Want to see what was under Rebecca’s dress? Take a look below…
Now what to see what else was under there? I didn’t have any white ruffled tulle, so I had to use ivory.
There is boning added to one of the rows of ruffles… I love the pictures of my dolls laying down so you can see the “hoop” in the petticoat!
Here’s a close up of those pantalettes…I decorated them with white bows so they could be worn with any color dress.
So I guess by now you’ve figured out I’m saving her bonnet for last. Hopefully tomorrow you’ll see it finished and the icing on the cake. :o)
Thanks everyone,
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
What pretty underpinnings! Loving the petticoat and pantalettes! Did the tulle come with all those ruffles on it? Guess I’ll need to see if I can find something like it. Is there already a channel for the boning, or did you add one?
Good news: I finished Rurik’s blanket tonight! Still need to take pictures.
Hi Charlotte,
Yes, the tulle came in rows like that…makes it much quicker to make a petticoat.
The boning comes wrapped in a fabric sleeve…I just sewed it to the last ruffle.
Congrats on finishing the blanket… good for you!
Blessings, Jeanne
Simply beautiful, Jeanne! I love the pretty ruffled petticoat, and think that the ivory color makes it look like it is more in keeping with the “antique” look. I remember you made a petticoat like that for Felicity not long ago, and it was such a stunning addition. Who needs a dress with that?? 😉
The pantalettes are adorable, I love the fancy cutwork at the bottom. Now to see the whole outfit together! Can’t wait!
We had a storm late afternoon yesterday, over an inch of rain in just 20 minutes! Where is the Ark when you need it? This spring has been extraordinarily wet!!
Thanks Linda,
I like those ruffled petticoats a lot…not quite so stiff and formal looking with that soft tulle for the ruffles.
Yes, I can’t wait to get pictures of it all together either. My day was full with “stuff” but I’m hoping to at least get pics of her bonnet…
We had more rain yesterday too…I agree with you about this being an extraordinarily wet time for us. Just about 45 miles south of us is Cape Girardeau, MO, and they are REALLY having flooding troubles…
Thanks Linda,
Blessings, Jeanne
So pretty! The pantalettes are beautiful and have that wonderful heirloom look. Especially love the bottom of them. Oh my, that petticoat and all those ruffles. Did you purchase it pre-ruffled or did you do all that work yourself. Too pretty to be covered by a dress.
@Linda we’ve have rain almost everyday for the last few months and the temps were nice until yesterday. The heat and humidity have reared it’s ugly head and now it’s unbearable to walk out the door.
Blessings!
We will suffer together I guess, Sandra! So humid out today and temps in the high 90’s. Ugh!
Hi Sandra
Yes I did buy that tulle already ruffled like that. Someday I should make a dress with rows and rows of ruffles on the “outside.”:o)
The sun is shining here n southern Illjnois, and the wind is a bit breezy…actually not too bad if you can ignore the humidity… :o)
Thanks Sandra,
Blessings, Jeanne
The undies are almost too pretty to be covered up. Lovely.
Was thinking of the German Owls yesterday. Why, because we saw a pretty mourning dove on our walk getting a drink from a natural spring. How are the birds doing? Tomatoes this year?
Thanks Joy,
Maybe I can get out to the cop and take some new pics of the Okd German Owls. I’m sure my hubby would be thrilled to see them in post again.
Did you “box” come already? Mine did but it fit in the mailbox so he never saw it…mine wasn’t a doll…but I bet yours is/was…
Blessings, Jeanne
Lovely underpinnings. I’ve always loved hoop skirts. I wore a hoop petticoat under my prom dress my junior year in high school (1964). The pantalettes are beautiful. Great choice of fabric and I love the pretty white bows.
Hubby showed up at noon yesterday and I got the whole story of the kitchen disaster. Everything was fine when we went to bed but during the night the filter started leaking and by the time he got his coffee the next morning the rug in front of the sink was soaked. If not for that it would have been all over my laminate flooring. It was a day for things happening. We had a storm in the afternoon. I was off getting my massage. When I got home I found our tree in the backyard had broken off a huge limb and it was covering my backyard. It had four ways to fall. Two would have done some serious damage to either my garage or an outbuilding. Thankfully it chose one of the other two and fell between my house and the outbuilding. Definitely Divine Intervention. Youngest son will be coming out today to help fix the filter problem since it’s hard for David to fix things under the sink these days. Then David and both the boys will break down the limb and put it out for the city to pick up. I plan on doing some sewing.
After a few days of low humidity, it’s back. Ugh!!!
Thanks for the compliments on the pantalettes and the petticoat. Rebecca must think “she’s ” going to the prom!!! :o)
It sounds like things are back to normal I. The “drain” department and SO glad that tree didn’t fall on your house…what a blessing!
Thanks Barbara,
Blessings, Jeanne
Those pantalettes deserve an auction of their own. How pretty can underpinnings get?
This was our coolest spring in 20 years and the garden has never been prettier. We’ve been very lucky. Just enough rain, nice temperatures.
I too have been wondering about the German Owls. It’s time for a report.
Hi Marilyn,
I’m glad you like the pantalettes so much. I have to admit, they really are pretty in person.
I’m glad you’ve had perfect weather for your garden’s sake!!
I’ll see what can do about the Owls… :o)
Blessings, Jeanne
The hoop skirt is going to make that dress amazing!
Every time I see the pantaloons I love them more. They are so cute peeking out from under the skirt.
Hummm…bonnet. Can’t wait to see that!
After the hail storm a month ago the flowers are recovering….I hope we have a late fall so the poor things have time to bloom for awhile! We had to cut the hostas and rhubarb down to the ground but both are going to be OK!
Hi Kathie,
The petticoat really does make the dress stand out nicely! The bonnet is definitely a perfect match for the fabric…just wait till you see it…
I hope your flowers continue to “recover.” And I hope they last long into the Fall to make up for their hardship with the hail.
Blessings, Jeanne
