It’s amazing how things can change in a day or two. I showed you this picture a few days ago…
…and this morning we woke up to this! It wasn’t terrible, but I wasn’t going to venture out. Fortunately, Rebecca took my Ellowyne doll that sold last night, to the Post Office, on her way to work.
Here’s my gazebo now…
This is our HUGE (but dead) Sassafras tree out by the driveway…
…and this is our pretty Magnolia tree…
Who guessed that “maybe” Patsy Tonner might be the next to get a new dress? When she kept twirling around on my cutting table, after having gotten her legs tightened, (HERE) I just couldn’t refuse her when she asked to be next in line for a new dress…and she was really hoping for a Christmas dress.
You should have seen me trying to find just the right fabric for her… I didn’t have many Christmas-y fabrics with blue/ green in them so I kept trying different colors next to her face and we finally decided “together” that this one would work. Patsy liked it very much and that’s really what matters most. If she likes it she’ll smile more and if she smiles more, she’ll win you over and if she wins you over, you’ll be more likely to buy it for your Patsy… *wink* *wink*
It’s a pretty green and red print made into a simple Christmas dress. I hope to make it more than “simple” when I’m done…
The print is gilded and is nice and festive.
Can you guess what this might be?
Yep, you’re right!
I think it picks up the greenish part of her blue/green eyes.
Let’s hope I can get more done before we meet again…
Have a wonderful Friday! I plan to.
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
How pretty the second pictures and following ones look, Jeanne! I just love to wake up to new fallen snow, provided I don’t have to go out in it! Our paper was buried somewhere in the driveway, so Michael had to shovel a path to go get it. I think we had more than 3 inches, more like 6 or so. It was a pretty morning to look out at as the snow was falling!
So Patsy is next! What a festive print she has for her dress and I love the sparkle of the red ribbon around her waist! The jacket will certainly be needed in weather like this! I am wondering what else is going to be added to this darling outfit, shoes, bow, hat, tights???
HI Linda,
I suppose the warmth of the sun has melted your snow too?
I’m glad you like Patsy”s new dress…she’s thrilled with it! I think the green was a good choice and I had just enough for it!
Thanks Linda,
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh, now I’m jealous of your snow! It looks so beautiful!!
When my dad was still alive (he died 4/29/05), and we had snow, one of us would call the other one and say (no matter What time of year it was), “Merry Christmas, like I always say.” The first time it snowed the winter after he died, I looked out the window at the snow and whispered, “Merry Christmas, Daddy, like I always say”, and cried…..
I do love that fabric that you and Patsy chose; the scale of the print is perfect for her, and the gold does add a festive touch to it. Can’t wait to see what else she gets!!
HI Charlotte,
Our snow was pretty while it lasted. The sun came out and now it’s almost all gone.
Good snow memories for you….
I’m going to see what I can get done this afternoon…let’s hope a lot!!
Thanks Charlotte,
Blessings, Jeanne
I got 5” of beautiful white flakes from the same system that you got yours. The flakes were so like feathers as they fell. Wish I knew how to post the pictures for all to see. Sun is out today so most will disappear.
HI Gloria,
Have Stephanie show you how to send a picture to my email…then I can share it…
Actually I think you must already know how…because you sent me those pics of under your deck…
No one can post on my blog without going through me first…
Thanks Gloria,
Blessings, Jeanne
You got me with the now gazebo photo. Wonderful composition. Such beauty is snow.
I really like little Patsy’s dress fabric. That touch of gold just adds so much. And the special red trim is perfect. Funny me, but when I looked at the what’s it photo, I was stumped and thinking it was a pointy little elf hat?? Jacket is a much better idea. Looking forward to seeing the final presentation.
That fluffy pile of tulle is still sitting around here. Have been waylaid gathering and sending family history information and photos for grandson’s second grade report. Pretty neat that he has three and maybe more Revolutionary War greats, a War of 1812, Mexican War, and two Civil War relatives. Definitely need an organization fairy around here.
Sadly, the Camp Fire death count is now 63 and they have added many many more to the missing list. Hopefully, some are camping their cars and haven’t checked in. Air quality has slightly improved around here, but south in the bay area, schools are closed again today.
Keep warm.
HI Joy,
I’m glad you like Patsy’s dress. I hope I can get some more done on her set this afternoon…my morning was full of errands.
You’ll get that slip done one of these days…and don’t fret if you don’t…
The news still starts off every night with the fires in CA as the lead story. It’s so sad…
I bet your little grandson has no idea how neat it is to have the relatives he has!!
Thanks Joy,
Blessings, Jeanne
Dear Jeanne, Patsy looks adorable. She is wearing the perfect outfit to usher in Christmas.
Thanks for sharing the gazebo photos (before and after). We got snow also but it looks like the roads are clear now.
I love that Joy comes from folks who helped to shape the country. What a feeling of pride! I think that knowing one’s people gives us a sense of being rooted.
Thank you Dorothy,
Patsy likes her new legs so much…she stood up all night!! Thank you for your compliments on her Christmas dress…
Our snow is almost all gone…the sun has been melting it away pretty quickly.
Thanks Dorothy,
Blessings, Jeanne
You took such beautiful snow pictures. Ours is mostly gone — until tonight. Christmas returns tomorrow, but fall seems to be returning for Thanksgiving.
What a nice Christmas dress — I’m hoping for a couple more before the season is over. They keep everything cheerful.
HI Marilyn,
Our snow has all melted except in a few shady spots that didn’t get as much sun. It will be nice having better weather at least through Thanksgiving… there’s too many trips that need to be made and decent weather really helps.
I’m glad you like Patsy’s dress…just wait till you see it tomorrow! It’s all done! And she’s pretty proud of herself modeling it!
I’m hoping for a couple more too!!!
Thanks Marilyn,
Blessings, Jeanne
Absolutely beautiful ensemble. I am a fabriholic, as you would know if you could see my sewing room, so there’s rarely a piece of fabric I don’t love. I especially love Patsy’s dress fabric. Makes me want to get started on Christmas outfits. At present I’m still working on fall/winter things. My kids looked so cold in their summer attire, which is all most of them have.
Wish we got snow more often here, especially now that I’m retired. I have lived here since 1969 and I can say that the past few years our area (near Houston) has been getting snow more often. A few years ago they had a foot of snow for Christmas in Victoria, TX. Sometimes the areas around me will get snow, but not the town I live in, which is really weird. Snow less than a mile away but not here.
