~ TIME FOR TEA ~ for Navi and all My Meadow Twinkles dolls ~ is listed on Ebay

I never made it to your comments again because I “turned this picture taking thing” into an all day affair! Not because I wanted, but it just worked out that way. I did use the Light Tent and I thought my pictures looked pretty nice, but when I got them to Ebay, they seemed to change colors on me and she looked orange again. I read up on some tips for taking pictures of dolls, but never found the answer, so I just listed them the way they were. I think I need “professional help!” :o) Seriously I do!

I need to have Kristoffer take a look at my pictures…he’s pretty good with camera stuff, and see what he thinks. Maybe it’s time for a new camera. I just put away my light tent, but now I’m wishing I had taken at least a few pictures with my Samsung Galaxy S9 phone’s camera. It may have been my solution to the whole thing. Who knows? But for now, you can see it on Ebay… by clicking on the picture at the right side bar, or you can click HERE and be taken to the auction.

Here are a few teaser pictures till you see them all on Ebay…

I thought I’d show you my set up as I took the pictures of Navi with her “friends.” I used my Ott light on the end, pointing at the subjects and then used the 2 photo lights at the sides as fill lights… That’s where my instructions said to position them…

Well, I guess my Valentine season is over… Boo Hoo… I can’t believe I am done! I guess it’s time for Easter. I better get started right away! Anyone have a favorite doll they want me to start with?

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

I think your pictures turned out beautifully, Jeanne.

And, oh my goodness, the outfit has SOLD already!! That didn’t last any time at all!!

Thanks everyone for the birthday greetings! No cake, but I sure got plenty of candy and other treats!! Some from my friend in Hawaii, and some from my husband. I’m going to have to be really careful to parcel them out a bit at a time or I will be Rolling instead of walking!! LOL

  2. What? Just like that………..it’s gone! Well, congratulations on that , Jeanne! It’s hard to believe that there are many other small dolls out there, that need a pretty dress and tea set, but there you go, you found one!

The pictures look just fine to me, who knows next to nothing about how to take a professional picture. They certainly did catch someone’s eye enough to buy the whole set!

As for who to dress next, I am thinking something Victorian, something old time and frilly. As for what doll, I am not sure who you have right now! Maybe one of the LD dolls too. I’m no help, but I’m early,, and we can see what everyone else says later on.

  3. You have a far newer version phone than I have. People who go on international photo tours no longer feel it necessary to take a camera along. I’m certain Kristoffer will be able to show you how to use the edit functions that are built into the phone. It takes seconds, literally, to crop, change lighting effects and color tones on pictures. I’ve sent pictures in the past that have been edited, all with a maximum of four clicks. Check out the booklet that came with your camera before Kristoffer comes over. He’ll probably know how to do editing without even looking at the book. Your life will change when you figure this out.

Another tip: My sons wondered why I was paying too much for cellphone service. I belong to AARP and saw the advertisement for Consumer Cellular for about $25 a month while I was paying way over $100 for Verizon! They contract through AT&T and service is great. I have several thousand pictures in my phone or kept in the Cloud and they can be downloaded, of course. More memory is available for little very little more monthly. AARP membership is about $12 a year.

Navi looks just darling. So much for not many people having those dolls. She’ll be very sad to lose her outfit so quickly. A “mini bamboo table and chair set” is on eBay for which someone made Dallas Cowboy chair cushions and tablecloth! Only $10 +$10 shipping. It works for Ten Ping size dolls too.

    1. You can save each edit so the original can be edited several times to see which one you like best

  4. I love the photos of Navi sitting on the floor with her friends. Everything is placed so well. Just a fun photo. And the set was snatched up very quickly too. Yay!
I’m sure Easter is on a lot of minds, but there is still St. Patrick’s Day and a lot dress their dolls for that too. Maybe a cute outfit with some green might work for that and Easter with the appropriate props.
I’m actually working on a dress for a larger doll right now. Well, it is cut out at least. Sewing always takes forever for me as I only work a bit on it each day. Not like Jeanne, the sewing whiz. 🙂

Dear Jeanne, she is absolutely adorable. It doesn’t get any better than dolls and tea.

When you finish the Easter ensemble, you might want to work on a Suffragette dress as we are celebrating the 19th Amendment this year. Yeaaa, women!

  6. Oh my! Congratulations! Could you make another similar outfit asap. You already have all the accessories ready. That bed is the cutest thing ever!
Make a set in blue with a different hat?
Love all the info on pics with your phone.
My son who is a semi pro photographer only uses his phone now too.
Off to see an orchid garden today!

  7. Boy that sold fast! I rushed to take a look at it afraid that it might be gone soon. Seeing Navi in the light tent pictures made me really realize how small she is. Very! I think I would have had trouble including the tea set. Very generous, and it probably went a long way to providing incentive to buy the outfit, not that it’s not over-the-moon cute enough by itself.

When you’re ready to do an Easter dress (assuming you may do a St. Patrick’s Day outfit first), how about Isabelle. Two reasons, I just love that doll and I have two LDs that could wear it. I finished Lolla’s cute little Valentine romper and vest the other day. I decided against making the vest reversible until I figure out another way to do it other than the way the pattern said. My fingers don’t work well in tiny spaces and I don’t have arthritis, they’re just not as flexible as they once were. But the outfit turned out cute with the polka dot vest just lined in the contrasting fabric and she probably would have worn the polka dot side out most anyway. I finished a Valentine jumper for Sofie yesterday. Really cute. I need to do the blouse today. What I can’t figure out is why when one has a 50-50 chance of getting something right or wrong, it will more than likely be wrong. Seems like 100-1 to me that I will have to rip it out and redo it. The jumper had straps and I put the seam in the middle of the back of the strap. When I sewed the bodice to the skirt darned if I didn’t sew it on backwards, even though I told myself to watch out for that. I was careful when I pulled out the stitches so I wouldn’t have to stop and regather the skirt, but I’d rather it worked right the first time. Hubby says it happens to him sometimes too and it usually involves needing to use another piece of wood.

I just got a call from my son saying he had passed his air conditioning license exam. He has been studying like crazy for about a month and he says some of the questions on the test weren’t anything like the ones in his study material. I think they do this to cull people, since if he hadn’t studied as hard as he did he would never have passed it at all. I think taking the family to dinner is in order. Maybe Texas Roadhouse.

  8. Congratulations to your son, Barbara. Enjoy your dinner out.
As Linda said…. poof it’s gone. Darling little set and the tea set fits her perfectly.
I also agree with Linda that a Victorian/Edwardian style dress would be fun to see. The Victorians were big on Easter. I know you did that sweet outfit with my suggestion of the White House egg roll last year/ year before, not sure with Samantha. I don’t know who all you have yet either. Your “My Dolls ” page doesn’t show her, so maybe she’s gone, but I think you have Nellie who isn’t there either. Just for fun, you could remind us who all you have.
Dorothy’s idea of a Suffragette dress is wonderful and Samantha would be the ideal choice. I love the scene from Mary Poppins with Glynis Johns marching around shouting “Votes for Women”.

  9. Oh that is a cute scene with Navi and her bear friends. I struggle with photography too, and I will say I am not nearly as good at it as you are. I think your photos look great!
