Surprise! Surprise! I wanted to get this listed on Ebay and I DID! My hubby had to go to town so I worked like crazy getting some outdoor pictures taken, culled, cropped and edited for Ebay! YAY ME!
Sara was happy to be outside and soak up the sun for a little while. It was a beautiful day…but a little breezy. I had to keep an eye on her when she was standing on her own because there were some strong gusts of wind.
Our Morning Glories are blooming like they never have before, and it was just too pretty of a background not to use them in some of my pictures.
You can click the picture at the right side bar to see the Ebay listing, or you can click HERE.
Here are some pictures I didn’t use in my listing. (all the ones on Ebay will be new!)
The pictures I took where Sara was in the shade somewhat were better than the ones in the bright sunlight. She looked a little washed out or one side of her face appeared shadowy!
Here is our Morning Glories bush! Isn’t it beautiful and my hubby said it’s almost in the shape of a heart! Awww! :o)
I wish my camera could capture just how blue the flowers really are. This one is pretty close, but not exactly!
I went all around my yard trying out the best places for pictures…
Well, if you haven’t see the auction, go back and check it out…
I’ll keep busy over the weekend and see you Monday!
Blessings, Jeanne
You got some really cute pictures of Sara, and I see her outfit already has one bid! I’m wondering if this is going to be one of those “race to the finish” auctions!
Your morning glories are beautiful! Out here in the Seattle area, they grow wiled and are considered a weed; I’ve only seen the white ones, not these intense colors.
I did comment on Barbara’s post yesterday, something having to do with Thanksgiving dinner. Also that I went ahead and ordered Angela (one of the new fan club dolls from RRFF), and since she doesn’t arrive until March, I will consider her my belated birthday present to me!
Happy weekend, everyone!
I’d have to see one, but the white ones may be bindweed — the flowers are smaller than morning glories (about quarter sized) and the leaves are narrower. The ones shown here are lavender

but I’ve only seen white. My brother’s neighbors were carefully nurturing them — the article explains why that’s not a winning idea.
Thanks for the info, Marilyn. Of course it’s the wrong time of year now, but next time they bloom, I’ll try to pay attention and see if that’s what they are. I’d always heard they were morning glories. Whatever they are, the ones out here are pure white, and the article said “pinkish white”. Thanks for looking it up for me!
I’ve never seen morning glories do that well — maybe because it’s drier here — also here today Sara would be waist-deep in snow. I especially liked the picture where she’s giving us a morning glory blossom — until I saw her sitting on the bricks, then that became my favorite.
The outfit is a great fall outfit — nice for Thanksgiving — and its new owner may have it then. You do such a lovely job of packing that whoever gets it is in for a double treat.
Hi Marilyn,
I had to take a quick minute here and tell you my hubby bought some packets of Morning Glories seeds for TEN CENTS on the 100 mile yard sale and these are THOSE flowers! I just love them… they are on both sides of the trellis!
I saw this morning where you were having some serious snow. Our daughter used to live in Arvada and when we visited we went through Raton Pass. That is now closed due to the weather. We actually went that way one year in March and ran into snow. We had to stay at a motel in Raton because the Pass was closed. We went a couple years to our daughter’s for Thanksgiving and had no weather issues. Colorado weather can be a surprise at any time of year it seems.
Sara is not going to be happy wish she has to give this up! I love the outdoor pictures, Jeanne, and what a darling set this one is! Yes, yesterday was very nice for taking photoβs, AND raking and blowing leaves! Thatβs what I was doing most of the day! Certainly we are not finished, but we did get to see the grass once again through most of the backyard! Today we finish up!
Oh my gosh, Marilyn, bindweed! I take care of our subdivision entrance, and can tell you that white bindweed is the bane of my existence!! It grows all over the shrubs every year, and when it rains, there is immediately a new crop of it to remove! Nothing deters it! We have had it for 53 years, and I fully expect it to still be here for another 53 years!
Jeanne, I love the outfit, of course, and the photos in the morning glories. I used to have some blue ones like that, but they grew up on a rose bush and had to go. I wish I still had some.
This outfit is going to sell quickly! I love it!!
The pictures are so sweet,
what a lovely sunny fall day!! Morning glories are beautiful. I enjoy them from afar because they climb like ivy… don’t they? I do not like ivy. ππππππ
Here we are, Friday again!!! I hope everyone is feeling a little more caught up after the time change. Wow, it gets dark very early now!!!
Yes, this will be a week-end of raking, and we have to bag ours bc that is the rule…. even though we have woods across the street, my neighbor does dump the leaves in the woods, and I reassured him that I am not a neighborhood tattletale so he can do what he wants and know that we do not care. Some rules are silly.
I hope every one of you had a delightful week-end
Dear Jeanne, Sara looks so sweet. I am glad you got work done so you could hang out with your husband and have some fun.
Happy November weekend to you and the Sofa Sisters.
Well, Sara’s, pics came out wonderful. My favorite is her sitting on the brick pile. Love the side lighting and how her head is slightly tilted. The Morning glories are a beautiful color, but like others have mentioned a nuisance as well. Now Bindweed, is really a problem. We have it, and like Linda, can’t get rid of it. Years ago I read that the stuff can travel underground for yards and then pop up again. Awful weed.
Had all my stuff together for the Bondo experience yesterday. Mixed the Bondo. Added the hardener. Mixed the two together with my putty knife. Thought I had made enough. Filled the hole. Needed more. Mixed more. Got it in the hole. Smoothed it off. Looked good. Took everything to the garage to clean my tools. Tried the recommended paint thinner. Did not work. Grabbed the lacquer thinner. Couldn’t get the lid off. Rummaged for a pair of plyers that would work for that size cap. Still couldn’t budge it. Took everything around the deck to the other end and got other person to stop painting for a minute. He was finally able to open the can. Yay. Back to the garage. Cleaned up my tools and the back of the pan I used to mix the Bondo. All done. Put everything away. Went back upstairs to wash the lacquer thinner off my hands. I had taken off the gloves I had on for the Bondo job before cleaning the tools. Bad move as now I smelled like thinner. While washing in the kitchen sink, I noticed that the hummingbird feeder was low.. Grabbed a chair and took it outside because I can’t reach the feeder any more because I put on an ant guard. Got the feeder down. Mixed the food and refilled the feeder. Repeat. Up on the chair, hang the feeder, bring the chair back inside, clean up the mess I made with the bird food. And done. I still smelled like thinner though. Ugh. Developed a headache from the stuff. Went outside to admire my work. I had asked other person earlier if he wanted me to put something around the patch area so he wouldn’t step in it. Nope, he could see it. Well, as I came outside, there he was standing on the big spot. I screamed. Looks like it has little divot marks from his shoes. He continued painting while I went inside to see if one can put Bondo on top of Bondo. Yes, you can. Came back out and walked to the patch to get a closer look at the damage. Other person was doing a beam. Looked down. I was walking in a now painted area. I had asked other person to not paint there. Go figure. So, from afar it didn’t look too bad, but couldn’t really tell until the paint dries and I can get closer. Fortunately, the paint was only tacky and I didn’t cause any damage. A couple of bozo’s painting around here. π Later, when the deck paint was dry, I got a closer look. Definitely, needs more Bondo to smooth out the patch, so this morning I’ll be doing a repeat of yesterday. But, when I went to get my pan and tools from the garage to be ready this morning, my putty knife was missing. It had just disappeared from where I left it in the pan. I knew I wasn’t crazy, and the only other person around was other person. Went up to the deck and asked if other person had taken my putty knife? Got a vague answer that he didn’t know. Checked out the tools on the bench. There was the red handled knife he has been using. Kept looking. There was my formerly clean putty knife. Grrr. Took the knife and cleaned it again and brought it inside for protection until I can get back out there this morning. I’ll have to put up a protective barrier around the spot this time. Sure hope I can finish that patch today. Sick of Bondo.
Hope everyone has a good weekend. We have possible rain coming in Sunday. We’ll be painting again today.
Sounds like a Laurel and Hardy comedy, Joy!π€£
Yes it does. But, we’re getting there on that deck re staining. Although, we’re going to need another trip to Home Depot for more stain probably later today. It certainly does not cover as much as stated on the can.
All I can say, Joy, is you definitely have more energy than I do – not to mention patience.
I about lost it when other person was standing in my Bondo patch, but I was able to do the second coat this morning. It’s dry now, so I’ll give it a sand in a few minutes. We’re trying desperately to get at least one full coat on the main deck before rain coming in maybe late tomorrow or Sunday and into next week. So, we’ll be off painting for a little bit. I did wash and dry the furniture this morning, so tomorrow morning when the 2nd coat under the overhang is dry, I can return most of the furniture there. Not sure what to do with the old vintage metal chairs I love though. After sitting out uncovered, they need a lot of attention. Maybe I can stuff them in the garage somewhere. They take up a lot of room. We’ll see. π I think we are both pretty tired of this project.
When I read your first comment, I was afraid you were going to say that Other Person was now Bondo’d to the deck!! Glad that didn’t happen, anyway.
Yes, things used to walk away here, too, although both Ron and Daniel knew better than to touch my good fabric shears! The penalty would be quite severe for that one!! π
Absolutely wonderful pictures. It was great you had such lovely weather for picture taking. Sara is definitely photogenic and appears to love the opportunity to pose. This adorable outfit came together very nicely.
I saw Charlotte and Joy’s comments on my Thanksgiving dilemma. We have a local family restaurant that will cater Thanksgiving dinner but that idea fell on deaf ears when I mentioned it to my hubby. He has a pellet grill and wants to smoke a turkey so i will let him do that. We will have sweet potatoes, stuffing, maybe mashed potatoes and he bakes wonderful pumpkin pies so I guess we’re good to go. I jokingly (not) told Sean yesterday that their leaving town for Thanksgiving could not be an every-year thing. He agreed.
That turkey sounds delicious. We’ve never smoked or barbecued a turkey. Actually, we don’t know what we’re doing either for turkey day. π
I love Morning Glories. We always raise the “Heavenly Blue” variety, but have had some others as well. If you want pure white, Pearly Gates is lovely. Sara’s outfit turned out so pretty.
