Bailey’s dress, “Precious in Pink” is on Ebay…

If you didn’t see it yet, Bailey’s dress was listed on Ebay Monday evening. If you want to see it, you can click on the picture at the right side bar or you can click HERE. I’ve already gotten a bid on the set! Yippee!

Now about those buttons on her dress… yep, they were off set to the right just a little bit…

…and I’ll be changing them to the center. I didn’t notice them as I was busy getting her jacket finished… then when I put the jacket on her, the opening just seemed like the middle to me, so I marked it with a straight pin and stitched them on there… I never checked it on the dress all by itself… lesson learned! :o)

Here is some good news… Kathie asked in her comment who was the manufacturer of the pink floral fabric (that I was almost out of)? I went in my sewing room to check and the tiny piece I had left, didn’t have the name along the selvage… but as I was in my sewing room, my eyes roamed over my fabrics and I saw another piece of it… I couldn’t believe it! There it was on the shelf… I got it out and measured it… a little over 2 1/2 yards! Yay for pink fabric!!! Thanks for asking Kathie…otherwise, I would have never known I had more… until I saw it sometime when I wasn’t looking for it…

Someone said they didn’t recall anything being made from it… well let me show you a couple…

This is Wren Pistachio, a 14″ Kish Chrysalis doll by Helen Kish… I LOVED Wren and sometimes regret I sold her. She was my first articulated doll and I thought she was the bomb! :o)

It’s funny… I was looking for my pictures of Wren in this fabric and guess what I found it under… “Wren in favorite pink fabric with puppy dog”

I also made a dress for my Katie Effanbee, 17″ doll quite a few years ago… Anyone still have a Katie doll? I had 2…Scottie Girl and Mommy’s Garden Party…

This pink dress was on Scottie Girl Katie…

I’m sure I’ve made more… I’ll have to search…

Well, it’s time for me to head to bed… it’s PAST time…
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Well, your blog just appeared. Must have been a glitch. Looks like you will have plenty of fabric to make something for one of the big girls. Maybe this spring. Would be lovely for Easter made with a white collar similar to Wren’s outfit, but much shorter of course.
My new Kaye Wiggs girl Abby has arrived. I think she is about 17″. Haven’t had a moment to put in her eyes yet which are brown. I was looking around trying to find something for her to wear temporarily and grabbed a dress made for 14″ Ruby Red Fashion Friends. It fits perfectly, but short of course. Abby is pretty skinny. 🙂
We made it down to Marin for our Covid vaccinations yesterday in record time. You never know with the horrible traffic. Since we were so early, we went ahead and went in and found that there was no line. We told them we were way early, but no matter, they looked up our cards, we read the list of things to answer no to, walked across the room and were given our shots. I actually only felt a very slight pinch, although other person said he felt it. The syringes were not those huge things we have been seeing in the news. Just the regular size. Then we went back outside to an employee with a laptop who signed us up for our second shot in a month. Found a couple of chairs in the sun and sat out our 15 minute wait time. Then back in the car and headed home. Was kind of nice to take a drive out of town. 🙂 Just a slightly sore upper arm today. Was definitely worth waiting on the phone for 2 1/2 hours to get the appointments. Hope everyone else is getting in line too.

    1. Hi Joy,
Apparently I didn’t hit the publish button correctly. I didn’t notice it until this morning..
Maybe some of my patterns for Nyssa will work for Sara… congratulations on getting 8TH
      Abby!!
I’m glad you got your shots… now it’s back to paying with dolls!!!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. So here you are, Jeanne! I knew something was amiss when your blog didn’t show up at 1:00, not that I was up then, but it was more like 3 when it should have been there.

So now you have several bids already! I’m not surprised at all! This is one of the cutest outfits you have made, and yes, the fabric is lovely! I do remember the other two dresses, but I like this one the best!

That picture of Bailey sitting there with the fabric is so cute, and I bet she is thinking you are going to make her another dress just like the one that is for sale! It does look like you would have enough!☺️

Nice to hear that you were able to get your vaccine, in record time Joy! You are one of the lucky ones!

    1. Hi Linda,
Something went wonky…I know I had it scheduled….but at least I discovered it before it was noon…
I think I might like this one best too…Bailey is so much fun to make things for…what a sweet little girl she is…
I do have enough fabric for several more dresses now…I’m glad…
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. So glad you found more of the pink print material. Yay!! Hopefully for a bigger doll?
Bailey looks so cute and happy sitting there as she models her outfit. Glad you already have a bid!
Joy, glad you got the start of your vaccine. Hope you can show your new doll, Abby, sometime soon?

    1. Thank you Paula,
I’m glad I found more of the fabric too… who knows who’ll get the next dress made from it.

It’s always a boost to me to get a bid early on instead of waiting till the end… it just lets me know someone out there besides me likes it! :o)

Yes, I forgot to tell Joy a picture of Abby would be very nice… for all of us to drool over!
      Thanks Paula,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. I never got an email so I went looking and here it is!

That fabric really is special. Have you made any AG dresses from it? Adding the dark pink on Katie’s dress really changed the look. You could pick out all kinds of colors for trim. Green? Periwinkle?

My husband registered for a COVID vaccination. He’s over 65 and works with the public every day. It’s a lottery so he may or may not receive it. The names drawn will get a call tomorrow. And if he doesn’t, he’s in the pool for next time.

    1. HI Julia,
Yes, something happened… because I know it was scheduled… I double checked, but for some reason it didn’t go on… oh well, glad you found it anyway!

I think that’s one reason why I like it so much…it’s interchangeable with SO many prints… I just love it! Oh wait… I already said that, didn’t I?

I hope your hubby doesn’t have to wait for his shot… if you have to get it, get it over with sooner than later…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Thanks, Kathie, for the tip about Concord fabrics. I have just received one of the prints but it’s too pale, so I ordered a matching print from their site that’s brighter. I’ll make a dress with a three-layered ruffles skirt. I’ll have to make it up from scratch as patterns are scarce for RRFF and Little Darling dolls.

Bailey is darling as is her ensemble. Can’t believe your bear collection. Is it hard to part with them? I love the Wren doll and would buy one if I could find one. She’s so pretty and somewhat mysterious looking to me.

    1. Have you tried Etsy for LD patterns. Also Pixie Faire has a lot of patterns for the Fashion Friends. Some of the designers have redrafted some of their patterns to fit them.

    2. HI Susette,
Yes, the patterns for RRFF ARE pretty scarce… there is one seller who has quite a few on ebay… but I’d like something a little bit out of the ordinary…

I’ll never forget the day I got Wren… my brother was down visiting when she came in the mail… I took her over to my mom’s house to show everyone… Bob took her and started bending her legs all different ways and I wanted to grab her back from him and say, “hey that’s my doll you’re messing with…” but I didn’t… She was the prettiest Chrysalis doll I think…
      Thanks Susette,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Hi Jeanne,
Oh my but the dumpling outfit is absolutely adorable, I love your sweet little signature wool felt jackets, they are always so pretty and each one is unique. Bailey will certainly be sad to take it off. So neat you found more of that pretty fabric in your stash, that must make you very happy.

Joy I’m so happy to hear you and “other person” didn’t have any issues getting your vaccinations. I read that Johnson & Johnson is working on a one shot vaccine, Good news for people that bruise like a peach, hate needles or aren’t able to get out very easily. I missed commenting on the photos of your grands at your house in the mountains… They were so sweet, you have the cutest grandkids and yes I saw the snow cat… to cute! Glad to hear rain is on the way for you, hopefully it wont be so much that it causes problems.
We have a winter storm warning going on here, nothing we Western New Yorkers can’t handle 👍

Barbara, Congratulations on another grandbaby, I was glad to read your sweet family is home and all is well. Continued prayers for your hubby.

    Hugs
    Ingrid

    1. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Ingrid, I am so glad to see a comment from you. I hope that you are doing alright. My prayers continue for you.

    2. HI Ingrid,
Thank you for your very kind compliments on Bailey’s dress set. I love it too and just like to pose her in all different positions to see how she looks… but she’s always adorable as ever! :o)

I too, hope you are feeling much better, Ingrid… nothing like being under the weather and still having to carry on with life… I hope your daughter and Dominic are better too…
      Thanks again,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    3. Thanks for the nice comments on the grands. You are too kind.
I bruise easily too, but this was a piece of cake. Really. Can hardly feel it at all today. 🙂
We’re supposed to get a lot of much needed snow in the Sierra tonight and tomorrow. Here near the Pacific coast, lots of rain and wind. The big problem is with the burn scars from all of the horrible fires we have had. Can cause earth movement with all of the rain. Lots have been evacuated south of SF in the Santa Cruz mountains.
Hope you and family are feeling better.

  7. Just popping in for a second as I have groceries to finish cleaning and putting away.
Bailey looks adorable in her sweet dress set and you have two bidders vying for it already.
Wren was a pretty doll. She reminds my ever so slightly of my Kathe Kruse “Heidi”.
Yeah on finding more of the fabric. That would make a lovely dress for an AG. I have to still see if I have that fabric, maybe find time today>

    1. HI Laura,
Yes, 2 bidders to make my heart beat a little faster… I love it when someone loves my dresses enough to start bidding early.
I was thrilled when I realized I had more of this fabric… it really is wonderful and works for dolls of all sizes…
I’ll have to see if I can find anymore dolls wearing dresses in it… I’m sure I have some I have forgotten about…
      Thanks Laura,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. That was very odd. I still haven’t received an e mail found this when I was looking at yesterdays blog! How would I have managed without my morning fix? I see you have 6 bids already, Jeanne. But I have to agree with everyone else, that fabric is gorgeous no wonder you are so happy to have found some more of it. I loved the Wren doll though not so keen on the Katie doll. but the outfits on both were lovely.
It did get up to 37C yesterday, I guess that is around 100+F much hotter than the average in Christchurch. I had all the curtains closed all afternoon and the air con on all night but even so it got a bit uncomfortable when the sun was shining in at 6pm. A small town about 50kms from here but slightly inland got to almost 40. Same again to day but there will be a sou-west change tonight so much cooler. We can go from 30C to 15C in an hour with the wind change!
We had a community case of covid this week up in Northland, the woman had been in isolation for two weeks but didn’t get symptoms until a week after she left isolation. She had two negative tests whilst in isolation. They know she got it from someone on the same floor at the isolation hotel (from genome sequencing) who came in from S Africa and had tested positive after she got here but they have no idea how she got it. They are thinking it might be from the ventilation shafts. So far she doesn’t seem to have passed it on to anyone else and so no lockdown yet. Everyone is holding their breath metaphorically speaking. The vaccine isn’t available to us yet, apparently but hopefully very soon. In the meantime we just have to be vigilant and keep scanning the QR codes.
I have to get back to my work room and sorting today. I really need to get back to sewing though I have achieved quite a lot with my hexagon quilt which was my hand project when I was in UK/USA in 2019 (couldn’t take my sewing machine with me lol). Still a long way to go though.

    1. 37F is 98.6 F too hot. Took the dog for a walk this morning at 8.40 am and it said it was 24F. Not sure I believe that it felt more like 30! I don’t think either me or the dog enjoyed it too much. Have to book him in for a haircut can’t be much fun in a fur coat!

    2. HI Anne,
I did have the post for today scheduled like I always do, but for some reason it never went on.. I’m glad you found it…
As I look back on the Katie dolls, I’m not that impressed either… I wonder where my dresses for her are now? I made quite a few for the dolls…and probably just a few of them would be on my favorite list…
It’s strange to be hearing about hot hot weather right now… we are supposed to get snow tomorrow… we’re freezing and you are sweltering ….
I hope you get some sorting done in your work room. I need to join you in doing some more sorting… Rebecca bought me some compartment containers and I want to get things really organized this year…so I can know exactly what I have and where it is…
      Blessings, Jeanne

    3. Very interesting about how the virus was transmitted. I understand the S. African variety is much more easily acquired. So hope no one else gets it. The poor woman. 🙂

  9. I’m happy to see the blog this morning — it is still morning here — and snowing. I’m also happy to see that other people like Bailey’s outfit as well as I do and the you found more of the pink material. Maybe you can celebrate Sara with a tiered pink dress.

I’m now on a list to be vaccinated at home, which is a neat idea for people who might find trying to walk on snow and ice fatal. A friend said Walgreen’s sent a team to her retirement home. They went from door to door vaccinating everyone. I join Joy in hoping that all of us are in line as soon as possible.

    1. HI Marilyn,
It looks like we will be joining you for some snow tomorrow… it’s a 70% chance early in the day…
I’m glad you sent me that email about my blog being missing… I woke up on the middle of the night and lots of times I double check to see if it did go on for sure, but last night I didn’t and I guess it was one night I should have…
Yep, I like the idea of someone coming to YOU instead of you trying to get out and doing a little slipping and sliding… not good! :o)
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, the material is so pretty. It is so interesting to see how each dress looks different even though you are using the same material.

    1. Thanks Dorothy,
I have used this same line of fabric in the yellow and blue version.. both of them were beautiful too… I might have to show a few of those dresses…
      I’m glad you liked it…
      Blessings, Jeanne

      1. Charlotte Trayer

I Thought I remembered it in other colorways!! That’s why it looked so familiar, although I do remember seeing pictures of the other two pink dresses before. As Dorothy said, it’s interesting to see how different it looks done up in different ways and with different contrasting fabrics!

  11. Lucky you, Jeanne!!! You found some more of that beautiful fabric. Somehow I missed something. Do you now have a FF Sara? If so, a dress for Sara out of that fabric to celebrate her homecoming would be nice. I have a Sara too….

THE SIBLIES ARE HERE!!! And I’m in real trouble. If you got an e-mail from Happily Ever After you will know what I mean. They are 12″ tall and are the siblings of the Fashion Friends. They are too cute.

I see where California, Illinois, New York and Michigan (to some extent) are reopening. Guess those who live in those states will soon be able to dine in at your favorite restaurants again.

    1. Hi Barbara,
Yes, I’ve got a FF Sara, but she’s still in her box… I was waiting until I got my kitchen cabinets painted on the one side before I opened her… but I’m really wanting to open her box… I may go ahead and do it sooner than I had planned…we’ll have to see.

I wasn’t going to get her but there was enough of a market for her clothes that I decided to go ahead and get her while I could.. I used some of my face mask money… :o)

I got my Sara from Happily Ever After… I haven’t seen the Siblies… just some Orient dolls… are they the ones you mean? I might have to look up Siblies and see what they look like…

Yes, some of our restaurants have opened up… but some have closed forever… Our governor kept such a tight hold on them, some just couldn’t survive, others have spent so much money on the PPE and paper menu’s and plexiglass and outdoor tents, they are hoping they don’t get shut down again… it’s pretty sad…
Thanks Barbara… and I hope that new grandson is bringing lots of joy to your family!
      Blessings, Jeanne

    2. I’ve seen the Siblies. A little bit different than my usual style with the colored hair they have, but very cute. The one I liked the best has hair cut off short in the back and pig tails. Kind of strange. But, I might change my mind. 🙂
