, that would be my choice especially having raised three sons. Thanks for the link, but I am sticking to RRs, but I will have to “unstick” myself pretty soon.
Did someone, like Jeanne and Charlotte, say “CAKE”?? Oh-ho! I don’t care about the flavor. I love ANY cake especially with lots of gooey frosting. Bring it on!
As for Sarah’s berry dress, it is coming here to join the plaid dress, so 2 of the three are staying together. I am very grateful to Jeanne for making this possible and will send a pic when I have the two girls dressed. Not all my RRs will be dressed for the holidays. I refuse to get drawn into another huge doll collection wardrobe. Just enough so that those that aren’t designated by me to stay in their original outfits to have a change every now and then. Honestly, changing doll clothes has become not only challenging but rather bewildering to again acknowledge my limitations due to agong. And as I said above, I am really on the edge of my limit for display space for these beautiful dolls. I am so grateful to have these dolls as I not only love their faces, I love their size. They have brought a ton of joy to this old bird. Thanks, Jeanne, for the introduction!
Happy sewing to all who might be sewing today. Happy priming, Jeanne. Maybe you can get two coats on today and just have top coat?
BTW, how’s dear Reuben? Our dogs say woof to him and send wags. (We have two females. That might give him a wag to know?)
For Pete’s sakes, that should read “limitations due to aging”. Not agong. Maybe I’m related to Shakespeare and created a new word. Didn’t he add something like over 800 words to our language?
Have a good one, girls.
Sally
Glad the dress is listed. Addy looks so sweet.
Hope you get those baseboards done. Will you be able to get to George’s office floor any time soon?
I have one OB11. They are so small. I had trouble getting the head to stay closed so gave up and left her in the box. I bought mine from a dealer in Spain. Guess I should locate the box and fix the problem. Mine wasn’t all that expensive. There are lots of dolls that size around. 🙂
I see there is a bid on Addy’s dress. 🙂
A bid already! That is always such a good feeling…congrats! The pretty name does fit it. Who gets the next Christmas dress?Nice you didn’t have to resist the berry dress….lucky Sally to have two. We need a picture please🤗
Trim work is never fun but always looks so nice when all finished. My woodwork needs a new coat…little nicks and scratches here and there🥴
Company coming next week and 5 family birthdays coming up too, plus Thanksgiving. It always seems to happen so fast☺️
My goodness, those Amy Dolls are precious. Did you look at all the tiny accessories? They’re so cute. I have a 6″ Berenguer Doll. They’re little baby dolls. My Molly asked for one to “play with.” It’s dressed in a sweet christening outfit.
Glad you got the beautiful dress finished and listed. Someone will have an even happier Thanksgiving. Glad the painting is coming to an end too. And the bed will be all set up. Ready for that beautiful cake soon.
I would have ordered one of those cute little tiny blond dolls but that particular one wasn’t available. It was the one I’d really liked, as if I need another doll of any kind. Cute little toys.
Dear Jeanne, I hope things will slow down for you soon so you can catch your breath.
The little Amy doll is adorable.
Hi Jeanne,
Addy’s dress is lovely. The bow in her hair is so sweet. I love the way you give all your girls such pretty hair styles. Good luck with the auction, a bid already is very promising. The Amy doll is cute, I’m not familiar with her, she certainly is a tiny little thing. My wish for you is that your painting project is coming along as you hoped. So great the guest room is another step closer to being finished. It always feels so good to check things off the to do list doesn’t it?
Hugs to you and all the sisters
Ingrid
I admire your Jeanne dresses. Whatever you start sewing turns to gold literally. It’s nice to see your projects in the process of being created. Very inspiring. Regards
