Ruby Red Fashion Friend, Sara, has been practicing her modeling…

BECAUSE… she knows very soon she’ll be showing the whole world her new dress set! She doesn’t take her job lightly! :o) Neither do I and I appreciate her being so willing to work with me and try things SO MANY TIMES before we sometimes get it right!

Let me show you how the “ensemble” (as Sara referred to it today!) is coming along.

I finished the tam from the dark chocolate brown corduroy and put a little band on it to hold it in place. Actually, Sara’s hair isn’t the best to wear a tam (as I will call it now) because she has that thick braid wrapping around her head. I didn’t try it on any of my other dolls, but I’m sure it will fit a little easier on a doll who has a regular wig. I’m not sure how it will fit on a doll with hair like Violette’s wild mane. Anyway, here it is… I may put a little brown button on top if I can find one the right shade of brown.

I didn’t line it because it was a lightweight corduroy.

Here are a few pictures of her dress again, (I moved her to the other side of my sewing room.)

Her leather purse was dry this morning so I was able to add the strap… but I forgot to take any pictures of it with it like a crossbody purse…oops!

A few of you mentioned having a yellow ribbon to tie in her hair… well, I had 2 choices of ribbon…

The second one was a little too yellow and a bit thicker, so I picked the first one. It goes really well… here I draped it over her shoulder just so you could see it against the jumper fabric…

Even though I couldn’t really tie it in her hair the right way, here is how the color looks… it’s a bit softer and goes with her top better…

Well, I hope you are happy with the way it’s turned out… it won’t be long now… till Sara will be modeling it. It rained most of the day and was windy, so no chance of outside pictures…

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Well, I think Sara’s outfit is just perfection. I’m not even a brown/orange person, and I love it! I don’t know that you could possibly add anything to make it more perfect, Jeanne.

    1. Hi Charlotte,
I’m glad even though you aren’t a brown person, this still appeals to you. Thanks so much!!

    1. Thank you Rosemary for your wonderful compliments! You have been such a great cheerleader for me!!

It’s all coming together. Sara looks great in the hat. Although, I would love to see one of those fancy bows I’ve seen with a clip for her hair that she can wear indoors. I wish I knew how to tie one. You see them a lot on Connie Lowe dolls. I think they can even be made from fabric rather than only ribbon.
And on to another deck day.

Dear Jeanne, she looks adorable. I was one of the “ribbon” people. I love that you are including one!

Sarah is the perfect model for this outfit. It goes so well with her coloring. I agree that the ribbon you chose is the better choice. Another outfit that has everything a girl could want. I love it!

    1. Thanks Barbara,
It’s fun when you have enough dolls you can pick different ones each time! Sara was my first RRFF so she’s kind of special!!

Oh my, Sara looks just plain adorable there, Jeanne! The colors work so well for her peaches and cream complexion and beautiful golden hair! I don’t think it could have been made any better than this!

You picked the perfect ribbon too! I don’t think I want my Sara to see this one! She is spoiled enough as it is! I do have clothes for her, not a lot, but some. RRFF are a bit taller than Betsy and Emmy, so a lot of their dresses are too short for her. She really is a fun doll to dress, and she always looks so sweet!

  6. Hi Linda,
I’m so glad you finally got your own Sara… she really is a sweet doll, isn’t she? It’s fun to see how much you are enjoying her.
    Thanks for your kind compliments…
    Blessings, Jeanne
