I was trying to think of a name for Navi’s pet turtle and guess what? Laura thought of one… and she didn’t even realize it! I read her comment and there it was… “Timmy the turtle” and that was just what I needed. He DOES look like a Timmy, don’t you think?
Anyway, I finished the set and wanted to show you some pictures of it. A few ladies mentioned how small Navi is and I thought I’d show you a few comparisons…
Here is Navi’s top in my hand…
…and then I took a pin and pinned it to the front of Chrissa so you could see the difference in size! Yep, that’s quite a big difference…
Here are her pantaloons again… only this time she’s standing up and actually modeling them for you…
…oops…AND sitting down modeling…
I know they are a bit goofy looking and not very professional AT ALL, but I’m still going to include the little green shoes… somehow I think they add to the whimsicality of this set…
Timmy came out of her pocket and wanted to make his debut a little better than just being seen on that piece of fabric…
Navi really likes Timmy…
He fits perfectly in Navi’s pocket but he spent most of our photo session OUT of the pocket…
I made a green wool felt hat and this was my last scrap of this color green, and I’m not entirely sold on it… it’s oversized and the brim might be a bit TOO big, so I might have to find something else… although I’ll see what you all think…the color matches perfectly but the idea of picking stitches out of the felt to redo it does not seem very exciting…
I think Navi is a bit mesmerized by Timmy…
When Timmy isn’t in her pocket, Navi’s hand IS!
Okay, Timmy, it’s time to get back in Navi’s pocket…
Well that’s it for your Saturday viewing pleasure… I hope you like it…
See you Monday,
Blessings, Jeanne
The hat is perfect!
Thanks Joy,

What an adorable outfit!! I just love every bit of it, and am sitting here, wishing I had a Navi so I could bid on it!! The shoes are so cute, and I love the hat–it’s perfect! I think the whole outfit is kind of whimsical, so the hat and the shoes just work with it beautifully! I don’t think I’d change a thing! And Timmy is as cute as can be.
Thank you Charlotte,
Well wonderful! I’m glad you like everything about it!! That makes my day!!
I wish everyone could own a little Twinkle doll like Navi!!
Blessings, Jeanne
Count me in as another who thinks the hat is perfect! I was trying to envision it with a smaller brim, and it just seemed too “run of the mill” looking. It truly looks so whimical and those darling shoes give it extra appeal! From the top of her hat to the tip of her shoes, this is just perfect!
That little Timmy picked the perfect little friend to stick around with! His pocket is just adorable and the perfect place for him! He must think he is living in a strawberry patch with someone who loves him so! Somebody else’s Navi is going to love this outfit! What other dolls would be able to wear this?
We had a pretty day yesterday, but I think it was warmer here, more like in the 50’s, so I got to work outside. Things are looking up and I am seeing the tips of iris, lilies and tulips coming up! Spring can’t be far off, and DST time starts next weekend!
Thank you Linda,
Oh I’m so happy everyone likes it all! I really did but wasn’t sure it was just me…
I believe any of the Chibbi dolls, like Poppy, would fit into this. Poppy and Navi had the same size upper body, but Poppy’s legs were a bit longer so the pantaloons would hit the Chibbi dolls about mid calf, I think. Since the hat is oversized. It would work too…and they had the same size feet…so those green shoes will even work.
Today is a pretty day but cooler..
Thanks, Jeanne
she looks like she’s ‘pouring her heart out’ to Timmy Turtle! such a sad look on her face!
Hi Mary,
Those close up pics do show her face looking a bit sad… but Timmy makes her happy on the inside!
Thanks Mary,
Blessings, Jeanne
Timmy the turtle is totes adorbs! Where ever do you find such a teeny tiny thing? Is there a web site? http://www.teenytinythings.com ?
That little outfit is so bright and cheerful! Cute cute cute!
Hi Julia,
Rebecca got those at a yard sale years and years ago…they are hand made…
I’m sure if you googled tiny clay animals you might find something…
Thanks so much,
Blessings, Jeanne
Hi Julia,
Those little turtles are part of fairy garden supplies. I have one like it that I got from our local craft store before it closed. Michaels has a lot of fairy things and there are many sellers on Etsy.
The Twinkles here all agree that the outfit is perfect! So cute with the pocket details too. The hat is very sweet. I certainly wouldn’t change it as each Twinkle has a different wig which changes the head size. I like the look. The shoes remind me of gardening clogs so they go with the outfit as well, and Timmy the turtle hiding in Navi’s pocket is an adorable idea. I bet Navi can’t wait to get outside and look for “real” strawberries. Being outside in the garden right now is exciting. 🙂
Hope your weekend is grand.
Hi Joy,
Oh good…”gardening clogs” are what I’ll call them! I’m glad you like it all too. I wish your Fabbi could try it on to see how it looks…it should fit…just the pantaloons will be shorter on her legs.
I plan on having a good weekend…hope yu do too!
Blessings, Jeanne
The hat size is perfect for this darling little doll. It’s a perfect outfit to fit her personality. Love the little turtle. Good for Rebecca!
Thank you Susette!

Just adorable. Can’t wait to see if Navi got shoes to match Timmy or if while working in the garden Timmy adopted the “ shoes” as playmates and followed her/them everywhere! LOL Sort of a which came first, the chicken or the egg. Speaking of chickens how are the peeps doing now. I’m sure they’re back in the coop. I’m just fascinated by the German owls, and the other variety of birds your hubby raises. Life at your house is always happening.
Seriously, Where DO you find things for the dolly toybox?
Thank you Dorothy,
I had fun with this one and will have fun taking a few outside pictures!
The young hens are all starting to lay eggs now…my hubby changed around his outdoor pen area and they love to run around and chase each other.
I find things everywhere I go…I’m always on the hunt… :o)
Thanks Dorothy,
Blessings, Jeanne
I agree with everyone else. The whole outfit set is perfect! So sweet and playful with Navi’s shoes and hat. Love the strawberry print. Those photos of Navi and Timmy the Turtle are adorable. Great name, Laura..
Some little Navi out there is going to love this outfit.
I had a pet turtle when I was young- Toodles the Turtle. Brings back memories. We had a good size oval plastic container with a little island of palm trees for him to sun on.
Hi Paula
I remember having little turtle when we were little…and we had that little palm tree in our set up too! I don’t think you can buy pet turtles anymore.
I’m glad everyone who left comments today liked Navi’s set…I can breathe a sigh of relief that nothing needs to be changed!! Yay!!
Blessings, Jeanne
I too had a turtle in the plastic bowl. Actually, several over time. Wasn’t nearly as much fun as it was when my parents allowed me to adopt my pup Penny. 🙂
Count me in as another here who had he of those tiny turtles that lived in a plastic dish with a palm tree! We got ours at the dime store, but they had to quit selling them because it was found they carried some sort of disease.
However, we also had a regular box turtle that lived in our basement and must have had his fill of bugs, since we never seemed to feed him. His name was Timothy too! Actually, the more I think of it, everyone seemed to have a turtle living in the basement!
Hi Linda,
We probably got ours at a dime store too…they used to be SO popular…
We once found a huge turtle in the yard and told our bus drive abut it… we gave it to him in a big tub…he told us he made turtle soup from it! :o(
What a cute, cute outfit. It does look very whimsical and with Navi’s size, is just perfect.
Wow, since Timmy is just her size(glad you liked the name), that means she could probably use fairy garden supplies. I have a set of little tools I bought before our craft store closed and all the stuff was on deep sale. The fairy garden items are really addictive, especially when they were 75% off.
Hi Laura,
Navi is tiny enough to use some of those little garden thins you see…I might have to look through my stuff and see what I have…
Thanks so much Laura,
Blessings, Jeanne
I agree with everyone else — the outfit is just right the way it is and the gardening theme is just right for right now as everyone (but Anne) is thinking about gardening (while NZ is already wonderfully green).
The hat is right and Joy’s comment on various sized heads is well taken. The idea that Timmy followed the shoes is a nice one.
I think you have another winner here.
Hi Marilyn,
Thanks for your comments today too. I’m glad I have 100% agreement on Navi’s set…yay…now I can get it listed…hopefully…
I used to have a little rake and hoe or shovel set…I’ll have to look for it…
What would I do without all you guys and your ideas?????
Thanks Marilyn,
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh, please leave the hat. My first reaction when I saw it was that it was so perfect and definitely added to the whimsey of the adorable outfit. Timmy is the cutest turtle and it’s so good he’s found his forever home in Navi’s pocket. Garden clogs. What a perfect name for the shoes. Sadly I don’t have a Twinkle, but I may have to start adopting some if I’m going to continue collecting. I’m totally running out of room for dollies and dolly stuff.
So glad all is well with Anne in New Zealand. It takes so long to recover from a natural disaster that you don’t need another one – ever.
I finished Hanna’s Easter dress. Actually I started it late yesterday afternoon and finished it up first thing this morning. It is totally adorable and turned out exactly as I pictured it. It’s always a good thing when that happens. I have sometimes had “what was I thinking” experiences. I’m ready to cut out Sara’s Easter dress. Then Stella is next but we’re still discussing what fabric to use. We thought we had the perfect fabric but there isn’t enough for the pattern and she said she’d rather change fabric and stick with the pattern so we’re back to the fabric cabinet(s).
Hi Barbara,
I just love little Navi. My favorite thing is how poseable she is.. you can use about pose her any way you want.
I’m glad Hannah’s dress for Easter is finished…I’m sure you got a big hug!! :o)
Sometimes I can spend as much time deciding on what fabric to use as the time it takes me to make something…and I’m not kidding… :o)
Thanks Barbara,
Blessings, Jeanne
I love the outfit just as it is. When you said you thought the hat was too big I was surprised as I thought it was just right. I wouldn’t change a thing.
We didn’t have a turtle but we did have a tortoise who lived in the garden I don’t know where he came from but we had him for years.
You are right Barbara, it does take years to get over a natural disaster, they reckon Christchurch is the safest city in NZ now!!! The very unsafe buildings have gone, the not so bad ones have to be strengthened and can’t be used till they have been and the new buildings have been built to a very high earthquake standard. However it is amazing how much it affected the young children of around Ashley’s age. She was still ‘in utero’ when we had the first one in Sep 2010, then 8 weeks old in the Feb 2011 one and of course we had quakes all that year and a bit beyond. There was a research group who had done a big study, in Christchurch in 2007 on 5-7 yr olds in school. In 2017 teachers were reporting that many children in that age group were having difficulties so these same people went back and because they had the 2007 study to go by they were able to make comparisons. These were the children who were thought to be the least affected because they were so young, some not even born, but they found that that wasn’t the case at all. The very worst affected were ‘runners’ and that was Ashley. From the time she could walk she became an escape artist. I can’t tell you how many times she was brought back home by the police! They have a 6ft fence around the back, on one occasion (she would have been around 3 or 4) she found a toy to stand on, climbed on to the bbq, over the fence to next doors garage managed to find something to climb down there and then took off! At school she couldn’t be kept in the classroom and I mean not at all. We have umpteen stories about her exploits and were very lucky (or her guardian angel was working overtime) that she never had anything serious happen to her. Then suddenly, at the beginning of the 2018 school year she suddenly changed, stayed in the classroom and started working hard. However she still is very clingy to her Mum and suffers from anxiety a lot, especially since both Mum and Dad have been dealing with life threatening illnesses. It has been a lot for a 10 yr old to deal with and she has been having counselling.
Better go, have to be ready in 20 mins to leave for church
I found the study on the children very interesting. We convey so much to our children through emotion even when we don’t think we are. It looks like the fight or flight instinct definitely prevailed because fleeing was what a lot of people were doing during that time. And I think a lot of children feared being separated from a parent as well as for some life was nothing like it was the day before. My stepson was adopted at four months by my husband and former wife. We got custody of him at seven because his mom felt she couldn’t handle him. During his early teen years we were having a lot of trouble with him and at the recommendation of the priest at our church, he went to live at a faith-based boys ranch for a year. One of the things the people who ran it discovered was that the boys had something in common. Nearly all of them were put up for adoption at birth. They suffered from separation anxiety and could not seem to bond with their adoptive parents or caretakers or trust them so they were very difficult to discipline. My stepson is 45 and he still has a lot of problem with relationships. My heart goes out to Ashley. She’s had so much to deal with being so young. But it seems she’s a strong little girl and will be okay. And she’s blessed with having you for a grandmother.
Hi Anne,
Well, join the ones of us who had turtles years ago. I don’t know if we had just the one or more than one…
My goodness, what stories you have…
Thank for sharing…
Blessings, Jeanne
Dear Jeanne, what an adorable outfit. Timmy is so sweet.
I think that if Timmy goes to the new owner, you are going to have to find another turtle for Navi. Maybe she would like a teddy bear to hold instead.
Hi Dorothy,
I do have a few more turtles and frogs…but maybe a teddy bear would be nice for her.
Thank you for liking her outfit…
Blessings, Jeanne
I love the hat as is! I love the shoes too, the big buttons look like frog or turtle eyes. The whole outfit is just darling! I best not let Tella see it…
Hi Melody,
Oh…what harm could it do to just let Tella “see” it? *wink* *wink*
Blessings, Jeanne
