I had a little down time Sunday afternoon and thought I could at least pose a few questions so you all could carry on. Even if I’m not able to chime in because of my hubby’s surgery, I hope you’ll chat amongst yourselves, like you’ve done many times before. I’ll do my best to give an update later on in the day…
I’m going to think of a few questions that can be answered by anyone; regardless if you collect and sew for dolls or if you are here because you like my remodeling projects…
Question #1:
What 3 words best describe you?
Question #2:
What’s the most unusual thing you own?
Question #3:
What were you really into when you were a kid?
Let’s see what you all come up with. :o)
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
First of all, Jeanne, know that you and George are in my thoughts and prayers (and I’m sure I’m not the only one!).
Okay. Question 1: Christian, friendly, sewing. I guess those three words describe me best, although there are a few others (dealing with appearance, hobbies, etc.)–it’s hard to use just three! But I think those are the most important ones.
Question 2: hm….I have the cast I kicked off my leg when I was a baby! My right foot was turned way out when I was born, and I had a cast on my leg for the first three months of my life. I outgrew two of them and they were removed the usual way, I guess, but mom said I kicked this one off, so she kept it, and I have it now. (I also have my first corrective shoes, size 00, I think.) I wore corrective shoes until I was about 10, I think, and–probably at least partly because of that, and partly because I have Very small feet (size 2)–have Always loved cute shoes! (and I have a lot of them!)
Question 3: Dolls, paper dolls, and reading! I was very small, and not very strong, nor very coordinated, so quite content to do quiet things like playing with my dolls and reading. I loved paper dolls, too, and still have the one mom had sent away to be made with a picture of my head on a paper doll body. Some clothes were tinted, and some you could color. I have the doll as well as at least most of the clothes. I still have most of my childhood dolls, too. I was also a voracious reader, and read well above my grade level. I still love to read, and usually have at least two books going at once!
Today has been an uncomfortable day for me (my back, because of that fall)–glad I have an appt. tomorrow afternoon. Laura is out all week, so I’ll be seeing another nurse practitioner at the same clinic. Hoping for some relief and help dealing with this thing. Thanks to those who’ve kept me in their prayers! I’ve read the comments each night, and often someone will mention it. That means a lot.
Bonjour Jeanne,
Je pense bien à toi et ton mari.
You’re in my thoughts.
1) Patient, funny and « easytolivewith « I know it’s not 1 word but 4 🙄 words…..
2) I own the big wheeled pram with hood which was my grand grand grand mother ! It still roll but need to be renovate for sure . I can’t help thinking one day it will be used again for
my grands children to come !
3) Colored pencils, books, lots of books. ! And dreams…..
Have a nice day !
Thoughts are with George for a successful tuneup. Hope the medical people keep you posted regularly too. Enjoy shopping at Joann’s. Wish I could do the same, but not yet. Maybe in a week or two. 🙂
Prayers for George for a successful surgery. Praying that you’re getting better each day also, Charlotte. I also had corrective shoes for many years as a child due to very flat feet. Never had dress mary janes for church until I was seven.
Question 1 friendly, sensitive, creative and I have to add animal lover as a fourth.
Question 2 I have the violin that belonged to my great, great, great grandfather as well as a photo of my grandfather holding it. He brought it with him from Germany when he immigrated in 1927. It’s beautiful with the purfling and has a “tree of life” on the front across from the chin rest. I also have the bisque bride and groom from my grandparent wedding cake as well as a number of special family heirlooms.
Question 3 As a child I loved animals (obviously still do), Little House on the Prairie lifestyle (loved old-fashioned crafts, baking, flowers, paper dolls, and creating my own playthings from paper, fabric etc. I, too, was a voracious reader. I also always had a book with me and would often finish one and almost immediately pick up another. The summer I was ten I read the entire Anne of Green Gables series. I also enjoyed drawing and would make up elaborate stories in my head or sometimes on paper to go with my pictures or Fisher Price Little People toys. I had a vivid imagination and to a great extent, still do.
Hi Jeanne,
My prayers for George.
#1. Quiet, busy and sometimes too industrious.
#2. hmm, I’m not sure
#3. Horses, horses
Healing vibes headed your way, Jeanne, for a smooth, successful surgery for George! Also to Charlotte, for relief from stubborn back pain!
Question 1: Um, not sure I can use just 3 words. Outspoken, goodsenseofhumor, compassionate.
Question 2: oh, goodness, I own a lot of odd things. Maybe my mother’s black inlaid jewelry box from Okinawa, Japan. Or my collection of Marx Best of the West figures & horses.
Question 3: Books and Barbies. Which was predictive—I grew up to be an English professor and doll collector!
Jeanne, I’m thinking, thinking, thinking! I only wish George a successful surgery and an early release, if not a normal release from the hospital tomorrow.
I will be checking. in later with info about me!
So sorry your back is still so painful Charlotte. Did you try the Salon pas yet? They really do help.
Hope George’s knee will heal quickly!
