It’s ALL Ten Ping’s fault…

Before we get to my post for today, I wanted to share a picture I somehow missed from Ingrid… It’s one of ALL her girls…and is so cute. Included in the photo from left to right in the back are Human coffee tan Missy by Kaye Wiggs, Sara by Friends Forever Ruby Red, front row left to right, Boneka Tuesday Child repainted; her name is Harper,
Heartstring Jackie is not new but new to Ingrid, and dumpling Bailey renamed BaiLinn by My Meadow, and painted by the talented Charlene Smith.

Thanks Ingrid! What a nice family of sweeties you have there!

Ten Ping and I had a great time making and trying on this dress set today. Every few minutes she’d ask me if she needed to try it on again. Sometimes the small dresses take as much time as the larger ones.

I made a tiny little pair of pantalettes to go under her dress.

I wanted to make her a straw hat…and I did…using the hat mold I had made out of clay for Noel.

I thought for sure I had used it for Ten Ping, but apparently I was wrong…

I think it was just a few minutes after I let out a big sigh that Noel hopped down off the dolly shelf, grabbed the hat off Ten Ping’s head and said, “Look mom…maybe I can be next in line for a dress”

So I’ve run into a few snags…

I don’t have any paper flowers in the right shade of blue to use on the hat…

I’ll have to check and see if I have any clay to form a smaller hat mold…and then try again.

I don’t have any wool felt in the right shade of blue if I wanted to make a fabric hat instead of a straw one…

I have no shoes for Ten Ping in blue or ivory so it looks like I’ll be making a pair in some off white Ultrasuede.

I should have thought through my color choices before I started…it’s all Ten Ping’s fault!!

I’ll keep working…you keep watching…

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Dear Jeanne, Ten Ping is adorable in the dress. She looks lovely in blue.

Yes, I think Noel should be next in line for an outfit.

    1. Hi Dorothy,
Noel thinks so TOO!! I’m glad you like Noel’s dress…wait till you see what I made today!!

Well, Gigi (Ten Ping’s friend, who I have) is quite annoyed with me tonight, because I apparently didn’t see your post last night!! Now she’s telling me, “I could have helped Auntie Jeanne choose the fabric” (and of course, knowing Gigi, it would have been pink! LOL). She is also hinting that she has never had a blue outfit before, and perhaps blue would be Almost as nice on her as pink is!! These little girls!!!

Can’t wait to see what you’ll come up with Jeanne. Nothing like a little challenge to help you think “outside the box”!!

    1. Hi Charlotte,
You better get that Giggi of yours a blue dress made!!!
Well, I’ve done LOTS of thinking today and came up with a solution to one of my problems!!
      Thanks Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

I meant to say, thanks, Ingrid, for sharing a picture of your dolls. They are all just wonderful! I’m wondering if I might not “need” a Bailey, too. Hmmm….(I do have two Bonekas and one of the Ruby Red Fashion Friends–Bella–already, so it’s not like I’m lacking dolls!)

    1. Yes, you REALLY do need a Bailey! You would be amazed at how fun she is…and how adorable too!!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. What a darling group of dolls, Ingrid! I really like Sara, and wonder where you find clothes for her? I won’t get a doll that I can’t find clothes for! I especially love the smiling dolls, they make me happy!

Ten Ping will certainly love her new dress, Jeanne! Sorry about the hat! I had no idea her hair was that long, and are you going to keep it down? All the Chinese dolls that I have seen have short, straight hair with bangs, so Ten Ping is quite different from the norm!

Why not a white felt hat with blue trim or ribbon? Or just a big fabric bow made of the same material of the dress and pantalettes? I know you will think of something!!

    1. Hi Linda,
I’ve got the “hat” thing figured out…at least I think I do.
Her wig is the one she came in…it’s a thick mohair one that was initially in braids, but I took them out. I do have a short bob wig that I might give a try.
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Thanks for sharing your wonderful family of dolls, Ingrid. It’s so nice to see the dolls others collect, especially the ones who are smiling.

It takes every bit as much sewing to make a dress for a tiny doll, an AG doll or even for a child. Just as many seams, but maybe not as many snaps, ha, ha.

    1. Hi Susette,
I laughed at your “snaps” comment!! So true!!
      Thsnks so much!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Glitches glitches. What’s a girl to do? Ten Ping wears the blue so well. It looks like no glitches with the dress or pantaloons. Maybe for this one, add a sweet fabric headband and call it a day. Ten can be photoed running through the grass barefoot carrying a little basket of wildflowers! So springy. If you decide on shoes, perhaps a ballet flat for her tiny feet?
I feel your pain in not having the supplies needed. I finally got to the paint part of my recycling project yesterday, and had to mix some green, pink, and red to get a brownish that would work. Woke up in the middle of the night and remembered that I had forgotten to paint the top part. So, how am I going to get that color again? Crazy.
I second Linda’s idea of the white felt hat for Ten. Maybe one of those cute 50’s ones that tie and have embroidery?
Wow, Ingrid has some beautiful dolls. Love that dress on Sara too. Such a lovely family.
Looks like a cold sunny day here. Can’t wait until home confinement is over. 🙂

    1. Hi Joy,
I found some blue paper flowers for a hat, but they’re coming from Thailand…2-3 weeks to get here! NOT!!
I hope you got more paint mixed up…

I did get the hat issue solved…you’ll see…
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Thank you Ingrid for sharing, loved seeing dressed dolls! Mine are mostly naked. As for Ten ping’s hat how about aa fabric oval shape like Addy or Felicity might wear that is tied with neck ribbons?

    1. Hi Dorothy,
Your idea of an oval shaped hat like some I’ve made for Addy was my second choice and I almost had to do that, but I figured out something else… hope you’ll like it!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Ingrid I love your dolly family. Oh to have Boneka doll, sigh…. I have the little blue dress made by Jo but I can’t remember if I have it for my Heartstring dolls or Tiny Betsy.

Ten Ping’s dress and pantaloons are too cute. Ah the dilemma of head gear. I’m there myself right now for a couple outfits. I’ve decided on a crocheted hat for my Paola Reina Cleo and maybe one for Chloe my Les Cheries. Then I decided on Boater hats for Betsy and Taylor Jane. They are done using plastic canvas and raffia yarn which I just ordered. The hat pattern is for all sizes and I got it from Pixie Faire.

I mentioned yesterday about the masks on hold at the auction house. Evidently there’s a feeling that it involved price gouging. It is an auction and the man who won said he was donating the masks, so I really don’t get the dilemma.

Grandkids are chomping at the bit to play a game so gotta go.

    1. Hi Barbara,
Those grands of yours will keep you young!! You’ll be “gamed out” by the time this is all over!! Hope you had fun!!
The hat dilemma I was in is now solved!! Yay!!
      Thanks Barbara,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. I remember having a “hat” my Aunt made to match some dresses she made my sister and I out of some similar printed organdy.
It was a head band that had a ruffle gathered on to it that was narrow at the ear and got wider as it went over the top of the head….can you picture that? Wish I could find a picture because it would be sweet with this outfit.
Ingrid your dolls are the cutest collection! We have similar taste in dolls… maybe someday I will have a Meadow doll….they are so freaky cute!

    1. Hi Kathie,
I can picture your hair accessory with the ruffle on the headband perfectly. Wow, I’ve gotten some good ideas but I figured something else out! You’ll see it tomorrow! How everyone likes it!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. Hi Jeanne,
Ten Pings dress came together nicely. It’s so sweet and I love the color. I know you’ll figure out the little bumps, you always do. I love Joys idea of her running barefooted carrying a little basket of spring flowers. Whatever you decide on no doubt things will all come together beautifully.
Jeanne, It was sweet of you to include the photo of my newest girls. Thanks to everyone for the kind comments. I love all my new sweethearts but I’m head off heels with BaiLinn and Harper who now has the sweetest face after her spa appointment.
Charlotte, you are to cute! Everyone needs a smiley girl like Bailey!
Linda, Sara borrowed a dress that was made for Little Darlings, it’s rather roomy so it fits Sara well and I don’t mind the dress being on the short side.
Kathie you will love the My Meadow dolls, the dumpling size is such fun to play with.
    Happy Friday everyone!
    Hugs
    Ingrid

    1. Hi Ingrid,
Thanks for your compliments on Ten Pings dress set. She DOES look pretty in this color blue.
I DID figure out one of the bumps…the hat! Wait till you see it!!
I couldn’t agreemore…everyone needs a Bailey…or at least some other My Meadows doll.
      Thanks Ingrid,
      Blessings, Jeanne
