One more American Girl doll to model the blue dress…

Thursday is Kristoffer’s birthday so my day was a bit busy with getting things ready for him…

The day started out a bit on the chilly side but it warmed up in the afternoon and I decided to try the dress on one more doll and see if I could get the colors to show up any better in some outside pictures. I looked over my dolls and decided to show the set on Rebecca. She has the prettiest features to me… she’s one of the prettiest AG dolls in my opinion…I LOVE her in this blue…

We got all dressed up and I tried to style her hair just a little bit, even though it was going to be covered by a bonnet…

Isn’t Rebecca pretty in this? She’s done quite a bit of Civil War modeling for me and I think this would definitely work.

We went back inside and took a few more…

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Rebecca does look lovely in the outfit, too! And, yes, she really does have pretty features.

And…you are getting another Julie! Must be doll-buying week here with the sofa sisters! I have ordered the new Leona (from leeann.ca) with the ballet en pointe feet, and two ballet outfits for her! They are due to be shipped Nov. 15. Early Christmas to me from me!! LOL It was hard to choose–the ballet doll is available as Leeann (choice of hair colors), Leneda (choice of skin tones) and Leona, and the outfits were available in different colors. (I got the recital outfit in red and the practice outfit in pink.)

    1. I’m not familiar with this site and couldn’t find it when I looked. I wanted to see what you bought. How do I access the site?

  2. Yes, Rebecca looks lovely in that outfit, Jeanne! I think a lot of dolls would look good in it too, but I do think of it as a Kirsten dress!

Your yard looks like ours, with leaves everywhere! Today might be a good day to get out there and do some yard work, but then again, all our efforts will be for nothing in a few days!

Happy Birthday to Kristoffer! You certainly had your hands full of birthday parties when he and Rebecca were small!

  3. Rebecca looks beautiful in this outfit, but I must agree with Linda..this is a totally Kirsten look and she wears it best:) Such a lovely blue plaid..very Transitional!
I do love the fabric you found for the shawl…it’s perfect neutral. My great grandparents came to the US from Sweden, and I’ve seen old photos that show grandmother Ericsson wearing a shawl very similar to Kirsten’s.

Happy Birthday to Kristoffer! Wishing him a wonderful day and lots of fun!

  4. Jeanne, congrats on 2000 blog posts! Here’s to 2000 more! 🥂

This outfit is very nice on Rebecca. I too think it is really gorgeous on Kirsten.

  5. Rebecca is a lovely vision. And fun outdoor photos too.
Looks like there may still be a few tomatoes left on your plants. Ours are pretty much done.
Wren Feathers has a free A-line dress pattern today that will fit the Wellies, and I’m sure others.
I’ve been trying to find some shoes to fit my new Mini Ginny doll. 5 1/2″. Very tiny little feet. She will be perfect for one of the bigger girls to tote around.
Lots of celebrations at your place. Have fun.

  6. Rebecca does look lovely in that outfit. It truly seems it would work on most any doll. If you still had Caroline, I think the aqua would set off her eyes as well. I wonder if Paula has her new Caroline in Civil War are as I do mine?
I do have to agree though that this is a Kirsten dress, some dresses just belong to certain dolls,
Happy Birthday to Kristoffer!! I had forgotten you have two October babies. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

  7. Rebecca is a lovely doll. I think she is one of the prettiest AG dolls, but I do think this dress belongs to Kirsten.

I just finished an outfit for FF Sara. Talk about quick. It was a Sew Dolled Up 81 pattern. It looks like a romper or a jumper dress with a blouse, but it’s all one piece. Too cute. I did the romper for Sara and now Bella wants one too. Stella says she wants the dress. Really fun pattern and so many possible combinations it was hard to settle on even three.

Happy Birthday to Kristoffer. October has been a big birthday month in this family too. A lovely month for a birthday.

  8. Happy birthday to Kristoffer!
Congratulations to Jeanne on another lovely outfit. It looks nice on Rebecca, but everything looks nice on Rebecca. Still, I hope it goes to a Kristen or even to Kit, who stands in for Kristen here.
It’s gray, cold, and damp here, with no wind. I think most of us are quite pleases=d — it’s good fire-fighting weather. We have 4 fires currently polluting our air, so I don’t actually know if the gray skies are due to clouds, smoke, or both. The nearest, smallest fire is 40% contained and the huge one near my sister’s cabin is slowly being contained. There’s one called East Troublesome in nearby Grand county that’s adding its smoke to ours. That’s beautiful country but the drought-encouraged pine bark beetle has killed a lot of trees, and that encourages fires.
Enough on that. I don’t suppose we’ll see Julie until Saturday. I hope she arrives as expected tomorrow.

  9. Rebecca also looks lovely in Kirsten’s outfit. I agree that many AMG dolls would work in this outfit. Your pictures outside are really nice and clear and it looks as if Rebecca is just taking a stroll outside.
Happy birthday to Kristopher. Hope he has a wonderful day celebrating.

  10. Rebecca is lovely in the outfit. She is new to me I am not sure I remember you mentioning her before. Like others have said it still looks great on Kirsten. I love the shawl.
I have heard from EBay ( which was very quick) and they seem to think the seller is genuine. I don’t intend to give him my bank account or credit card details so hope he can put it back through Pay pal.
The only time I lost money like that was when Sam was using my card to buy stuff on line then paying it back. Ashley was 7 at the time and wanted to use the tablet. Sam forgot that she hadn’t locked the card and when Ashley’s game said do you want more credits she, of course, said yes! I went to buy petrol later and my card was declined. Since I knew there was money there I was a bit shocked. When I checked the card Ashley had rung up $700! She didn’t understand what had happened of course so I didn’t get mad at her but I made her pay me some of her pocket money, Sam paid the rest. I tried to get the money back from the card company but they said they would only do it if I pressed charges! Apart from being family, she was 7 yrs old!! We all learned a lesson that time.
Hope Kristoffer has had a good day. There is only a week and two years between my oldest two boys so they always had a joint party on the Saturday in between. It might not have worked if they had been a boy and a girl, though.
    Enjoy Julie when she arrives.

  11. Laura: Hello! Yes, the Caroline from Jeanne is definitely a Civil War era girl. She is a cousin to my other Caroline doll with true blue eyes named January. ( at the time I got January, I purposely wanted her to have the true blue eyes.)
Now, I’m glad I have Jeanne’s Caroline because she has those gorgeous aqua eyes. And of course the two doll characters are cousins which is fun. I think I have them living in the North. I have their history written down somewhere.
You mentioned a site concerning American Girl
dolls and clothing for sale just recently ? I can’t find where you mentioned it. It was two letters? I’m not familiar with it. Thank you.

    1. Hi Paula, That’s great that Caroline and January are cousins. I renamed my Caroline and Marie-Grace and have them being cousins as well. I love Caroline’s seafoam eyes. I think she’s a gorgeous doll as well.
Oh dear, what did I mention? Two letters? The only thing I recall regarding AG items for sale recently was the seller lovvbugg on EBay. I got a pair of kitty cat shoes, a 13 star flag, and doll scale colored pencils there a few years ago. She sells a variety of accessories and AG knockoff clothing Was that it? The only other place I bought some neat things… little books, a thimble for Felicity, and a buttonhook for Samantha was Cat’s Paw Doll accessories
https://www.catspawonline.com/ Please let me know if either sound right.

  12. Rebecca looks thrilled to be in that outfit! She does look super in those colors and didn’t the outside pictures bring out the colors so well? Nothing like a cloudy day for good pics. Showing that outfit on all the different dolls is a great idea.
Barbara, I looked up the Doll site you got a pattern from but couldn’t tell which pattern it was….cute site though
    Happy Birthday to your Kristoffer!

  13. Kathie I don’t know if you’ll check back again today but I’ll double check tomorrow to see. The dress is under the 14.5″ – 15″ category and it is called a suspender dress. It’s a romper and dress in a black and white fabric. Hope this helps.
