A blessed Easter to all the sofa sisters!! We have a carry-in brunch before church tomorrow morning. My egg casserole is all made and in the fridge, waiting to be popped into the oven. I’m off to bed now!

Happy Easter Jeanne and all the sofa sisters. We are taking a break from holiday cooking as my daughter has to work (shame on businesses that our open on Easter) and my health is not allowing me to do the event as usually. So we voted and we are ordering Chinese but having our traditional Easter desserts.

I totally agree, I don’t think that stores should be open on Thanksgiving or Easter. I don’t think any stores are open Christmas but there maybe some. It is terrible to have folks miss those wonderful family times.

Sandra — Chinese take-out sounds lovely. Maybe next year I’ll be healthy enough to make my Russian Easter bread and cheese — and be able to be around enough people to eat it.

He is Risen indeed. Had a lovely time yesterday, we had a combined service with the church we share space with. Their building is now finished and it is a lovely space. They also had two dedications so that was interesting, we haven’t had any babies in church for years! Afterwards went to coffee with some friends to celebrate my friend Kay’s birthday.
To those who were concerned about the dog in my story yesterday, yes she survived, by the time we managed to get her home my husband had calmed down. He wouldn’t have hit her with the 4×2 he had in his hand (at least I don’t think he would) but she wasn’t waiting to find out. And yes, the party continued and we had a good time. I must try to find the photo of the 4 generations we took that day. Dad’s Aunt, Dad, me and Russell.
