Day ONE of fun dolly things to see…

Hi everyone,

I forgot to remind everyone Mae’s (or any Moppet’s) dress set ends tonight on Ebay. You can see it by clicking the picture at the right side bar or you can click HERE.

I have the next 3 days lined up with fun pictures for you to see… (Since I’ll be visiting with my daughter, Rebecca and her hubby, Karn.)
We are planning on doing Christmas while she’s here, so I’m a little busy right now, but I still wanted to share some dolly things…

Today, is about Sissy and Theresa…

I bought some fun little pieces of corduroy fabric from Sissy. She was “selling” and I was “buying!” She may have more if you want to check with her… I love the tiny prints because they fit a variety of my dolls.

These are the prints I picked from her stash…

I can’t wait to see what “I” make for someone from them. :o)

She also had a couple of dresses for sale that fit the My Meadows Moppets (15″) dolls…

This was one… I think she still has this one… if you want to contact her in the comments below…

This was her second dress…

…and IT found a home!

I received this sweet email from Theresa…

Hi Jeanne,

I wanted to share with you a photo of my new cinnamon Mae, wearing her Thanksgiving outfit I got from Sissy Lingle! I have been a Peanuts fan for as long as I can remember – I even named my dogs Linus and Lucy – so this was just perfect! Funny, though, neither Linus nor Lucy are pictured on the fabric… but that’s okay, it’s still Peanuts. The striped stockings didn’t come with the outfit, but since I have no shoes for Mae yet, I left the stockings on her so her feet don’t get cold. I think you should make Moppet shoes to sell in your etsy store. I’d buy them in a minute! 🙂

Mae is a real darling, but I’m a bit disappointed with her factory face-up. Upper lashes are pretty short, and painted lower lashes are practically non-existent. Eyebrows are pretty skimpy, too. I can do some enhancements myself, but lashes and brows are too tedious for me, so I’ll probably send her head away for a decent face-up sometime in the future. She’s still pretty cute, though!

Well, that’s it for today… I’ll be back tomorrow with something from Elizabeth… that is a bit late, but never too late for dolly lovers.

See you,
Blessings, Jeanne

P.S. OOPS… I FORGOT to remind everyone Mae’s Boysenberry Dress set ends tonight on Ebay. You can click the picture at the right side bar or you can click the link I posted at the top…

I thought of Molly right away when I saw that cherry print fabric! So cute! I do see the corduroy that you made a romper for Mae a couple of weeks ago too! Such an array of pretty corduroy!

Oh, Sissy, those dresses are adorable! I love the one you still have for sale, but no one here to wear it. I love anything with gingerbread boys and girls on it!

Theresa, your little Mae is adorable, and looks so cute in that dress! What a lucky find for you!

Looking forward to more dolly pictures tomorrow!

Thank you, Linda! I wish you had some Meadow dolls, or even Effner Little Darlings. That is all I sew for.

    2. Theresa in Indiana

Thanks, Linda! I agree that Mae is adorable, and Sissy’s outfit was too perfect to pass up! If you ever do get a Meadowdoll, be warned, they are addictive. 🙂

  2. Oh gosh the corduroy fabrics are lovely.
I brought out my older daughter’s Samantha and her companion AG doll. Both the older versions of AG from the 80s. I need to delve into the dungeon (basement) and look around for the boxes of clothing. yesterday, I have video chat with my grand girls and they showed me their new dolls for perfect report cards. Sarah got Kit and Lauren got a glitter girls doll. Both of them are adorable. I am finishing up an english paper piecing project and packing it up to take with me on my Thanksgiving road trip.
I might try to make a few doll clothes. Dresses.
All of your dolls are beautiful Sissy

Thank you, Rosemary, I am really stuck on the Meadow dolls.

Nice that your grands like dolls and work hard to get them!!

  3. Joy in northern CA

How fun. Fabric and dollies. Can’t ask for more.
Jeanne’s corduroy from Sissy is lovely. I especially like the lighter blue/pink, third photo down on the right. That would be adorable as a jumper or romper for Mae. And the solid pink might be cute as a little jacket to keep her warm. Fun.
The Peanuts outfit that Sissy made is so adorable. Glad that it found a home with Theresa. I do like it with the striped socks too. Not being able to see Mae’s faceup really close up, she looks very sweet to me. Love her coloring.
Sissy’s gingerbread outfit is very cute too. I’m surprised that it hasn’t been snatched up already.
Another cold morning here. Had some more rain late yesterday, but it looks like sun for now anyway. Hope so, so other person can get back to working on the upper deck railing. I may have to pull out the Bondo once again as we do have quite a few bad spots. We’ll see.
I think that I have a package arriving from France maybe today. My requests for updates from USPS, have not made it to my email, so I have had to keep checking back to find it’s location. This morning, it looks close, but whether it makes it to the mail truck for delivery is unknown. Since this package will be coming with the regular mail, it will be impossible to hide. I may be in big trouble. 🙁

Wow, Joy, something from France! We all want to see! I hope you get it in without anyone seeing it!

I got two hits on my other outfit today, had to lower the price to get it. There is so much competition out there now.

Dear Jeanne, thanks for sharing the photos from Sissy and Theresa. Their girls look adorable. The Peanuts outfits are so sweet.

Here is an update on UFDC Convention locations:
    2025 – Norfolk, Virginia (July 22 – 26) – Registration is open now
2026 – New Orleans, LA – Registration probably won’t be open until Fall 2025
2027 – Chicago, Illinois – Registration probably won’t be open until Fall 2026

This was announced at a doll club Zoom gathering I attended yesterday.

Perhaps these locations are near some of the Sofa Sisters and they will be able to attend.

Dorothy, that convention in New Orleans might be a possibility for me. I’ll keep it in mind.

      1. Dorothy in PA and the World

Dear Barbara, oh it would be great if you could go! I love going to doll conventions. I love seeing the folks I know from Zoom and then making new friends. And, of course, there are the DOLLS!

I always love seeing Sissy’s creations. Sadly I don’t have a dolly daughter who can wear them. The Christmas outfit is adorable. I love all the dolls posing with the outfits and I think cinnamon Mae is very cute. I understand sometimes the factory face-ups leave something to be desired. I have that problem with my two Boneka girls, but I checked into having their faces redone and I think I’d rather spend the money on another doll. And my Bonekas do seem to photograph well. As for me doing anything to their faces, never in a lifetime. I can create but drawing has never been my strong suit, which is surprising because my mother used to draw us beautiful lady paper dolls and my youngest sister is amazing at drawing. But that talent seems to have passed me over.

I love all the fabrics you chose, Jeanne, and can’t wait to see what you create with them. How does one discover what Sissy has for sale? There is a saying that a girl can never have too many shoes. Well that’s definitely true around here but I go one better. Someone who likes to create with fabric can never ever have too much fabric so I’m always open to purchasing something I don’t have – and I have at times had so much I forgot what I bought and bought it again.

Looking forward to tomorrow’s dolly fun things to see.

As I posted the above there came a knock at my front door. It was my mail lady with a box for me. It was doll-sized but I knew I had no doll expected in the immediate offing. What could it be? I quickly opened the box and to my surprise and delight it was – MORE FABRIC. I love the site French Fashions because they have wonderful fabric in small prints especially for dolls and miniatures. I had an amazing time on their site the other day and probably spent more than I should have but giving it all a quick look-see I find I definitely made some wonderful choices.

      1. Barbara in SE Texas

Just one more comment. French Fashions has many pieces of Liberty of London Tana Lawn fabric in pieces one can actually afford to buy. I’ve used several of them and my dolly daughters say it makes them feel very special that their momma would buy such expensive fabric for their clothes. I think they were looking at the regular websites and I’m keeping them clueless.

  6. Susette from Southern California

The prints are all very nice for small dolls. The dresses are just darling! Lucky seamstress and buyers of those very special dresses!

  7. All the fabrics are very lovely. The rose print on blue looks very familiar. I think my mom or I have that in the fabric stash.
Absolutely darling dresses, Sissy. I love them both and your designs in general, especially the ones with hankies.. Congratulations on getting the Peanuts dress and pinafore, Theresa. We are big Peanuts fans here as well. I loved the comic strip as a child. My daughter borrowed the yearly books of the strips from the library when those came out. She also has a few pieces of room decor from childhood.

  8. Charlotte Trayer

Chiming in late because, as usual, I forgot to check for Jeanne’s blog on Sunday night before I went to bed!!

Loving all the beautiful corduroys. Of course, my favorite is the one on the left in the second picture! Big surprise: it’s lavender!! haha….

Sissy your dresses are, as always, gorgeous. Theresa, lucky you to have one of them! And your beautiful Mae! I just love her, and to me, the faceup wouldn’t be so disappointing because some young children just don’t have much in the way of eyebrows and lashes (that would be me….and I still don’t!).
