HI again everyone,
Rebecca and Karn are here and things are hopping around here. We’re doing Christmas this week, and I’ve got my posts all planned out so you won’t miss a day or a doll!
Today you’ll be seeing from Linda in St. Louis! We all know her dolly dress ups and her scenes are always so much fun. Let’s see what catches your eye that makes you zoom in on the picture! (Click on any picture and it will zoom in!)
This is what Linda shared with me about her pictures…
Jeanne, I know you are busy this week with company, so here are a couple of pictures you can use if you want. The first one shows the 40’s girls in the class Thanksgiving play, titled “ The Turkey Who Came to Dinner”! I used Kaya’s food, plus some of Josefina’s. Ruthie is wearing Felicity’s work dress, Molly is wearing Kaya’s meet outfit, and Susan is wearing a pilgrim outfit from some seller on Ebay.
The second picture is Sara and Betsy practicing for the annual talent show. That’s Molly’s bedroom in the scene. So nice that Sara already knows how to play the piano! Now I don’t have to pay for lessons!😊
Here are Cecile and Kirsten in their holiday finery! Cecile is wearing Claudie’s Harlem Renaissance outfit with a 20’s vibe, and Kirsten is wearing her work dress with the apron I made for her, to dress it up. They are admiring Cecile’s new dollhouse her father bought for her from his travels abroad. (Aren’t I the storyteller?) LOL
Felicity is all dressed up and going to town! That is actually Caroline’s outfit, but I like it on Felicity, and don’t have Caroline!
Love to you,
Linda💕
Awww… how sweet Linda… thanks so much!
Tomorrow, you’ll see “Day 4 of fun Dolly things from Charlotte! I completely missed her email to me and she has some new _______ to share. You’ll have to come back to see! :o)
See ya,
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh, what wonderful pictures Linda has shared–thank you so much!!
My favorite one is of Sara and Betsy practicing. Sara fits at the piano just perfectly, and it looks like Betsy is rehearsing her solo!
I also love that outfit on Felicity! Wish I’d thought to get it when we had our store here in our area!
Thank you, Charlotte! I like the picture of Sara and Betsy too, just wish the light was better, as it was getting dark out, and Molly’s room is down underneath a table, so it is hard to get good lighting down there, as well as GET down there! LOL As you can see, it is taken more from “up” than “down”!
I got Felicity”s outfit when we had a store in St. Louis, so couls actually see the outfits, and Caroline had some beautiful ones. I really do miss my store, since it helped me to really see the quality of things. Computer pictures are not quite the same thing!
I’m looking forward to Charlotte’s pictures tomorrow. Thank you for showing my pictures, Jeanne!
Linda, You always have such sweet photos of your girls. You are such a great dolly mom. I remember years ago I would dress mine all up for holidays. Maybe I can find some of those photos to share.
Oh yes, Sissy, ,we would love to see your photos of you dolls from years ago! Dolls never go out of style!
Thank you so much for the compliments!
Dear Linda, thanks for sharing your photos. Your children are having so much fun.
Thank you, Dorothy! Yes, my dolls have a life of pure fun all the time! They get to dress up, go skating, playing instruments, having birthday parties, and sleepovers, among other things! We should have it so good!
Jolies poupées et superbe mise en scène !Merci pour toutes ces belles photos. Amitiés à vous toutes et joyeux Noel ,pour Jeanne. Georgina.
Thank you, Georgina! I hope you have a wonderful holiday too, although I know you don’t celebrate Thanksgiving next week like we do here in the states.
Yesterday was full from morn to night, but I did get a look at the great photos. Elizabeth, you are amazing! You daughters are so blessed with these fabulous witches! I am so impressed, especially with the hands you created. Thank you for sharing!
Joy, praying for your weather, that it will stay away from you! Also glad you managed to get you box put away without notice.
Charlotte, I do hope your toe will get well soon. Toes can be so painful! I am looking forward to your photos tomorrow.
Jeanne,I know you are having a lovely time. Thank you for spending time with us, too.
I just finished 3 pillow covers for my DIL. She and my son will be here next week for Thanksgiving. Now I will have a “lovely” time clearing out the guest room of all my fabric, etc. We don’t have overnight company very often and everything piles up.
Know what you mean about the guest room situation. We never have overnight guests staying with us these days, even grandkids. If it is family staying overnight I give Sean and Dionne our bedroom and put the grandkids in the guest room among the overflow from my sewing/dolly room.
Beautiful pictures, Linda! Thanks for sharing! I especially like the piano one. It is the perfect size for your girls 🙂
Thank you, Karen! Sara is fitting in nicely and even playing the piano for us!
I wondered if Linda would send her wonderful doll scenes pictures! Yay! Linda, your girls look so pretty in their outfits. How clever that the girls are doing a Thanksgiving play, ( glad the turkey gets to be a visitor instead of the other ) and then the recital. It looks so life-like with that piano and the girls poised to play a song.
And Cecile and Susan look so pretty in their holiday dresses – love the decorations in the background. And I have to say Felicity looks lovely in Caroline’s outfit- it really sets off Felicity’s beautiful red hair.
Linda- I ended up getting a Molly bedroom too – I just love it – I decide I needed a second bed so two girls could share the bedroom. I planned on using it for the RRFF girls.
Thank you Jeanne and Linda for sharing!
And Jeanne, have a wonderful time with Rebecca and Karn celebrating an early Christmas!
Thank you, Paula! I wish I had room for another bed in Molly’s bedroom, but I have a wingback chair in the corner which is not in the picture that takes up room, so it is out of the question. Her friends just bring their own sleeping bag along if they are spending the night! I would love to see a picture of your Molly’s room. I bet the RRFF dolls would fit perfectly in it!
So fun to see dolly pics on this dreary day. Linda, has that great ability of being able to mix and match outfits on her girls. Love the Thanksgiving play picture. So nice to have it displayed for all of November, in my mind. And, I didn’t realize that Sara could play the piano so well. She and Betsy, will explode the stage when they perform their duet. I was trying to figure out where Linda had Molly’s bedroom staged. And under the table it is. Couldn’t figure out the pillars. 🙂 Who would have thought that an apron could dress up an outfit so much. Kirsten looks adorable and her hair too. Cecile, is the perfect hostess too. Love that adorable Christmas dollhouse that her father bought for her. Reminds me of Linda’s dollhouse all decorated for Christmas. 🙂
I really like Felicity in Caroline’s outfit. Never would have thought of it. A big thank you to Linda and Jeanne for the great photos today.
Here, it’s raining. Started around 3:00AM, but not too heavy yet. Guess to the north, there has really been heavy rain. Going to be pretty soggy around here.
Take care everyone.
Thank you Joy for your compliments! I’m happy to be bringing you a bit of cheer on this dreary day to you.
Yes, Olay’s bedroom is underneath the table that holds my dollhouse. Her kitchen is next to that, but out in the open, and they are out all the time. You should have seen my son’s face when he came home from college to see his former bedroom! No chance that he will be moving back from Colorado!🙂
Cecile’s dollhouse is actually a Dept. 56 building, from the Christmas collection. It is called Elsie’s Gingerbread, and lights up, plus has smoke come out of the chimney. I just got it for this exact purpose because it fit the desk/table so well, but I don’t think I will be playing around with the smoke!
I love Dept. 56 items and thanks for the idea for a dollhouse. I wondered where you got it. I have a log cabin that has smoke coming from the chimney. I don’t know how they do it, but it’s not real smoke.
They have some kind of solution that you pour in a little container, and light it, but I am not going to try that with the dolls so near.
Then again, your log cabins it might be one of those that use incense type with sticks or cones that you light. I have some of those too.
Yikes! I hadn’t heard of the kind your talking about. I sure wouldn’t take a chance either.
Loved the comment about your son. When daughter and husband spent the night some years ago, in her old room, I got “Oh, those eyes, staring!” 🙂
Your pictures are wonderful, Linda! So clear and focused. Love all the details in the Thanksgiving picture. You have a wonderful collection to choose from, especially the turkey. Not easy to find that item in the scale for the scenes.
The clothes always look so fresh and the colors so pretty. So many wonderful details. Love the ones with the piano. The apron you made is so elegant and looks like it could have come with Kirsten’s dress and it sure doesn’t look like a work dress anymore. The dress ties in with the color of the dollhouse too. You do have an eye for who wears what the best. The Caroline dress is perfect on Felicity. Her hair doesn’t look red in the picture. Thanks for sending the pictures.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving/Christmas, Jeanne and Family. 🌲🥰
Thank you, Susette! I have fun staging how I plan on setting up scenes, and for ma y years bought little things that I felt I could use for the dolls. Now I find I have more tha. I could ever need, but still keep an open eye on things that might be useful.
I love the apron I made for Kirsten too, and it has special significance, because I used the last piece of lace to trim it that I used when I made my daughter’s First Communion dress. It worked out beautifully!
I love this. I love the dolls and the scenes. So sweet. adorable outfits all of them.
Every girl looks so happy to be part of these perfectly arranged settings!
I love your dolls, Linda!
Thank you Rosemary! It is for people like you that I do this for, since I really have no friends living close by that have a hobby like mine. It is a welcome release from the everyday world. Dolls are a “fun” escape!
Oh Linda, I agree.
there are groups online, but even in Crowded Northern Virginia, I do not know anyone that plays with dolls. They are so sweet. I have 4 AG dolls. I am quickly making some zippy new clothes for my grand girls to bring at Thanksgiving. Sarah just got Kit and Lauren, is 6 and she got a Glitter Girl for starters. So, getting back into sewing clothes is a sweet break from making quilts and english paper piecing etc etc.
I just love your skilled and carefully lovely peek into these delightful scenes!!
Another winner for Linda. I always love seeing her scenes. I love posing my RRFF dolls at the pianos (they have an upright and a baby grand). Because they are articulated they look so real sitting at the pianos. I also have a baby grand for my Tiny Betsy and she can be posed also. I love that I can make them all look like they are using the pedals. Tell Ruthie, Molly and Susan to “break a leg”. I was amused at the name of the play and took it to mean the turkey was the dinner. I wish I could attend their play and Sara and Betsy’s concert. I know they will all do well. And yes, it is lovely that all our dolly children are already so talented there is no need for lessons – their instruments are pricey enough. Felicity looks absolutely lovely in her dressy outfit. I would have never suspected that Molly’s bedroom and the music room were underneath a table. What a great job of photography. I love the picture of Cecile and Kirsten as they await the arrival of Thanksgiving dinner. Great dollhouse idea.
Jeanne, I know you are having a lovely time with Rebecca and Karn. Will they be staying for Thanksgiving? I wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Thanks for all the pictures.
Thank you, Barbara! I am glad you enjoyed the pictures! So you have two pianos! What a grand time your dolls must have with music! I would love to see pictures of that! I too have lots of doll instruments, and plan on having a concert soon!
Aren’t you the one who puts up a Dept. 56 village in your dining room? I would love to see that! Mine stay up all year except for the one in my living room, since I have scenes set in bookshelves in our family room, and they add to the room’s decor. I can’t imagine setting up, then taking down every year!
Again, thank you for the compliments!
Yup, that’s me. And yes, it is somewhat of a chore these days to get it all done. I used to do it in a day but not so anymore because the bending to unbox them and place them does hurt my back. I’ll be interested to see if this year it’s better since I’ve been visiting the chiropractor frequently in the hope that it will. But I do have other set-ups during the year that provides some ambiance. They are my Thomas Kinkade village pieces and I have them on an antique table and a file cabinet next to my dining room table. Then I have two other random pieces I love that sit on my piano. One is a bookstore and the other a cafe and they are so detailed when you look in the windows. They move to a dresser in my bedroom during the Christmas holidays and are replaced with my Charles Dickens train depot and accessories. And I do have two doll pianos, both AG. I bought the upright from the AG store when it was here and the baby grand I found on eBay.
Dear Jeanne, Merry Christmas in November. I am so happy that the young people are there with you. I bet Reuben very excited to see them.
Dear Jeanne, Grrr! I forgot the “is” after Reuben. My 8th grade English teacher still sits on my shoulder (laugh).
