Today is going to be another question…

I had a busy day today, getting ready for a birthday party tonight. I made a strawberry salad and my corn casserole. (I can make other things…) Actually, I’m just telling you this to see if my blog post will go through today. Just as I was leaving the house for the party, Blue Host texted me and asked me to change my password. They gave me a code and said I had 10 minutes to do this. We got in the car and then Sarah called me and asked if I could talk about a few things… she was on the phone with Blue Host… I tried punching in what she said and hoped my hubby didn’t hit any bumps and make me mess up.

When we got back home, I checked out my website and it was totally different. Quite a few things have changed and I absolutely have no idea what to expect. The format for writing is totally different on my end… I’m not familiar with it at all, but I’ll see what I can do… I just have one big square with a blue line around it and I can type in it… If I try to go to another paragraph, is switches to a new box. Well, I just discovered there is NO place for me to add pictures AT ALL… not a tab, not a button, nothing… There is nothing on my page that shows my banner at the top, nothing at the right side bar showing my auctions from Ebay and nothing at the left for me to navigate the comments or dashboard… this might be interesting. You might get this or you might not… There is no button to schedule a post, just a Publish button, but if I hit the button now, I will have 2 posts on June 3rd… but I have no choice, unless I want to stay up till midnight just to see… hmmm

So I’ll just ask a question and we’ll see what happens.

Look at your dressed up dolls right now and tell me what is your favorite outfit one of them is wearing… describe it for us if you will.

Well, we’ll see how this goes… it looks like a website that is “being” set up, but not completed… hmmm… I don’t like change at all, so you can guess how I’m feeling about now.

Hope to see you tomorrow, if not hang on and we’ll keep working on this.

Blessings, Jeanne

Well, I found a Save draft button and when I clicked on it, it let me view the post. I looks like my regular blog post page… there might be hope… :o)

Sorry about all the added notes. I decided to hit the Publish button and when I did, it let me pick a time when I wanted to schedule it. So, I think you will get something tomorrow… but no pictures, until I can figure out where to upload them…

I’m going to bed… Night!

Jeanne, I know you will be anxious to see if we see anything different with the blog today, but no, I don’t! Everythng is the same as it always was, at least on my end. I clicked onto yesterday’s post, since it is not yet 5:00 a.m., when I get the current day’s post, so I did get the “early” version of it.

It was good to see that both our travelers, Anne and Charlotte wrote at the end of yesterday’s blog! Oh my, Anne, not a cold! It sounds interesting the things you have described, but I feel for you having to do everything with a cold! I hope you find aspirin or something to help you out. Then all the up and down hills you have to walk! But it is nice to hear that you made it to the UK safely!

Charlotte, I was wondering how you manage when going to someone’s house and they go to bed much earlier than you do! You go to bed when I am getting up! I hope the weather is good for you and you get to enjoy the company of your friends.

Oh, I almost forgot to answer the question, Jeanne! Well, since most of my dolls are in everyday outfits, shorts, and such, I do have two others, namely Kirsten and Josefina in pretty outfits that fit their stories. Kirsten is wearing her birthday outfit currently. Hers is the original Pleasant Company one, and is really still in good shape, despite the elastic on the sleeves being a tad bit loose. She looks so pretty and fresh in it!

Josefina is in her Riding outfit, the dress with ruffles on the bottom and a leather vest. She wears a wide brim straw hat too and her riding boots. That one is a favorite of mine for her. It’s not your “normal” doll dress, but one that can only belong to Josefina.

Let’s hope that others find that the blog is still the same for them!

    1. Hi Linda,
This was the only place to write so I’m writing this to Jeanne and all of you.
Jeanne, you’re brave to have to deal with what you’re going through on the internet. My Apple phone and anything related to the internet is as foreign as it can get to me. Yes, to keep in touch with family and friends is a blessing. Reading emails is great but honestly, scams and not so easy instructions drive me crazy. I often think some day I will through my computer and iPad and phone down a grinder! They make my blood pressure go up even if there are advantages to modern technology.

Pleasant things now- to answer Jeanne’s question today- my Caroline is wearing a Scottish black and white checked shawl and a tam o’ shanter made by a very dear friend! I love it and it represents my Scottish heritage. It’s so sweet of her to give the set to me.

I’ve been accessing the blog by typing “idre” in Search for a long time. Those are of course the first four letters of I Dream of Jeanne Marie. I move the ball in the “Save My Name” field to have the blog come automatically but it hasn’t worked. No problem really as my solution works. I’m sorry you are having such difficulties. It’s harrowing enough when a business isn’t dependent on access. Maybe Kristopher could help find a solution if this keeps up.

My favorite doll is RRFF Grace but with a blond bob wig and Jeanne’s Flapper Dress that I won. Maybe you could have everyone send a picture of their favorite sometime and use them for a post or two.

  3. Happy Wednesday,
On my computer, your blog looks the same.
all of the links on the right side work. I checked all of them.
Wordpress is being so annoying. I wish I could contact them and let them know they are being very difficult.
To your question, dear Jeanne, My favorite doll and her attire at present.
Most of my dolls are laying in boxes napping with their eyes closed. But they are safe. Felicity is wearing some dark purple overalls (hand made) and a white t-shirt. She has golden slip ons for shoes
Then my other Ag doll has on cargo shorts and a long sleeve plaid shirt and red sneakers. I have a giltter girl doll from Christina, my daughter, to use as a model for Lauren’s Glitter girl, and she is wearing a bathrobe and underpants. No shoes. I will go to the new house today and get them out of there and in some fresh air.
Every day I am moving stuff and every day…. it is getting scarier about how all of our beloved treasures will fit in the new house.
My new friend Sookie Spence had her presettlement walk through and shockingly she decided the house was too small for her, 2400 sq feet same as mine, so she cancelled settlement and it going to buy one of the single family homes right across the street (three levels with an elevator and a basement)
Huge 4000 sq ft home. The house is right next to the house of her sister.
So…. at the last builder’s gathering last month (or was it two months ago?) I complained a tiny bit about having to possibly rent storage for my estranged daughters things… (sad, I know) Sookie told me last week, “Rosemary, you can store your daughter’s things in my basement” She is a doll. I love my new neighbors.
I love my old neighbors here in Broadlands, but when you live in a retirement community, called Birchwood, the one nice thing is everyone is looking out for each other. So far all of my new neighbors are angels literally, blessings.
I will end here, encouraging all of you to find a little bit of sunshine and happiness.
Jeanne, you could think about “Substack” yes it is a huge change, but the learning curve is not too strenuous, and also there is a “chat section”
That is all a little bit over my head but I do read a few blogs on Substack
One, for example, is Rachel Labour https://stitchedincolor.substack.com/

I received two blog posts from Jeanne, as usual. One last night and one early this morning. Everything looks the same as usual to me. So, all is good except the adding photos part. Maybe that will happen soon. Hoping.
As to dolls around here, they are not happy with me as I haven’t had any time to even open recent acquisitions let alone change an outfit. There are a couple dressed in their undies though awaiting an outfit from the Sew Along. We’ll see how that goes.
More weeding accomplished yesterday and the weather has been so nice and cooperating. Neighbor’s cat has been quite helpful. That is if you don’t mind an unexpected pounce on what handful you are trying to yank out of the fast drying ground. 🙂
Heading back now to read yesterdays posts I hear are there from Anne and Charlotte.

I’m answering your questions from yesterday. I really don’t know the answers but now I’m curious.

Your blog looks exactly the same here. I have compassion for what you’re going through. I want things to work right, especially when I’m paying dearly for them. This whole situation is ridiculous, but then I guess you know that. If they are going to sell a product, they need to make it user friendly. Hoping all gets back to normal for you soon. You’ve done this a certain way for a long time. I have no idea why they think something else would work better. Especially when it doesn’t.

It was good hearing from Charlotte and Anne. Glad they arrived at their destinations safely. So sorry about Anne’s cold. A couple years ago when we went to visit my sister in West Virginia it was such a different climate from here I got a head cold that lasted for days. It was the beginning of our trip so when we got to Tennessee I was still under the weather for the rest of our vacation. I slept a lot. David said it was like being on vacation with Sleeping Beauty.

I had to leave for the chiropractor so I didn’t get to answer the question of the day. I could not pick just one at the moment so I’m picking the three (four if you count the twin dresses) I just finished. The two pinafore dresses for my RRFF Mini Hanna twins Jamie and Jodie have a basic dress in the tiniest green/navy plaid with short puff sleeves and a white collar. The pinafores are made from a piece of eyelet trim. Being so small the trim was the right size for the skirt of the pinafore. Another dress is one I made for Mini Bella (Brianna). Her dress has tiny pink and blue flowers with pink trim around the bottom of the skirt and two little pink bows at the waist. I just finished the one for my Mini Sara (Stevie Pilar). Her dress has green and blue flowers with blue satin ribbon at the waist with a blue bow with a pearl center and blue satin ribbon around the bottom of the skirt.

Everything looks the same to me as well, Jeanne. I received two posts which I believe started when things messed up on your end. The WordPress “I Dream of Jeanne Marie” and the Jeanne one. I tend to click the “I Dream…” Word Press one to get here. Except for your not be able to add photos it is all the same.

Happy to hear Charlotte and Anne both arrived safely. I hope you get over your cold soon, Anne. Those Cold Eeze lozenges really work if you find some.

As to the question, only two of my dolls are dressed in anything currently other than white underpinnings that I use when I don’t have time. Gilead (custom Nellie) is wearing Kirsten’s summer striper with straw hat and Milagros (Josefina) is wearing her summer riding dress with straw hat. I love the double bottom ruffle on the riding dress. Both girls are barefoot. Milagros’ dress and hat were given to me by my very dear friend. 🙂

Jeanne, my favorite doll of the moment is my new Meadow Angie. She is 11inch Dumpling size and has big blue eyes, red hair and has a sweet little pout. She is painted by Charlene. I have her dressed in a blue dress by Boneka with pink smocking at the neck. I love all my dolls, but Meadow’s are my favorites.

I went back and read about Charlotte and Ann’s beginnings of there trips. So sorry Ann has a cold, and i know how she feels walking up hill, being a flat lander myself. So glad Charlotte got some sleep. I went from GA to WA myself many many times as my younger son and his family lived there while my granddaughters were growing up.

I hope all will be fixed soon on the blog but we have had fun anyway.

My most recent AG is Adrienne Dumont, a former Z Yang who is now Metis, a member of a First Nations people descended from Native women who married or partnered with French voygeours. Many live near the Canada/USA border. I wanted a way of expressing solidarity with our neighbor and long-time ally, so I went to Maplelea for some Canada-themed clothes and to Etsy’s Bella Diva for custom Canada-themed tee shirts (I found pngs and the shop produced the shirts). Currently Adrienne is wearing Maplelea’s “bear hug” dress (blue, with a nice polar bear knitted in), coordinating blue tights, and fur trimmed boots. Be warned that the boots, which are purchased separately, require a lot of determination to get on because Maplelea dolls have longer, flatter feet than AG’s. 2 other pairs of Maplelea footwear were hopeless. Maplelea has since warned customers that they are holding US orders until they know how our tariffs will affect their prices.

Metis women bead. They and several tribes in the same area are known as “flower bead people,” because of the patterns they’ve developed. Search “Metis beadwork” on Etsy for examples. I did find Adrienne a pair of cutoffs decorated with beaded flowers (pretty primitive work, but cute).

When I was in the hospice 5 1/2 years ago, Jeanne made a slideshow of my JeanneMarie collection. If she can find it, that might give us another day of pictures when her computer allows it.

Jeanne, I’m sorry your web site it making you jump thru all these hoops; hope things straighten out, soon! I don’t much like change in things electronic either!!

As to your question, since I’m not at home, I will have to go from memory here, and maybe take/share some pictures after I get back.

Of my dressed-up dolls now, Molly is wearing a dress made from a pattern that reproduced a vintage child’s patter of the 1940s/50s, I think. It has a yoke and a pleated front/back that falls to the hem. It has the look of a coat-dress, but does not open all the way down. I had put it on Molly for our get-together with my friend Marika and her Annie a couple of months ago, so I think I do have a picture of her in my computer (or at least my camera) from that visit. Anyway, the fabric is a crayon blue background with flowers and bees; the other colors are red and white. It has a collar and short sleeves. I think the pattern was by Fancy Frocks, but I’m not sure about that. My Molly’s favorite color is red, so of course she is wearing red shoes with it!!

Anne, I’m sorry about your cold; hope you recover quckly!

June and I are having a nice time. We went “thrifting” today–I bought a sweatshirt, which I will probably convert to a jacket, and a book. Tomorrow we’re going to Frankenmuth so I can go to The Michigan Shoppe–I absolutely NEED more things with “Michigan” emblazoned on them!! 😂

  10. Anne Coldron in Christchurch NZ

Everything arrived as usual this morning, Jeanne. I hope you get the photo problem fixed soon. When you do I will send you some pictures.
My cold is pretty nearly gone, cough a little bit still and my nose runs a bit but mainly I seem to be over it.
We went over to see our sister yesterday. We were going to visit Amanda, Jan’s daughter, at home but she is in hospital so we visited her there. It was quite shocking to see her. I don’t think they know what is wrong, John thinks it is some kind of auto-immune issue. This time it was pancreatitis but it is only the latest in a long line of illnesses. My sister says her brain is shrinking. She struggles now to talk and we struggle to understand her because she slurs her words. As if being so ill wasn’t enough her (now ex) husband was particularly nasty about her being so ill. He made life hell and when she left turned everyone against her, including her daughters. The girls have come round now but the vindictiveness continues. Jeremy’s mother died and he told everyone that if she came to the funeral they weren’t to speak to her! Fortunately she was kept in hospital so it wasn’t a decision she had to make. I don’t know how the family square their behaviour with their Christian beliefs but presumably they justify it to themselves. It isn’t how I view Christianity anyway.
John is ‘potting’ again today. He is pretty good actually, currently he is making a covered bowl with a sculpture of a wren as the knob. Anyway it means going into the city again so I will wander again and look at the shops while he does his thing then I think I will have a restful afternoon, maybe watch some tennis.
    Have a good day
