Your Doll Post came a few days early…

I was hoping today would be a little less busy, but *alas* it was NOT! A haircut for my hubby, I had to change his urostomy pouch, he still can’t mow with the push mower so yours truly did the trim work, we did bills, I cut and painted the wood pieces for my new thread holder and a few more unexciting things caused my day to be very full. We even ordered take out from our favorite Mexican restaurant and I picked it up, but still my day was too short to do much…although, I guess I did get a few things done…

Anyway, I didn’t have any new pictures to share, so I resorted to my doll list. I picked 3 dolls at random by dropping my pencil down on the list… and Nyssa, Josefina and Lanie came up as the winners. I thought I’d share a few of my favorite pictures from each girl.

Nyssa will be up first. She is my 17″ Kaye Wiggs doll and is made from a French resin. Her eyes and wig can be changed so it’s almost like a different doll every time you do so.

When she came up for pre-order, these were the 2 pictures that made my heart melt… I discovered her too late for the pre-order but eventually an unbelievable thing happened and I ended up with a Nyssa from Kaye Wiggs’ private collection. Aren’t those preview pictures gorgeous?

Next up is 18″ American Girl, Josefina. I’ve had 2 or 3 different Josefina dolls and have always enjoyed making her pretty dresses! She always enjoyed MODELING them for me! I loved making peasant tops for her and colorful skirts with sashes.

…and last up is Lanie. I don’t have her anymore either, but she was fun while she was with me… I sold several of her things on Etsy…

Well, I hope that brought a smile to your face on this Fabulous Friday!
See you tomorrow for a Super Saturday!

Blessings, Jeanne

  1. So, I’m first today? This is strange.
I think my favorite outfit is that of Josefina, in the teal blouse and skirt. Simplistic but lovely.
Going to be another hot day today so we have all of the windows open to let in the cool morning air. Soon we’ll close everything and turn on the fans. These are the days when I wish we had air conditioning.
Pretty excited as yesterday I was drawn for a lovely chocolate 18″ girl from My Meadow. Can’t wait for her to arrive. She’ll join her sisters who are so thrilled to have another companion.

    1. Hi Joy,
I like that outfit for Josefina too…it’s funny, but as I looked at all her pretty colorful clothes, it made me want to sew for her again…silly me!!

I can’t believe you don’t have AC…. I might lose my mind if we didn’t have it here. The humidity is just awful some days but fortunately today it was less than 40 %.

Oh how wonderful to get one of those chocolate “Sylvia Scarlett’s?” I bet you were thrilled…
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. you are right about Nyssa — she’s a whole collection in one doll. The green dress was always my favorite for her. the black is a close second, and the blue jacket outfit is worthy of a big name designer.
I can finally type, painfully and badly, but it’s a big step in the right direction.

    1. Hi Marilyn,
Nyssa certainly deserves more modeling time. Maybe she’ll get it this time.
I am SO thrilled for you and your typing. I’ll pray specifically for ease of typing with no pain…
It’s so nice to have you back again Marilyn!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. I love the Kaye Wiggs dolls. I don’t have any because I haven’t been able to find one at the right price, but I don’t mind living vicariously. Nyssa is the perfect model. Anything she wears looks fantastic on her. I love her dress with the blue jacket. Josefina is always lovely and the creations you make for her are perfect. My favorite is the outfit where she is carrying the dog. Lanie is beautiful. Her purple outfit with the bonnet is my favorite for her.

Joy is going to be blessed with a new addition to her family. Wonderful! I don’t spend as much time on dolly things as I’d like to so I miss out on all the wonderful contests she seems to win. I belong to the Meadow doll and the Dianna Effner sites, but never seem to get around to visiting them. I also belong to the FF Facebook page and get notices when something new comes up on that, but usually by the time I see an outfit my girls would like, it’s already been sold.

I’ve had a new outfit ready to make for Bella but it hasn’t gone past the cutting out stage as yet. I was making it for her for the 4th of July. With hubby’s shingles I haven’t been able to get in there to work on it. I’ve been doing a lot of running around buying this and that to hopefully make him more comfortable. Today I will be in search of an eye patch. And meals have been a bit of a challenge since until yesterday it hurt him to eat. We’re just taking things one day at a time.

    1. Oh, Barbara,
Maybe someday you’ll find a Kaye Wiggs girl for your very own. They truly are wonderful!

I miss a lot of those giveaways too, but even when I see them, I can’t join in… it’s just the way it is… but it’s fun when someone else wins something and shares it with all of us..

Taking care of our hubby’s takes plenty of time in our day, doesn’t it? It’s 9:55 and I haven’t been in my sewing room all day…yikes!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, thanks for posting doll photos. They always make me smile.

  5. This seems to be a good time for my annual reminder to get the shingles vaccine and Pneumovax if you haven’t had them. It’s two shots but you only need them once, unlike the flu shots.

Can’t believe there are still outfits I haven’t seen and I’ve been following for years. Congratulations on another great post.

    1. Hi Susette,
I’m glad you are still seeing new things!! I love to keep you guessing! :o)
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Fun seeing pictures of your various dolls.
I really like the lilac and white you created for Lanie. It looks as if you may have used Josefina’s Christmas dress and added a double ruffle to the bottom.
Hope everyone is staying cool… can’t wait to have our AC fixed. that’s one modern convenience that is hard to live without.

    1. Hi Laura,
Good eye on the purple dress…yes, it was Josefinas pattern with my touch..I’m glad you liked it.
I hope you get the AC fixed or a cold front goes through soon for you!!! It’s hard to do anything when it’s so hot!!
      Thanks Laura,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. The dolls are lovely. None are available here, unfortunately and the postage is exorbitant but love looking at all your lovely ones. I feel inspired to start a doll collection. Just have the one currently, an Our Generation, which is all that is available here.
So lovely to see all the lovely dresses, do you make your own patterns? So clever. Look forward to seeing more when your life slows down a little, lol

    1. Hi Anne,
It must be awful to see a doll you like and not be able to get her.
I think you have a great outlook…if you can’t have more dolls, sew for the one you have!!

I do draft lots of my own patterns but also sew with purchased ones too. I’m always tweaking whatever I’m sewing with. One of these days I’d like to sell some patterns but I’m not there yet.
      Thanks Anne,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Reading this made me curious about a doll my mother gave me probably 65 years ago. So I googled it and found Terri Lee 🙂. I still have a couple of outfits mother made so many years ago and I still have some of the patterns. But right now she’s wearing something I purchased from you Jeanne at the Farmer’s Market.

    1. Really Joy?
Oh, I’d love to see pictures of your Terri Lee doll in it.. how fun for you to have discovered who she is…
      Blessings, Jeanne
