Okay, now it’s MY turn… Part 1 of my 2017 Doll Dresses…

I am so happy you all enjoyed yesterdays Holly Dolly Fashion Show presentation of YOUR Christmas dresses! (HERE) We truly did have a variety of dolls, didn’t we, and wasn’t it fun to see everyone’s talent? (Picture taking, dress making, prop setup, etc) I looked at the pictures several times yesterday and saw something new each time I looked! :o) Thank you so much… now start working on your 2018 dresses!

As I looked at the dresses, I wondered just how many dresses I had made this year… I really had no clue as the last few months of this year were sort of haphazard for me…So I took out my 2017 notebook and started going through it… listing all the dresses and who bought them and what they sold for… I’m doing a little double duty work, as I always bless my top 3 ($$) buyers. I know WHO they are and will make them something to say thank you in a small way!

Okay, so back to my dresses… I only made 27 dresses in 2017… that might be a record low… I started the year out nicely and had made 17 by May, but then it sort of dwindled down each month after that… BUT, anyway, I have 27 dresses to show you and will do half today and half tomorrow… I’ve got to spread them out so I can get some of my Christmas done around here… My brother is coming tomorrow to take my mom home with him for Christmas. I’ll give him his Cool Spoons in a Box present before he heads home. After he leaves, I have GOT TO TURN THINGS UP and get going in high gear! :o)

(If you click on the pictures they will enlarge.)

The first dress of 2017 was “Winter Garden,” modeled by Felicity.

Nyssa got to model the last dress in January…

Molly was next in “Pink Perfection.”

Molly, an American Girl doll

It was still February and cold when I did “Springtime in the South.” Rebecca was my very beautiful model for this set…

Noel joined me in February and this was her debut dress… “Sweet and Petite!”

Noel, a 10″ Boneka/Effner doll

Isabelle was the sixth doll to model for me in 2017. She looked stunning in a red and pink dress I called “Pretty as a Picture.”

Eden started us out in March in an Easter dress called “Easter Charm.”

I did a sister set next… one for Janie and one for Noel… in blue and so adorable. I called it “Sisters in Blue.”

It’s almost Easter now and Patsy is “egging” it on, in a sweet set called, “Come on, Easter!”

Willa was next in a dress called “Easter Surprise.”

We’re still in April and Rebecca got to model a very pretty Easter dress called “Timeless in Turquoise.” It was a favorite of mine! I thought she looked so pretty in this color! (even though my camera had a hard time capturing the actual color of it…)

Ten Ping and Noel modeled together in this next dress set. I called it “Spring Fever” for both girls. Talk about dainty looking… it sure did! :o)

I hope you enjoyed seeing my dresses for the first half of 2017… and hope you’ll come back tomorrow to see the rest of them…

Blessings, Jeanne

  1. The number of dresses may be limited, but the variety is impressive. I sometimes forget how many different kinds of dolls you have. I especially liked Nyssa in her red dress. I’m looking forward to tomorrow already.

    1. Thank you Marilyn,
It helps when I don’t think I’ve made that much, to see them all at one time. I’m pleased with how many I actually did get finished…AND they all sold! That’s a huge blessing in itself!
      I like Nyssa’s dress too…so feminine isn’t it?
      Thank you Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. I’m also looking forward to tomorrow’s blog! I am constantly in awe of how varied and adorable the dresses are that you make, Jeanne! You certainly do give each dress the perfect touch to make it one of a kind!

    1. Thank you Linda,
I really do believe the Lord gives me creative ideas for my doll dresses. I think “I” would have run out of ideas a long time ago. I was looking at my fabrics as I was cleaning in my sewing room and was wondering who was going to start off 2018!!!
      Thank you, Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    Such fun to look back!

Well, of course, I like Ten Ping’s little pink dress, because that’s the one I own! But of the others, my favorite is Willa’s purple dress. I just love that fabric (my favorite color!) and the simplicity of the style–feminine but without being “fussy”, if you know what I mean. Some dolls look good in “fussy” outfits, but this one suits Willa to a T!

The special extra detail I like best is the little blue capes on the sisters outfits.

    1. Thank you Charlotte,
I’m glad you are enjoying Ten Ping’s sweet little dress and pantalettes set. I loved those pantalettes when I made them… :o)
I was pretty proud of the pattern I drafted for the capelets too…
      Thank you very much, Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. New this year, I think: Beautiful hats made by Jeanne and capes, different styles for different dolls. That’s my favorite Felicity outfit. Lucky winner. So nice to see half of your 2017 style show. Looking forward to tomorrow.

    1. Hi Susette,
I’m so glad you mentioned the “splitting up” the dress pictures into several posts, in the comment you left yesterday or the day before.
One smart cookie you are…and I took your advice on MY dresses.
Thank you for your sweet compliments!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. It was nice to see the outfits again. Some I had forgotten about, mainly the smaller dolls because I don’t have them. Each outfit is adorable. Your sewing and styles, beautiful.

Boy was Ten Ping’s face orangish. So glad you had her repainted.
Can’t wait to see the last half of the year’s outfits. Thank you.

    1. Hi Paula,
Thank you for the sweet comments on my dresses!! I appreciate them.
When I saw Ten Ping’s face, I thought the exact same thing…boy is that orange!!! I’m SO glad I had her repainted too!
      Thank you Paula,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. I loved Winter Garden when you first made it and I love it still today. All the dresses are beautiful, of course, but that is my favorite of this first group. I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s show too.
Hope you have a good day.
    Take care –

    1. Thanks Charlotte,
Winter Garden must have been made almost one year ago…I’ll have to look up the date it was listed. I’m so glad it was liked by so many.
I hope you have a favorite in tomorrow’s slide show.
      Thank you Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Loved seeing all of the dresses, but Noel and Ten Ping are just the cutest little things in their outfits. I especially liked the sisters all dressed up too.
Still need to pick up a Costco pumpkin pie, and wrap those gifts for the grand kiddies. I finally put up our only decoration in the middle of the dining table. A cute vintage fire truck pulling a decorated house trailer with lights.
On to more fine dresses tomorrow.

    1. Thanks Joy,
I know you like the “Liddles” the best…I never asked…do you have any larger dolls, like AG? I have forgotten…
I actually “started” my shopping today after my brother picked up my mom. I did pretty well too…bought some groceries for Christmas Day and sort of have a plan for the next few days!!! YAY! I’m feeling okay about being behind…stressing out wasn’t going to get me anywhere, do I decided to skip it!
Thanks Joy…your centerpiece sounds adorable…take a picture of it for me?
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Jeanne, Your girls are just darling! I joined your blog family at the end of the year so I missed seeing some of the dresses. They are all lovely. I think my favorite is Holly in “Sweet and Petite!” What a cutie she is.

    1. Hi Dorothy,
I’m glad you joined in on the fun we have around here. That’s actually Noel modeling the little Blue dress. I haven’t made a dress for Holly to debut yet, but I will…
Rhanks for joining in Dorothy, I love having you in the group.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  9. My how quickly the year passed! Thanks for recapping your year of sewing for us. I think my favorite is Eden’s Easter Charm. I like the bodice treatment, and I always like a white collar on that style of dress. Felicity’s green and purple outfit is a close second for me. Both of these outfits have some special accessories too. I may not be online much tomorrow but I’ll catch up when I can.

    1. Hi Carolyn,
I’m glad you liked Edens Easter dress. I worked really hard to make that one as cute as possible.
Did you resend your Holiday Fashions picture yet? I was watching for something from you.
      Thank you, Carolyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. I loved seeing everyone’s dolls all dolled up yesterday. I was fun to see what type of doll each person gravitates toward.
Yes, jeanne, you may not have made as many dresses as in other years, but you do sew for a wide variety of dolls and each dress is very unique and has a number of intricate details.
Naturally, I love Felicity’s dress. She looks gorgeous in it.
“Springtime in the South” is one I would obviously recognize as you were kind enough to use my suggested name for it and well as Rebecca turquoise dress that you like my storyline for. I so enjoy that along with watching you make the dresses that “we” get to make suggestions and have some small contribution. That you for that!
Eden’s dress is so sweet and the bonnet is just darling.
Looking forward to seeing the rest tomorrow.

    1. Thank you, Laura,
Just as I knew Charlotte would like Willa’s purple dress and Joy would like my smaller dolls, I knew Felicity’s dress set would be your favorite. Thanks so much for your sweet compliments on the dresses I made this year.

It’s always my pleasure to accept help from my readers…whether it be a storyline or a title, I appreciate everyone’s input.
      Thank you so much, Laura,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  11. Hi Jeanne,
Happy Friday! What a wonderful surprise… you know how I love looking at dolly dresses! I can hardly wait for the next post. It must be so satisfying to look back at all you created in 2017 and know what joy you brought to the people who won those beautiful outfits. Thank you for sharing.
    Hugs
    Ingrid

    1. Hi Ingrid,
It is pretty gratifying to see a whole years (well, half a years) work all in one post. I see some people on Ebay who seem to get dresses listed every 2 days or so, and I’d love to be able to do that, but my life and family just won’t let that happen…as much as I’d like for it to, it just doesn’t work that way for me.
      Thank you so much, Ingrid,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  12. There is no way I can pick a favorite from your dresses in those pictures. You just have to feel good to look back on all those darling dresses. The last part of the year may not have been as prolific but you always do a great job. Hope you have time to get everything you want done before Christmas.
I’m flying through gift wrap today…whew!

    1. Hi Kathie,
Thank you for your kind comments… I’m so thankful for your friendship, Kathie…
I made some headway on my Christmas shopping today. I even did some wrapping too!!! I bet you’re way ahead of me, though.
      Thank you, Kathie,
      Blessings, Jeanne
