Did you guess Mae’s final piece to her outfit?

Hi everyone,
Thank you to the winner of the Ebay auction for the Ruby Red Fashion Friends set called, “Fall’s Final Fling!” I appreciate your very generous bid and hope you’ll love it!

Okay, I guess we need a drum roll or something as I show you the final piece for Mae’s Boysenberry set.

Did you guess a skirt? A romper? A pair of pants? A jumper?

If you guessed a jumper, you’d be right!

I didn’t want to cover up the blouse “too” much, so I left as much show around her face as I could.

Here you go…

You can see the length of the jumper when she lays down…

The back of the jumper is open all the way to the hem and closes with hidden snaps.

Well, do you like it?

It has a square neckline and there are 4 shiny black buttons on the bodice. They are hard to see in my pictures, but not so much in person.

Mae got into the Dolly Toy box and found what she wanted as her accessory… a black and white kitty…

This is my favorite picture of them all…

She’s holding her new friend pretty close!

Here are a few more…

Well, I know the drill… I was hoping to take some outside pictures of the Mae by the blooming Morning Glories, but the weather says a 40-85% chance of rain tomorrow… throughout the day… maybe I can squeeze in a few if I time it just right. I’ll do my best.

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Jeanne, this is exactly what I thought you would do, and the best thing too! O my, the colors just pop! I think that if I was the one who owned Mae, and made this for her, I could not bear to sell it! Just darling!!!
A kitty is perfect for Mae, and with the candy bar too, what’s not to like?

Maybe you will get some outdoor pictures in this morning, since the rain is coming this afternoon, at least here.

Congrats on that darling outfit you sold last night!

    1. Thank you Linda! I’m so glad it turned out like it did… I drew this little sketch of what I was hoping it would look like and it does! YAY!
I did get those outside pictures and so glad I hurried as it really poured just as we got inside.
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

I’ve always loved jumpers, so I’m glad that’s what you made for Mae. Sadly, I don’t have a doll like this, so I guess I won’t be bidding on this outfit. But it’s MY colors!!! Waaaah!!

Congrats on the successful auction of that last outfit, too. As I said, I’m not a “brown person” but I really loved that outfit, too.

I’ve been under the weather today–tummy issues–so have spent much of the day sleeping. Tonight I had some Lipton’s chicken noodle soup for supper, and I think I’m finally feeling a bit better than earlier today.

So, now the burning question: who’s next in your queue?!

    1. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Charlotte, I am sorry you are not feeling well. I am glad the soup seems to be helping. Charlotte Noelle, your namesake, says that hot cocoa and cookies should make you feel better. She says it always works for her.

    2. Sissy Lingle on the GA coast

Dear Charlotte, I believe you will be much better soon because you ate the right thing, Lipton’s chicken noodle! That has been my go to for a tummy problem since i was a kid. It is the best!

Charlotte, sorry you’ve been ill. Have you figured out the cause of the stomach troubles? Seems like you have had several episodes of an upset stomach. Maybe keep a food journal and see if you can find the cause? I know that pot luck foods often can be the cause, or foods left too long in the refrigerator. Around here, I’m a big fan of tossing anything after two days max. Maybe a visit to the doctor is in order? We want you strong and healthy. Take care please.

    4. HI Charlotte,
I’m so sorry you’ve been under the weather a bit… nothing stops you like a tummy ache… or a toe ache… Good thing you had Chicken Noodle Soup!

I’ve always loved jumpers too… yes, it’s definitely your colors!

Who’s next? I have NO idea! I better quickly decide and not let too much time pass before I get started.
      Thanks Charlotte,
      Take it easy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

Dear Jeanne, oh my goodness, I LOVE that outfit. Can you make one just like it for each of my dolls (smile)? I only have a few, maybe 150. There are people in my local club who have at least 1,000.

I bet if you do a poll again this December, this ensemble will be in the top 5 for loveliest outfit!

I’ve definitely entered the competition for that title. Every time I think I’m finished another doll comes out I can’t resist. I thought I was finished collecting the Little Darlings and then they came out with the Sculpt #5. I had to have her – and I love communing with Magalie. I would love to have one of the jointed Little Darlings but they are sadly above my price capability. As are the bigger Meadow dolls. I would love to have a Mae. She is absolutely precious. But I’m sure there will be dolls down the road I am able to add to my collection. I’ve stopped assuming I’m finished.

I was in a dolly Zoom gathering talking with someone in a different state. I asked her how many dolls she has. She said, “I stopped counting when I got to 5,000.” She may just be the winner.

        1. Yep, I think she’s the winner! Does she have pictures of her dolls? What did she do? Buy every single doll that ever came out?
          Blessings, Jeanne

    1. HI Dorothy,
The more I look at this set on Mae, the more “I” love it too! I think she looks so adorable in it and I don’t always think that’s the case with my doll dresses.

I have less than 25 dolls and I’d be going crazy if I had to make each of them a dress to stand in on the dolly shelf. Guess they’ll just have to stay nekkie! 1000 dolls? I can’t even imagine! I’ve seen “Allison Hernandez” show her doll room and she probably has at least 1000 or maybe even more… I don’t think I could manage that many. Anyway, I’m not a collector ( yeah, right :o)…) but a doll dress maker!

I hope you’re right about this dress being in the top 5 for the year. It really is very pretty in person…
      Thanks Dorothy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

      1. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Jeanne, you are talking about Allison Hernandez who has the YouTube Channel: MunecasPoupeesDolls. She is active with Modern Doll and with the Virtual Doll Convention.

She probably does have 1,000 dolls. That is definitely a ton of children to feed and clothe (smile).

  4. Good morning Happy Doll lovers,.
Mae’s outfit is super adorable. I love the jumper so much.
This entire set is so fancy and sweet. I love the sweet tuxie kitty – he really makes her outfit so special and elegant
    A jumper was perfect!!
Your photos are lovely. I hope you get a break in the rain, and perhaps a spot of brightness. Rain is arriving here tomorrow
    Enjoy the day

    1. Good morning to you Rosemary!
Thanks so much for your sweet compliments. I’m glad you like it!
I did get a quick session outside with Mae this morning and we got some good shots too! I wish I could get outside for every doll outfit I make. I love the natural lighting.
      Thanks so much Rosemary,
      Blessings, Jeanne

Dear Jeanne, I am not found of purple, but you have done it on this one. It is perfect on Mae and her new hair. The black accents are perfect with it and of course , the SHOES! This should fly with hits!

    1. Thank you so much Sissy!
I just listed it on Ebay so we’ll see! I hope you’re right!
I think Boysenberry has become my new favorite color. I think I might watch for something “my size” in Boysenberry!
      Thanks Sissy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

Congrats on the RRFF set. Way to go!
Oh lucky Mae. She’s all ready for Thanksgiving or any upcoming holiday party. I had to do some squinting to see the four buttons, but found them. Cute.
You know, Mae, can wear any color. Maybe she needs a sweet little red dress with white details that can be worn for the winter holidays and Valentine’s Day too. Perhaps, it might accompany a little white fur capelet. Can’t wait to see the next chosen model on the dolly turntable. 🙂
We managed to get caught up on the leaf detail at the other house yesterday. Blew the silver maple leaves off the roof and raked the back and front yards. Filled the yard can for pick up today so we’re set as the rain in coming in soon. 🙂

    1. HI Joy,
Glad you like Mae’s new Boysenberry set. She did too, until I had her take it off. She’s back in the nude in the Dolly cabinet.
A red dress dress with a little white furry capelet sounds wonderful, but I better do a few other dolls in between or I’ll have a mutiny on my hands.
I’m going to be very busy the next 2 weeks…

You guys sound like the busiest little beavers I’ve ever known… you are always doing something to make things prettier and better! :o)
      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

The jumper is absolutely perfect. I love jumpers and this one is so cute. I can’t see the buttons but will accept they are there. I just love, love, love this blouse and the shoes are too great. Maybe you could make a similar outfit for other dolls. I don’t have a Mae but I have nearly every other size. I forgot to mention yesterday I love her hairstyle and the ribbons are lovely. Such an adorable little girl.

I think we are supposed to get a Pacific front sometime today and maybe some rain tomorrow. But next week at this time we are expecting a Canadian front with some colder weather. Pacific fronts cool us down some and reduce our humidity but the Canadian fronts feel more like the season should feel.

    1. HI Barbara,
I DO have more of the boysenberry fabric and the corduroy so I could make something else… I don’t know who will be next… but I’ll try to decide quickly.
She is very sweet and I feel blessed every day to have her in my collection. Sometimes I still can’t believe it!
I think we are supposed to get more rain tomorrow, so I’m glad I was able to get her dress listed with some pictures from outside this morning.
Pretty soon it will be coat weather… :o( I’m not fond of the cold weather…
      Thanks Barbara,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Thanks so much, Christine,
I’m glad you like it! So far, everything I’ve tried on her has been pretty against her skin…
      Thanks again,
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Thank you, Gloria!
I’m glad you like it! She is a dream doll to sew for! We didn’t just blow off going to Penny’s… we just have too many things happening right now… I’m so sorry…
      Love you, Jeanne

    1. Thanks so much, Lisa,
Well, maybe not perfection, but I do appreciate the thought… I do try hard to make nice and pretty things and make them as excellently as I can…
      Appreciate your kind word!
      Blessings, Jeanne

    1. Thanks Conni,
I like Mae in this new wig too… she’s pretty versatile in what she can wear and what colors look good on her. I’m so glad I was able to get her.
Thanks for liking the new outfit!
      Blessings, Jeanne
