MY BLOG IS BACK ALL BECAUSE OF SARAH!!!

If you were missing this past weekend, you missed out on a huge problem… I had no blog… LITERALLY, it was wiped out…non-existent. I had no IP Address and idreamofjeannemarie.com was a thing of the past. An update occurred on my blog server’s end, and for some reason my blog didn’t make it in the update, so it was literally wiped clean.

Fast forward to my webmaster and dear friend, Sarah… she rescued me, my blog and you!!! She backed up everything all last night and then had to redesign and put it all back together again today… the background, the fonts, the header, my banner picture, the side bar… all of it… she did it all! Let’s all tell her how much we love her and how thankful we are to all be back together again! I was so thrilled when I got that text from her this afternoon asking if I could check and see if everything looked okay! It did and it seems to be working perfectly! THANKS SO MUCH SARAH!!!

While Sarah was inside working hard at getting my blog back up and running… my hubby and I were working outside scrubbing the green mold off our garage and house. ICK I might add! It was pretty terrible in spots… but the weather was perfect for a job like this… the sun wasn’t shining but it was still bright out, the wind was sort of breezy, but not windy, the weather was in the lower 70’s and it couldn’t have been a more perfect day to do this. Usually we pick the day that’s 95 degrees and 95% humidity it seems… it even rained a little while but we just kept on working… So now my house is sparkly white and prettier than it’s been since winter! :o)

I guess I should have taken an “after” picture, but I was too pooped! The shower needed me more!

I thought I’d share just a couple pictures of my sweet momma and my hubby as they were looking at his Old German Owls on Easter Sunday…

Well, I do have some reader pictures to share and Bailey still has to have her Ebay pictures taken, and since I missed most of the Easter season, I have lots to make up, so I have lots to share soon, but tonight my bed is calling my name, like the shower was earlier!

Thank you all for sticking around and I hope things are better than ever now!

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Hooray for Sarah, for getting your blog back up and running!! Isn’t it wonderful that at least Some people have the tech know-how, to be able to do that sort of thing?! (It certainly isn’t *I*, that’s for sure!!)

I did notice that now , between “Leave a comment” and “Speak your mind”, it says, “Recent comments” and has a link to your previous post! I don’t know if that was intentional or accidental.

So nice to see pictures of your momma! It seems that, physically, at least, she’s holding her own. Since you mentioned having to deal with a lot of her furniture and things, I would assume she’s now in a place where she doesn’t need such things? Well, at least she had that transition time, between her house and the present situation, to be in her apartment with fewer of her things around her, as sometimes going directly from a home to a memory-care unit/nursing home/rehab center/etc. can be pretty traumatic for a person. I hope she is happy and comfortable where she is now.

I’m sure your newly-washed house looks wonderful! We tend to get some mold, mildew, and moss out here, too (I live just north of Seattle, aka “rain city”….). In fact, that’s the secret of our green “lawns”–what isn’t dandelions is moss!! *laugh*

    1. HI Charlotte,
Yes, that Sarah is definitely a wiz! I am SO grateful for her and the excellent work she does for me. I saw that “recent comments” section too and will ask her about it…

My mom is adjusting to her new place…thanks for your comments.

I am glad to be rid of that green moldy stuff. I’ll just take green trees and green grass thank you very much!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Oh, I’m so happy that Sarah did her magic and we are once again a little “blog family”! And I once again am getting two blogs, one at 1a.m., and the other at 5! Don’t I sound selfish, but the 5 am blog is so very teensy, it is hard to read, maybe make that IMPOSSIBLE to read, and must be enlarged. So nice to get something that is able to be read right off the bat!
So you say you and George were scrubbing the mildew off the house and garage? A pressure washer would be faster and easier. We use that to wash off the patio and deck every spring, plus on the siding when needed. In fact, Michael just got a new one this spring after the older one died on us. They really are nice, and maybe George would like one for Father’s Day?

Your momma looks pretty good, I must say, and how sweet of George to show her the German owls! George looks good too!

Good thing you got the outside work in, since it looks like the next couple of days will be rainy, or at least showery!

Well, now the task of putting my Easter things away, and dressing my dolls in something else is coming up, so that’s what I will be doing the next few days!

    1. HI Linda,
I am SO thankful that Sarah made everything work again… if you get 2 posts, I guess that’s okay and get the one is easier to read.
My hubby said he was going to check on a pressure washer, but our house is so old and the siding is so fragile, it will have to have a very low setting or it will break holes in it… but he’s going to check on one at Harbor Freight… :o)
He also LOVES to show off his birds so if anyone seems the slightest bit interested, he’s out there in his coop with them…showing them off.

It has been raining all morning here… probably there too… pretty dreary outside, a bit different than the last couple of days’ we’ve had… I miss the sunshine, but I know we need rain for those flowers and bushes! :o)
      Thanks Linda,
      blessings, Jeanne

This is of course a reminder of why everyone has their own brilliance. I am so glad that Sarah was able to repair the jumble and get your blog straightened out.
I love your German Owls, they are really quite stunning. They look just so sweet too.
Do they live in a fancy little house? I love that. Safe from danger.
The Spring time weather is moody but it is motivating to get some projects done.
I cleaned out the garage yesterday, sorted out and cleaned the winter tools and put them in storage, and vacuumed the whole place (sprayed for bugs) Everything looks perfect. I then got the urge to clean the car interiors x2, so they are rid of the winter sand and debris. THEN I fortified my garden border wall (haha) to keep those bunnies out from eating my seedlings. Every year those buns devour my efforts. Not this year. I feel like Mr McGregor haha.
It is good to get things done. Really, honestly, the list is endless, isn’t it
Happy last few days of April already!! Enjoy. If your home is like Northern Virginia, the little bugs are waking up and next month they will be out and hungry

    1. HI Rosemary,
I was glad Sarah could straighten things out… you should have seen me “trying” to figure out how to do it on a You Tube video… I was “lost-er than lost!”
My hubby’s birds are in 2 different places… some are in the back of the shed and the others are in the coop. I’ve added a link to another post I wrote about them when we first brough them home…

      Old German Owls

WOW! You have been busy and VERY productive getting things ready for the Spring and Summer! Yes, the ladybugs have already been crawling around my windows on the inside, and the wasps are inside too… keeps me busy too!
      Thanks Rosemary,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Wonderful pictures. So glad George could show off his owls. I can see the enjoyment in Momma’s eyes. I agree with Linda; get or rent a power washer. They are wonderful and you won’t have aching bodies the next day. I am hoping to buy one so will share next time you do this project.

    1. HI Gloria,
He’s always thrilled to show off his birds to Anyone… even family! It doesn’t matter to him.
He was just talking to me about getting a power washer but we have to have a sort of mild one with not TOO much pressure… our old siding can’t take it. It’s good exercise anyway… Maybe next time we have to do it, we’ll have something…
      Thanks Gloria,
      Love you, Jeanne

  5. Glad to hear Sarah saved the day. Can’t believe all was wiped.
I use our power washer a lot. You do have to be careful not to remove wanted paint along with the ick though. I really works well on bricks and concrete too.
Wonderful photos of your mother, George, and the German Owl’s. I didn’t realize that they were so tame.
Talk about hot, it was 93 here yesterday. We set a record as the hottest day on the same date since 1946. Looks like today will be warm also, but not like yesterday. Must get out early and water.
Happy to see the blog this morning.

    1. HI Joy,
I just got a call from my blog server and the guy said, “I see you were having some trouble and just wondered, How can I help you?” I told him it was already fixed by a friend… :o) I am so grateful for Sarah’s knowledge of computer and blog stuff. She really is amazing! Monetizing my blog is coming soon! Yay!
The birds are very fun to handle and sweet to pet. :o)
I can’t believe it was 93 there yesterday! That’s really hot!!!

I was happy to see the blog too, this morning! Nothing quite like things functioning as they should!
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. SO glad your blog is back! I was seriously having withdrawal pains! Please tell Sarah how much we appreciate her.
Really glad to see the German owls, I have kept an earlier photo of them and just enjoy them so much, thank you to George and Momma, such a nice feeling from those photos. I would like to see Bailey visiting the owls, but I’m a bird lover. You all are lucky to have so much love around you, give momma an extra little hug.
Bailey’s dress is so cute, love the embroidered flowers and beads on the lace, could she be going somewhere special, maybe a field trip? (Hint hint) You did a wonderful job on her make up. Doesn’t look like your first rodeo! So much to see on your blog really really glad it’s back, again thanks to Sarah, and all the guys and dolls of the JeannieMarie Blog.

    1. HI Dorothy,
Awww… withdrawal pains… you are too sweet! I will most definitely tell Sarah how much we love and appreciate her!
Maybe someday Bailey can visit the birds… my hubby would get a kick out of it.
I was just giving my hubby a haircut and he asked if I had taken pictures of my new doll yet. I told him it was so rainy and dark, the pictures would be horrible today… Then he started thinking of storylines… how she couldn’t get to the tea party because she’d get her hair all wet, how she had new shoes and didn’t want to ruin them, etc… he was being silly!

      Thank you Dorothy,
      I’m glad to be back!!!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. What wonderful pictures of George and Momma and the Owls! Thanks for sharing with us. So glad the Blog is Back! Thanks, Sarah.

This is weird: When I brought up the blog on my iPhone, it showed the blue printing with the title at the top of today’s blog. Later when I brought it up on my laptop, it showed the title in black and the comment section was at the bottom where everyone could see it. Maybe more people will comment and enjoy the interesting ones others post.

    1. HI Susette,
It’s nice to be back to a little bit of normalcy! It was really only offline to you all for one day, but I realized it was messed up on Saturday morning… so I had to agonize about what to do on Easter Sunday, and then Monday Sarah began working on it… and then Tuesday things were back the way they should be… I was never so thankful to see it like it was supposed to be.
If you read the blog from your email, you’ll see the title in blue, but if you click on that title it brings you to my official website of blog posts. I hope everyone knows that…I’ve mentioned it before…
      Thanks Susette,
Was it in the 90’s for you yesterday too?
      Blessings, Jeanne

      1. No 90’s here in Southern California where I live, a few miles back from the ocean, but could be farther inland. Usually 65-70, then high 50s overnight. There are ten climatic zones between the beach and the mountains which are about 80 miles inland. Joy is quite far inland I believe.

        1. I need to get a map and put a pin where everyone lives… that would be a fun thing to see where everyone lives…
          Thanks Susette,
          Blessings, Jeanne

  8. A big THANK YOU to Sarah for getting your blog up and running. It was only a day for us but we were all in panic mode. No question how important your blog is to us.

I guess I assumed that southeast Texas, close to the coast, was the only place that got mold. David was raised in Colorado and Kansas and didn’t have such problems. He said here in southeast Texas everything rots or molds. He put in some fence posts a few years ago and by the time he was ready to put the cross pieces on, the posts were already rotting and he bought treated wood. He gave up and took them all out. I was raised in an area of PA where we didn’t have the mold problem either – or the weed problem we have here. My son’s house has white shingles and he has to clean them regularly or he gets a note from his HOA. So naturally he has a power washer, which I will borrow when I need to clean off mold around here. The exterior of my house is Austin stone, so it doesn’t need painting or cleaning. Thankfully. The windows are another story. Plan on getting to them next week.

It is so good to see your momma up and moving and being able to spend time with her family outside of where she’s living. I’m sure she enjoys it.

I love the birds. Absolutely beautiful!

    1. Thank you Barbara,
I feel so honored that so many of you read my blog and love it so much! I hope you always will!
Mold is pretty prevalent here in Southern Illinois… we have SO much humidity… as soon as the blades of grass hit the siding, it seems to start to mold… it grows quickly and can turn a pretty dark shade of green if you let it go for very long.

My mom loved being outside and seeing the birds was a treat for her. My hubby too!
      Thanks so much Barbara,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. Dear Jeanne, I am so glad your blog is back to normal.
Thanks for sharing a photo of your Mama.
I am looking forward to seeing the photos from the blog family.

    1. HI Dorothy,
I should have created a “welcome back” party blog post… It was off just a short time, but I realized how much I miss it when it’s not there… (at all!) Yikes… I don’t want that to ever happen again.
I’m working on readers pictures and hopefully will have lots to show!
      Thanks so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. Loved the pictures of the owls..what a beautiful bird! A power washer is on my list too. They are wonderful. Gosh your Mom looks good! She sure enjoyed those little critters.
When the computer programs work right it is such a relief…and when they don’t it is soooo frustrating! Glad everything is back to normal!
My little Paola Reina arrived and she has her first dress. Love her little Asian face. I must think of a name for her! She will make a sweet friend to the Little Darlings and even though she is a bit bigger she fit the LD dresses :0)

    1. HI Kathie,
I need an affiliate link to a power washer on Amazon…it’s that time of year when everyone who has mold is debating about getting one…
Your little Paola Reina is just the sweetest thing… I love her looks!!! I bet everyone else will too!
It’s ALWAYS nice when the “girls” can share shoes and clothes and wigs and eyes! I’m glad your girls have a new friend to pal around with.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  11. Just a power washer note. I would steer away from Harbor Freight for any major purchase you want to last awhile. We had a pressure washer from there that didn’t last long at all and leaked terribly. Of course, just past the warranty too. I would try Costco or Home Depot. For simple tools etc. HF is okay, but we have had trouble with just about every big item we’ve purchased there. Not made well. I even had a HF tarp literally shrivel up and develop huge holes after outdoor exposure for less than a month. Other person does like their gloves though. 🙂

    1. Thanks for the heads up on the power washers, Joy. I know some of their stuff is pretty cheaply made, so I’ll be sure and read your comments to my hubby before he decides on one…
      Thanks again..
      Blessings , Jeanne

  12. Welcome back Jeanne! And, kudos to Sarah for recovering everything. Kudos to you and George also for getting the pressure washing done. It’s a job, but so worth it when everything is nice and clean. We did the deck last week, and it looks so much better. I’m going to second Joy’s recommendation about Harbor Freight. Their prices are tempting, but the quality is always a gamble. I love the pictures of George and your mom. So sweet!

    1. Hi Carolyn…okay and that’s makes 2 cautions for Harbor Freight…thanks too!!
I couldn’t get any pictures of how nice our house looked after washing it off…because it’s been raining non stop most of the day…
      Thanks Carolyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne
