    Merry Christmas to all!

Congratulations to Lorraine for winning those darling shoes/thigh highs! I would have loved them, but I know there would be several little girls fighting over who got to wear them first at this house, so it’s just as well someone else got them! 😂

Paula, my deepest sympathy on the loss of your dear brother. What a blessing to know for certain where he is now!

Thanks to all for sharing photos of your girls ready for the holidays. I have not had much energy to decorate or do much with my dolls this year–partly emotional, of course, but partly because, as Laura posted, quoting from my reply the previous day, I have been very sick. Today is the first day I’ve been dressed since last Friday! I managed a shower and got dishes done today, too, plus a load of wash. Still pretty weak, and careful with food, but I did enjoy a Madeleine (from Sugar Bowl Bakery–I get them at Costco) this evening, my first step beyond the most basic of foods! I’m even thinking about chocolate. Maybe tomorrow.

Glad to hear that you are now in recovery mode. And a Madeleine, it is. 🙂
Take it easy and watch an old movie on tv. Always fun I’ve found. 🙂

    2. Dear Charlotte, very glad to hear you are feeling better for Christmas. A Madeleine sounds good. Lebkuchen, marzipan, and tea are on the dessert fare of today.

Dear Charlotte, you remain in my prayers. May you be uplifted and comforted this holiday season. Hugs from me and Charlotte Noelle, Selah, Lila, Lili, Philly, Zu Zu, and Aletta (Little Darlings and Bonekas).

Charlotte glad you are feeling some better. It does take a while to get your strength back when you’ve been so ill. It’s good that you are on your feet. I always think that’s a good sign when I can stay up longer when I’ve been sick. I replied to your post on the taco soup the other day but you probably didn’t see it because I realized I was on the wrong day. So I’ll tell you again thanks so much for the recipe. I plan on making it soon. Hope you are feeling better every day.

Merry, merry Christmas to all! I had to read yesterday’s too this am as our day was
    so full.
It is so fun to wake up and see all the lovely doll photos from Linda, Susette, and Sylvia! What a fun Christmas time they all had, thank you ladies!

Paula, my older brother is 89 and I can imagine how you feel with your loss. I try to get together with mine as much as I can, you just never know when someone you love will be gone. God bless and keep you and bring comfort to you.

Charlotte, I am so sorry you have been so ill and am praying that on this beautiful day, you will be on the mend. Stomach flu is so awful. I remember times when I had it and I would think at least I am losing weight, but that didn’t see to happen!

Hope everyone finds peace and enjoyment on this special day. We’ll be heading out to visit grands. Looks like sun, so hopefully, we’ll get to see oldest grand riding his new electric bike.
Have a wonderful Christmas, Jeanne, and all of her readers.

  4. Merry Christmas Jeanne and to your family and Merry Christmas to all the wonderful Sofa Sisters.

Charlotte, I’m glad you are feeling better and starting to get back to things. Just take it easy.

How the holidays, especially Christmas, bring back the wonderful memories of past ones and how those holidays end up changing through out the years.. I always feel so sentimental during this time and miss the things from past Christmases that are no more. . However as the song says, “ Christmas – it’s the most wonderful time of the year.” And it is and always will be.

I want to thank all of you for your compassionate and uplifting words concerning the loss of my brother. He is no longer in pain and distress but now in eternal bliss.. I will miss him greatly – he was a good brother and person and I know I will see him again.,

Merry Christmas to all of you !

Had a great Christmas Day with son Sean and his family and son Jason and his fiancée Stephanie were there too. Granddaughter Jaiden kept reminding me she will be 13 on New Year’s Eve. She kept dropping hints that she’d like a trip to Hot Topic for her birthday so Dionne and I plan to meet at the mall for lunch and take her to shop. I’ve never been to the store but she really likes it so I’m curious to go. I checked out the website and they have a lot of nice stuff. I got her Christmas things from her wish list on Amazon but really enjoy shopping in person with her.

David and I went to church Christmas Eve. It’s such a beautiful service but it was long and there was a lot of standing which I seem to still be recovering from today. David and I are in the choir and we only sing for special services so that made it extra special. We left home at 5:45 p.m. for a 7:30 p.m. service. We had to be there early for rehearsal. The service started at 7:30 and ended after 9 p.m. then we had food and fellowship after and we didn’t get home till nearly 11 p.m. since we live about 45 minutes from the church. We were privy to an amazing light show on the way home since there were storms all around us. Fortunately we didn’t run into much rain on our way home but the skies let loose in full force once we were home. Definitely answered prayer because I do not like being on the road in the rain in the dark.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas Day. Tomorrow is my birthday and my gift to me is a day of sewing and then we will go to Cheesecake Factory in the evening. It’s my 78th this year. Where does the time go? LOL
