I can’t believe how many of you thought we got snow here! I’ll have to try and be clever more often!! :o)
My hubby decided he would rather put concrete in that corner area rather than that expanding foam. (That corner is where I’m running to if there’s ever an earthquake. :o) It’s got to be super sturdy by now!
Anyone notice what I did in this next picture?
If you guessed painted the trim white you were right…since my new wall was brighter, I wanted to have my trim match…and yes, Joy, I think I’ll paint my door too! It’s just the first coat, but I love how it matches the wall now.
This was the trim before…
It’s hard to believe it looked like this a week ago…
Want to see my “inspiration” picture? Cindy found this and it was the color of my room with a white wall. What could be more inspiring than that? I decided to “go for it” and see where I could take my room.
Well, this was short and sweet.
Hope you enjoy your weekend. I know what I’ll be doing!!
See you Monday,
Blessings, Jeanne
Your sewing room is coming along beautifully, Jeanne!! I like the addition of white trim on your other wall–ties everything together!
So beautiful, Jeanne and will be so enjoyable to work in. Enjoy your weekend and that super safe corner!
Blessings.
Leave it to Cindy to find a matching inspiration room. Pretty amazing find. Let’s see how many of those pieces are around here. Enamel pan, check, trunk, check, vintage scale, check, old 50’s dresser that could use chalk paint, check. Looks like a good start on this vignette.
Absolutely can’t wait to see the sewing table in place and your machines ready for work. The new space will be divine.
George’s call for concrete in the corner will certainly cause stability. I think you should make a little display book of all of the photos of the simple project turned into a major one. Would be a great coffee table book and bring back great memories of the engineering and ingenuity involved in this project. 🙂
The white window trim really finishes off the “look”. I love the contrasting pictures one after another. Got to show my hubby these. I’ve been keeping him updated on what you and George have been doing. It’s hard to catch him sometimes to show him the whole thing. He comes in for lunch and leaves again before I can show him. These pictures will be quick and give a good overview.
I would love to have the room in the picture Cindy sent. Unfortunately I’m the only one in the family who would appreciate that. My family has never been big on decorating. Mostly they didn’t want to have to bother with upkeep. I remember seeing a “Maw and Paw Kettle” movie once where a neighbor came to visit. There was something on every piece of furniture so maw just gathered things up and put them on one chair leaving the others available for sitting. She said she used to try to keep the house tidy and free of clutter but she was the only one who seemed to care so she gave up. I did better than that, but it was tough at times. I always kept my office at work very organized. I couldn’t work in chaos like some others did. I had someone come in my office one day and remark on how tidy it was. They said my house must be immaculate. I said, you assume I’m the only one who lives there.
I like Joy’s idea of a coffee table book of this project. It’s definitely worth looking back on and reminiscing.
Love the room that Cindy found. It has a lovely country farmhouse look to me, just lovely, bright, and relaxing.
Your sewing room will be wonderful when it’s finished, and just think, all this new beauty because you wanted a new sewing station. Blessings in disguise.
I bet all the dolls are enjoying their living improvements as well.
The white trim pops- it really looks striking. The picture Cindy found is certainly inspiring. Jeanne, there must be so many ideas going through your head. This will be fun to see how you pull your room together.
Having lived with designed rustic wood furniture and paneling in the 80’s, Now I’m so into white woodwork and white furniture. I like the light airiness of that look and then filling it in with colorful accessories. The picture Cindy found is remarkable to what you chose for your background. Can’t wait to see that corner with your sewing desk.
How in the world did Cindy ever find that picture? I thought at first that you had finished everything…. ha ha but then realized there was a bed.
It will look as nice as the pic… what a find!
Enjoy finishing it
Dear Jeanne, I love how things have turned out. Yes, white on the trim was a great decision.
Cindy’s pick for the inspiration room is darling.
Now you need a sign to hang outside to go with the new decor.
It could say: Jeanne’s Dolly World
or Dolly Diva Designs
or Exquisite Dolly Clothes
I found a cute (inspiration) sign on etsy. I don’t know if I can put a link here so I will put it in an email to you.
The first dolly outfit you make when your room is all put back is going to be very special.
Wishing everyone a great weekend.
Everything is coming along beautifully.
The inspiration photo Cindy sent is wonderful, amazing how much it looks like your room already!
You will be back to sewing in your newly updated sewing room before you know it. Once I was able to move into our oldest son’s vacated room (moved out after college) it gave me an all new inspiration for sewing.
Good Sunday morning Jeanne! I missed yesterday, and now find I am the absolute last person to comment !
Oh, I love that inspiration room Cindy found for you! So airy light and feminine! It fits in perfectly with what you have and when you get that sewing desk put in, you will just love sewing again in such an inspiring setting! I know I would!
Are you making new curtains? That could be the number one thing to start on, and I love the ones in the picture. Of course, your sewing table will not allow for full length curtains, but something else can be managed there that will give it the same look, even if they are shorter. They could be opened most of the time anyway and out of your way for sewing. I love that taupe and white or beige and white checked pillow!
I finally got my annuals planted and just in time before the rain came. What a wash out!
