Happy Saturday everyone!
I had lots to do on Friday but managed to get a few new slips made for the American Girl dolls. I now have the red ones and the rosy pink slips listed in my Etsy shop if you’d like to take a peek. Click HERE to see them. OR… you can click on the little thumbnail pictures from my Etsy shop, down on the right side bar of my website. There are 9 little pictures and if you click on one it will take you to my Etsy shop. Click on my name “IDreamOfJeanneMarie” to see all my other items I have listed. Thanks!
I’ve pulled out a piece of fabric for (I think) the next doll dress… stay tuned for more details…
That’s all…
See you Monday!
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh, what fun! That first one looks like one of my square dance petticoats, back when we could still dance without falling over or ending up in pain!! LOL
I wonder who will be up next for an outfit?!
Hi Charlotte,
Everyone should own a red slip!!! Don’t you think?
Well, I won’t tell you “who” but I will tell you it’s blue!”
Hope you had a nice day…
Blessings, Jeanne
Those slips are sumptuous! I found some rolls of tulle, at a thrift store yesterday, that I think would work well for petticoats. I’m going to give it a try eventually.
Hi Julia,
I hope your tulle works well for some dolly slips!!
Thanks for liking mine…
Blessings, Jeanne
Always enjoy seeing tulle, especially when it is made into such cute slips. I think it reminds me of my childhood. My Ginny dolls had lots of slips in their wardrobes. I personally never wore them because they were quite itchy. I was fortunate because my grandmother made my slips from lovely soft satin fabric. Lucky me. 🙂
Have a hopefully cool weekend.
Hi Joy,
3 of the 4 slips disappeared today so I need to make some more…everytime I make one I learn a little more about streamlining them…
Yes, lucky you wearing satin slips…I remember the itchy kind…
I just finished altering another bridesmaid dress…last one…now get to relax but it’s time for bed…
I didn’t get anything done on my next “blue” dress…oh well…
Night Joy,
Blessings, Jeanne
I just bought one of your slips and now have a leg up on making Gracie a beautiful Christmas dress to go with it. I loved all the slips, but just had to have the red one with the wide lace – or rather Gracie did.
I planned on sewing yesterday but as does happen, life intervened. I was washing fabric and t-shirts to get started on my little girl outfits. I went out to put the fabric in the dryer and surprise, surprise! The washer was full of water and would not turn on. I’ve had it for awhile and felt it’s life expectancy was coming to an end because it was making some strange noises. So I spent my sewing time researching washers and dryers. My extended tumble cycle on the dryer went out two weeks ago and I’ve been using the timed dry, so I figured I’d go for broke and get a whole new set. I like them to match anyway. Since I have an older house in Texas and the old way was to put the washer and dryer in the garage, I never spend a lot on my washers and dryers. But that seems good these days because that’s the only way you can avoid the totally computerized new washers that tend to do as they please. One lady said her washer locked and she had to call the repairman before she could get her clothes out. He said it was a bad computer – and the washer was new. Some other people said they couldn’t get the machine to fill enough to cover the clothes. There won’t be much sewing today either because now I have to go buy the ones I settled on. Maybe tomorrow… I did get a short set cut out for Betsy so the day wasn’t a total loss sewing-wise.
Hi Barbara,
Thank you for buying one of the red slips today!! I hope you enjoy using it under Gracie’s Christmas dress. You have 4 1/2 months to get her dress made.
Oh I’m so sorry about your washer and dryer…my hubby has taken our washers and dryers apart so many times over the years it’s not funny.
I hope you find the perfect set and maybe laundry will be kind of fun..
At least for a little while.
Have fun tomorrow.
Blessings, Jeanne
