I know how much you all like pictures of the dolls taken outside, so I’m including a few that I took of my Essential Ellowyne with green eyes. Oh, my heart skipped a beat or two when I saw what my pictures looked like on my computer… “You HAVE to sell her, Jeanne! You HAVE to sell her Jeanne!” That was playing in my mind as I wrote up my listing for her. It was painful, I have to admit, but she’s been standing on my dolly shelf watching all the other girls get dresses made. Except I never picked her…not in probably a year and a half. I’m sure someone can enjoy her more than I am. I’m not being a very good mom to her! But here are those pictures that caused me to push the “pause” button for about 5 minutes!
she loves her new slip and this is one thing I made for her that she’ll get to keep and look beautiful in as she travels to her new home.
I know they are all just head shots, but they’ll be the last ones I take of her so I wanted to make it up to her and “pretend” she’s modeling for me and will be back on the dolly shelf to wait her next turn… Gulp…gulp…
If you want to see the listing on Ebay, you can click on the picture at the right side bar or you can click HERE.
I was getting her ready for the listing Friday, and really didn’t have much time for anything else, so I’ll leave you on this COLD COLD Saturday with a picture that I think will bring a smile to your face… it’s of “The Wild Bunch” and they reside in California with Joy…
Take a minute and click on the picture to enlarge it and see all the little details. It’s sure to give you a Saturday Smile! It did me!
The ladies from our church decided to have a Ladies Day Out Saturday and we are going to a nearby town for coffee, shopping, lunch, more shopping, and a nearby Junior College is having their annual AutumnFest Arts and Crafts Sale, so we’re tagging it onto our day. We might freeze…it’s supposed to be in the low 20’s tomorrow with the wind chill in the teens… I’ve got to go upstairs and bring down some winter clothes…
I hope you have a warm Saturday!
I’ll see you Monday,
Blessings, Jeanne
Those pictures of Ellowyne turned out really lovely, taken in the sunlight! I know, it’s really hard to part with some of those dollis sometimes, but I’m sure whoever gets her will give her a good home!
What a cute picture from Joy! I think that little boy on the far left is my favorite–he’s just adorable!!
Have fun on your Ladies Day Out! Dress in layers–you’ll be going in and out of buildings, so that’s the best way to stay comfortable, I’ve found (having attended Sewing Expo in Puyallup, WA, for about 20 years now, and there’s a lot of in and out at that, too!).
Thanks Charlotte,
I’m glad you enjoyed seeing the outside pics today! And thanks too for the note about the link not working… I wouldn’t have caught that. It took forever to fix as it’s all in html code and not easy to decipher.
We did have fun today…and it wasn’t that cold either… in the 30’s but seemed warmer…
Thanks again,
Blessings, Jeanne
P. S. Sorry, Jeanne, there’s no link on the picture of the green-eyed Ellowyne; I had to click on the word “here” in the text instead.
Oh, another beautiful Ellowyne! I had no idea you had two of them, Jeanne! She is lovely, and I love her green eyes! Someone else must too, since she has two bids already! Gook luck with both of those beautiful dolls!
Joy’s dolls are the cutest little things! They look just like a group of regular children, and I know, since I taught school many moons ago! The way she has arranged those dolls tells us something about Joy too! I think she has a wonderful sense of humor and joy (hey, her name fits!) and what it was to be a child. I can see myself as the cute little redhead, (although I don’t have red hair), sitting there all prim and proper! I never was a tomboy, and loved being a little girl and wearing pretty dresses and playing with my dolls.
Oh, my gosh, you are going out running around today? After I saw the forecast, I decided to do my shopping yesterday and stay in today! What more can I say, but dress warmly and have fun!
P.S. I have the same issue as Joy does with the listing for the Ellowyne doll.
HI Linda,
When I saw those outside pictures of the second Ellowyne, it was hard to let her go… but someone else will love her more! I’m sure of it! She really is a beautiful doll. .. one of my favorite versions that Robert Tonner ever designed. If I had to sew for “fashion” dolls, I’d probably pick Ellowyne… she is just so pretty when she’s posed the right way.
Yes, Joy does have a good sense of humor and it DOES show up in her pictures. She searches for little props about like I do! :o)
It actually wasn’t too bad out today! It was only in the 30’s but somehow it didn’t seem that cold. We walked the streets but as long as we stayed on the sunny side of the street it wasn’t too bad. We DID have fun! I took some pictures so I’ll share them if they turned out okay.
I fixed the link on the picture… it was a pain and I thought I’d never get it, but finally….
Thanks Linda,
Blessings, Jeanne
Love the outdoor photos of Ellowyne with a glimpse of the barn and the trees without leaves. Tell El to put on a coat. 🙂
My Meadow kids are quite entertaining to say the least. Here, I’ll name them for you. Sitting are the newest additions: L to R Nicco and his twin sister Niccolina aka Nikki and shy Tansy. Maddie is giving Mr. Pony a carrot to keep him still and Tella is trying to braid his tail. Up top is Navi who really wanted to be Lady Godiva, but I enticed her to put on some clothes, and Romy who thinks she is a bareback rider. She is wearing one or two of Jeanne’s slips. They are both quite into purple, and want to be sure everyone notices that they are wearing purple shoes. Why purple? Don’t know. Must be a dolly thing.
Haven’t checked the fire report yet this morning, but yesterday, I think it was over 80,000 acres burned. They are still finding fire victims. So many couldn’t get out. We’re lucky that all we are getting is the heavy smoke from the fires. Everyone is wearing masks. Probably will take a couple more days for the air quality to improve. It has been the worst ever.
Joy, you MUST come to Lititz!!! Come in the Spring when the weather is nice. It’s near Hershey and Lancaster (Amish country). We have a dolly community here. You will feel right at home.
OH Joy,
I feel so badly for the people in your area… how tragic this is… I just can’t imagine being near something like that.
I think Linda was right when she said “Joy has quite a sense of humor…” you DO! I loved the picture and so glad you shared it with us! There are so many things to look at! I LOVED your explanation of everything too…right down to Navi wanting to be Lady Godiva!
I’m wondering how many topples did you have when you were setting it up? Several?
Thanks for brightening our Saturday!
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh yes, we had several topples! In fact, I was thinking of giving up, but really wanted a photo. Mr. Pony fell over dropping Navi, caught her, and tossing poor Romy through the deck rails to the unknown below. She left her purple shoes and wig behind as she fell. As I picked through the brush below with eyes peeled, I spotted a bit of pink fluff literally hanging from a blackberry vine. It was Romy. Scared but safe. I had to detach her skirt from the prickles but was very happy she sustained no damage. Everyone else cooperated quite well. 🙂
Dear Jeanne, I love Joy’s photos! The children are adorable.
I am sure you will have big fun with the ladies today. I can’t wait to see what finds you make while shopping.
Happy Saturday!
HI Dorothy,
Yes, the picture from Joy certainly is entertaining, isn’t it? I just love how they are all posed and a reason from Joy behind everyone’s placement in the picture!
I didn’t find much…bought a bag of kettle corn at the Arts and Crafts fair… but it was still fun and several ladies in the group found things…
Thanks Dorothy,
Blessings, Jeanne
Joy, your dolls are darling. They sure do have personalities. You have certainly mastered photographing them. What a great collection not only of dolls but accessories as well. Thanks for sharing the wonderful picture. The boy doll is so cute, too.
The fires are terrible. I can’t believe the extent of them. So sorry for everyone involved. Hope you avoid having them come close to you this year, Joy.
Ellowyne is a beautiful doll. Hope lots of people think so too.
HI Susette,
I think Joy’s “personality” comes through in each doll she photographs! I love that picture too… people that don’t “play” with dolls miss out on so much! I agree Nicco is a cute little guy!
Yes, Ellowyne dolls are beautiful dolls. I hardly ever see one that’s not pretty! They are very addicting too… I can’t believe you just have the one! I had 3 but I’m keeping my favorite… she was my best model.
Thanks Susette,
Blessings, Jeanne
I’m sure you already know, but your current auction photo is no longer showing up at all. I took a look at the other Ellowyne and then clicked on other things for sale and viewed it that way. Getting bids on both. Great!
HI Joy,
Thanks, but it’s fixed now… I wasn’t able to fix it while I was out today, but when I got home I worked on it and it was a royal pain… an HTML issue and the code is hard to figure out… every little ” and < has to be in the exact space it's supposed to be... I finally got it fixed. Now you can click on it ALL you like! :o) Blessings, Jeanne
