Hi everyone,
Thanks for all your kind compliments on this outfit. It is the first outfit in a LONG time that I have really, really loved… I mean loved enough to want to keep! But I won’t, I’ll let it go, so you can start bidding on it and put me out of my misery! :o)
I never imagined when I first cut out that skirt from a little girl’s skirt, that it would end up looking so adorable.
Then when I found the sweater to cut up, I felt like I could really turn this into a very pretty outfit…and I hope I did! I only wish there was SOME way to let you see it as I see it in person. It is VERY pretty and I’m hoping some sweet little doll’s momma buys it for her.
If you’d like to see the listing on Ebay, you can click the picture on the right side bar or you can click HERE.
I didn’t get anything else done today but getting this ready to be listed… Well, done in my sewing room… I DID do other things. I chatted with Kristoffer AND Rebecca this evening.
WooHOO… I just got a bid! Yippee!
I’m going to go work in my sewing room till 10:00 and then I’m going to bed…
Thanks everyone,
Blessings, Jeanne
I have a feeling that this outfit is going to get quite a few bids! Nice to have a first bid right off the bat, though!
I had a rough 24 hours Sun./Mon. (emotional, etc.) but slept well over 8 hours last night (which is really unusual for me–5-6 hours is my usual), and felt much better today. I actually got most of my Christmas shopping done! Well, it wasn’t too hard–four of the gifts were gift cards! Now I have to get the regular gifts wrapped and on their way to the two grands that live in Missouri!
Dear Charlotte, I am sending you good wishes. I hope you can spend the holidays with family and friends.
Everything is just perfect, Jeanne, as far as Lavender’s New Year outfit goes! I was wondering the why’s and wherefore’s of her being named “Lavender” though. Seems like a strange name for a doll, or really anyone! There seems to be a trend now for naming children after objects or things in nature, which seems strange to me. I guess I am just old fashioned!
I am the thick of cookie baking now, since I had a cold last week, so had to put it off. I much prefer decorating! While baking is good when it comes to eating what you bake, it always messes up the kitchen! Flour and powder sugar are everywhere!
So happy to see that Lavender’s outfit has a bid already!
If you check out the RRed archive at the RR site, when you see Lavender, I think her dress actually looks sort of Lavender. I have no idea where they come up with the names though. 🙂
Yes, now I remember! Thanks for mentioning that, Joy! Next thing you know we will have a doll named “Multi-color”, ” and “Stripes!”
Yes, I’m sure that is possible as there was one named Carnival. 🙂
3 bids now, Jeanne! And my Christmas outfits finally sold. I will send photos of them to you today if you need any thing for the blog. I am still trying to sell the Effner LD from MDCC. Too many expenses lately, house and dock wise.
Your outfit is one of the best yet! I can’t wait to see how it ends. I understand wanting to keep it. I save photos of mine, too, so at least you can still look at them.
Congrats on your recent sales. Hope we get to see the pics. And also wishing you luck on your Effner girl.
Now, on to some winter outfits? Then, St. Paddy’s and Valentine’s Day. 🙂
Joy, Valentine’s is so close to the end of January that I start those outfits after Christmas, or after we undecorate and leave for N. GA for 2 weeks. I always take my sewing machine and a couple of dolls and fabrics, ect. We are so quiet and relaxed there it is a good place to sew.
I will send my Christmas photos to Jeanne this evening.
perfect photo choices, Jeanne
Her outfit is going to sell in a jiffy. She sets it off so well.
I hope everyone is having a marvelous week.
So glad that Jeanne’s latest New Years Sparkle, outfit is doing so well. What a great way to finish out the year. 🙂
More leaf raking at the other house yesterday. Here, it looks like we may finally be done with the Sycamore leaves. Yay!
Guess that I should get on with the present wrapping for the grands. What? Only a week away until the big day. 🙂
Hi Jeanne, if you like it that much you could certainly make it over for yourself. The shoes would take a bit of time, but I believe you have more of the sweater, skirt, and tights material and could sew it over your Christmas sewing break rather quickly. Lavender would be pleased.
I assume this outfit closes out the year. Then it will be time for the usual slide show so that we can vote for our favorite top three and choose the “Outfit of the Year”. I think some dolls might be a bit miffed though that they haven’t been down from the dolly shelf once last year and some had multiple outfits.
Dear Jeanne, I love the outfit. She looks adorable. She will be a “standout” at the New Years Snowflake Party. Can we really be only 2 weeks away from 2025?
