HI everyone,
I found some time after dinner to answer your comments… just to let you know I still do that “occasionally” when I can find some spare time. I was kind of hoping to get outside and take some pictures of Rozen, but it was too windy and I didn’t want her hat flying off and then have to chase down her hat band, so I just played it safe and stayed inside for my pictures.
I just listed it on Ebay and hope you’ll take a peek! You can find it by clicking the picture at the right side-bar or you can click HERE.
I always hate to have a post without any pictures, so here’s just about the simpliest thing you could do for Easter. Make your favorite cookies without any nuts or chocolate chips in them… maybe just a good sugar cookie or a butter cookie or a snickerdoodle cookie… then decorate them like this using Easter colored M&M’s!
Aren’t they adorable? And most definitely delicious!!
I’ll see everyone tomorrow!
Blessings, Jeanne
Well, I see that Rozen’s outfit already has its first bid! Congratulations, Jeanne–that was fast!
Yes, those cookies do look good, and how clever to position M&Ms like that!
I am apparently expecting a package soon! I had forgotten that back in November I ordered Angela, and I got an email yesterday that she’s on the way! You know, the funny thing is, I had completely forgotten I’d ordered her! But…that was the third month after I lost Ron, and our pastor holds that the “thirds” (day, week, month, year) after a big loss are the hardest. He has been right so far. That third month was awful–I cried at the drop of a hat!
Completely understandable that you ordered Angela to soothe some pain. I hope you love her even more in person. β€οΈ
Oh, dear Charlotte, I am so glad you are getting a new doll! I know your missing Ron will always be there, but but between a new doll and your fun last week it will help. it is so nice to have this group of friends to share with.
Congrats on Angela. Selena, arrived here yesterday. π
God Bless you and hold you.
It is good to have friends and family very close.
A new dolly will be a sweet arrival
Firstly, before it flies out of my head this morning: Diana Jenness, My daughter and I text daily, I often state “I wish I had a magic wand” and she replies “I wish I could “teleport” – so I think meeting up together and having a great day would be doable with these useful …. oh so simple, offerings.
Secondly, so great you have the listing, this one will go very quickly. Jeanne, your ensembles are always bright and very attractive in comparison with many others I see on ebay.
Now… today I feel pretty beat up. Yesterday at noon, I went to the dentist and spent 5 hours there getting a bridge replaced. It looks fantastic. However the rest of my front teeth (I grew up on Europe and rarely saw a dentist) look pretty shabby. So, I would guess at least 6 more teeth are in great need of replacement. Amazing how they do this now. I have to admit, sitting in a chair for 5 hours was rather horrible, however Thank you God for giving me the gift and desire to sew and sew and sew. I got a lot of hand sewing done. I got about half a quilt bound, then worked on a english paper piecing project (I have made english paper piecing bits and machine appliqued them to quilts but never made an entire paper piecing project completely paper pieced, just so much hand sewing, even though I am proficient) So this project might be my first and last entire “EPP” project but it is ridiculously fun and tedious.
Today hubbs and i go to the pre dry wall “walk through” I will send Jeanne the things I worked on sitting in that dentist chair for 5 hours!!!! of my life….. not packing.
Happy Wednesday. Love, Rosemary
That does sound pretty terrible, 5 hours at the dentist. Ugh. But, thank God for good dental care. I donβt envy your packing but I would endure for a brand new house. How wonderful. π
Rosemary, you are wise to go with bridges etc. I had to lose two teeth and decided on an implant. it has taken over a year and I am still waiting for the final finish. I had a removable bridge for one tooth’s removable a few years ago, but my very straight teeth decided to move and that bridge no longer fit. That is why I decided to try the implant. I had good teeth for so long, but I guess I have my dad’s problem now. My mom never lost a tooth.
I am looking forward to seeing your photos!!
I didn’t live in Europe growing up but had little in the way of dental care. It just didn’t seem to be high on my parent’s priority list. Their idea of dental care was if you have an abscessed tooth, have it pulled. Do this enough and you could lose lot of teeth. Fortunately I was born with teeth like rocks so I didn’t do as poorly as my sisters. We were half-sisters and their dad and our mom did not have good teeth. I guess I got my teeth from my father. So when I got a job after high school the first thing I did was find a good dentist. My aunt had an amazing dentist and referred me to him. He was actually a dental surgeon and actually saved a couple teeth that I might have lost. Then I got a partial plate which I still have. David grew up with constant dental care and had all his teeth when I met him. But then he started taking BP medication and it ruined his teeth from dry mouth. We were not aware this could happen. He decided to go the implant route. Three plus years later it’s still not complete and the cost has been huge.
the cost is huge, I agree.
My parents were the same. find the cheapest dentist
and a new toothbrush maybe twice a year. funny/not funny
almost all of my teeth are either crowns, or implants.
They are expensive, but… we just cut back on other stuff. Both of us drive very old cars, and they are running okay.
As we get older, we do need to drink more and hydrate. It is annoying. drink pee drink pee all day. haha we have to do it.
Sorry about the long dental appointment, but how fun to do the walk through. Hope you check the electrical outlet placement. So important that they get it right. π
the walk through today was amazing. I am so excited…. but also freaking out. luckily we do not have to sell our house right away, we are really blessed and all the thanks are to my dear father, I miss him so, and he never told me, but showed me a cabinet that must be opened after he dies. Not before. So, after he passed away,
We opened the cabinet and he left us a huge trust. I was shocked to tears, and a little bit angry (grief) that my father did not let me tell him thank you for this generous gift for all of us. Still to this day I am just so shocked. we did not grow up wealthy, just middle class and actually he came from a very very poor family in Holland. He was very clever and became a CPA. Long story. So there is the house and the teeth.
The first thing I did this morning was to see if you were able to get your listing up. She looks great and there is already one bid! Looking forward to seeing who will be next!
Jeanne, thank you for your kind words yesterday. I love the idea of the cookies today and will try them. I make cookies once a week for our church’s free meal for the county. My neighbor helps with the dinner and takes the cookies there for me. I have never put M&M’s on them, do you put them on when you are cooking the cookies or after?
So glad to see Rozen’s outfit already having a bid. I am sure there will be more, just another darling outfit from you.
I will try to find some photos to share with you in case you need any.
Hi Sissy,
I’ve decorated cookies with M&M’s and I usually add them as soon as they come out of the oven and are cooling… have your sets ready to go so you won’t be searching for the right colors…
Yes, Sissy, these cookies are so cute. I really want to make some.
what a great plan to buy some m&ms too.
Oh, what clever cookies. Sending that pic to daughter so she and grands can try it out. Thanks so much.
My two boxes from Ruby Red arrived yesterday. As other person and I were heading to the other house, I saw the FedEx truck a couple of blocks away. After picking up milk and playing with Coco, the cat at the house, we headed home. As we were driving by and headed to the driveway, I saw the big white FedEx box sitting right in front of the door. I scampered out of the car and up the steps, but there was nowhere to hide that big double box. I pushed it to the side and stood there by the door trying to find my keys in a panic. I guess I really thought that I could hide the box with my legs, but nope. Other person spotted it immediately. But, since it has been a long time since he has discovered a delivery, there wasn’t much of a confrontation. π Brought the box inside and managed to open Selena a few minutes ago. She is pretty, but I haven’t seen her outfit yet. She does have sweet pearl earrings though. π I’ll have to open her partner later and get them both dressed.
We have rain today. I believe that LA has flash flood warnings, but shouldn’t be nearly as much coming down up here.
Now, heading back to yesterday, time traveler here, to read Jeanne’s comments. π
Joy, glad your boxes arrival turned out ok. I would love to see the dolls!
Those cookies look so yummy. I need to try them. I know my grandkids would love them – me too.
Glad to see you got Rozen’s ensemble listed on eBay. I’m sure you have another winner here.
Jeanne, regarding my cabinet drawers, they actually open all but four inches. The guides are not heavy enough to carry the weight of the drawer (which is the depth of the cabinet) fully opened. I think Ikea needs to do something about this. David and Sean have given the drawers a look-see to see what they can do but it’s low on their priority list at the moment. But the drawers in my new table are more interesting. They open from both sides of the table so they drop down some when you open them and when you push them back in you have to line them up with the face of the table. It would have been better to not have them open from both sides and do them like most drawers. I think the only way to get perfection these days is to design and make it yourself but since that was not gonna happen in my lifetime, I’ll manage. Otherwise I love my new set-up.
Well, for goodness sakes, where is my comment! I remember writing it, but maybe I forgot to send it! Whatever, those cookies look good enough to eat! π. Iβm going to try them and wonder if the M&Mβs are put on before putting g in the oven or after they come out. Sometimes they have the tendency to melt. Did you bake those cookies, Jeanne, or were they from a picture?
They will be perfect to bake along with my cakes and cupcakes for our fish fries. Our church is having one this Friday, and also supposed to be having tornado warning out! This should be interesting, since they fry the fish outside!
Did you get my pictures that I am pretty sure I sent? I may have not sent those too! π
Linda, if you try the cookies, let me know as to oven or later for the M&M’s. I am looking forward to your photos, as always!
Hi Linda,
I just mentioned above… bake the cookies first, then as soon as they come out of the oven, put your M&M bunny sets on the cookies as they are cooling. I didn’t do bunnies with M&M’s but I HAVE decorated cookies with M&M’s and that’s how I did it. They would melt if you put them on first.
Great Jeanne. I want to make some of these with my grand girls next week… or is it the week after? Anyway, I am excited to make them. Just plain old sugar cookie recipe I suppose. I am on those ingredients right now!!
Can’t wait to see the St Patrick’s Day pics.
If your fish fry has the weather we are having today, it would put out the bbq’s I’m sure. Pouring rain right now and we’re supposed to have lightning and thunder as well. And power outages too. Yikes.
Joy, I am watching on youtube the live feed from Friends of BigBearValley eagle nest. It is so windy and they parents are being pelted with sleet. They have three tiny eaglets about one week old. That tree is swinging and swaying wildly
