Day 2 of fun dolly things to see from Elizabeth!

HI everyone,
This is day 2 of showing what everyone likes to see on here… Dolly pictures. Here is some handiwork from Elizabeth. I hope you don’t mind that they are a bit late… Thanks Elizabeth!
These took some time, I can tell…

Jeanne….I wish I had sent these witch figures to you sooner….wanted to share with you this year’s witches who are standing in front of a haunted house fabric panel. I make three of a different witch or Halloween figure to give to each of my daughters.

Last year’s witch figure was fun…involved making Sculpy cats and a bat for each witch to hold! She was especially fun because I didn’t need to make hair and I loved her pointy hat. I use patterns downloaded from Dollmaker’s Journey and sometimes tweak them a little especially when I need to make three at one time! (Like sculpting heads and hands rather than stuffed fabric)

This was the 2022 Halloween figure…Baba Yaga. Her face and hands were stuffed, shaped fabric and her layered clothing and embellishments took some time! My daughters all display their collections of witches each year. Now I’m onto my Christmas snowmen and Santa Claus figures!

Well, that’s day 2 in the books…
See you tomorrow, when you’ll see some pictures from Linda and her “girls!”

Blessings, Jeanne

What a fun tradition, Elizabeth, to make each of your daughters the same figure so they will each have a complete “set”, so to speak. Oh, I do like the pointy hats on that second group, too. Reminds me of maybe one of the Disney fairytale movies, where some characters wore hats similar to that one!

I did add a comment to Monday’s blog tonight (I’m still up, so it’s still Monday! LOL), which I forgot to look at late Sunday before I went to bed.

Just a quick update: I definitely have an infection in my toe, and will see the doctor Wed. In the meantime, hot moist compresses, peroxide, Neosporin and bandaids. And trying to stay off my foot (yeah, right…).

So sorry about your infected toe. Wish you could see the doctor sooner. Do you know the site of the infection? When I do I use drawing salve on a band-aid. It usually cures it or keeps it from becoming worse. I learned that from my mother who was a nurse.

I can’t really see the toe well enough to tell exactly where the drainage is coming from, but I suspect under or near the nail, towards the right. The Neosporin does help draw the stuff out–I had more on the bandage this morning than I did on the last couple of them, so I’m hoping that’s a good indication. I suspect I’m in for a course of oral antibiotics, though. It’s really pretty uncomfortable at times.

We are in for an atmospheric river down here in northern CA. I think you will get a lot of rain as well. Take care and glad you have an appointment for your toe.

Thank you. We had rain and lots of high winds tonight! Many homes lost power, but, although my lights flickered a number of times, they stayed on, and now the worst seems to be over…until the next system hits!!

My goodness, Elizabeth, what talent you have! Your lucky daughters must have a wonderful collection of dolls that they will always treasure, mainly because of who made them!

I too, love the second group of dolls with the pointed hats, so contemporary looking and elegant. Your Sculpy cat figures are wonderful! Do you have an art background?

Jeanne, it always amazes me to see the talent of the people who are a part of the blog, and today is no exception! Thank you for showing them!

  3. Dear Charlotte, Good luck at the doc on Wednesday. I hope a recovery is quick and easy.

Elizabeth’s creations are absolutely incredible. These witches are absolute art pieces, masterpieces.
    Thank you for sharing them

Wow, what talent from Elizabeth, and her daughter’s are such lucky recipients.

Here, I had a very lucky delivery yesterday. We had been outside doing more deck work, and I came in to make lunch. Other person appeared too in the living room as the noon news/weather was on. I heard the familiar “thud” of the mailbox and thought, oh no. Other person was right there. I’m going to get caught. However, I jumped up and got to the door first. It appeared that other person did not hear anything. I opened the door and stepped outside over a large doll box and reached for the mailbox. As I did this, I used that swift kick maneuver and the box landed right under the bench. Ah ha. Took the mail from the box and headed back inside with other person never the wiser. A bit later, I was able to retrieve the box and usher it to it’s hiding place. Sofia, from France, is now home. 🙂

I did manage to paint one small section of railings on the deck yesterday. It’s so tedious. Thought I’d be able to get a lot more done, but it was just too darned cold. I had on three shirts too, which didn’t help a bit. So, for now, all deck work will stop. We’re in for an atmospheric river coming in tonight. We may end up with 8 inches of rain. Not what I would like all at once for sure. Heading up to get leaves off the roof at the other house this morning. Good thing I put new batteries in the flashlights yesterday as our PGE says to expect power outages. Ugh

Praying for your safety during your upcoming weather event. Will you be in the area of the bomb cyclone? Looks like California and several other states are in for a rough time.

Your guess on the weather is as good as mine. Probably some flooding in lowlands and at the river, which always floods. Not sure what to expect up here though. We did clear the roofs and street gutters this afternoon and got up all the leaves. I’m sure they will be back tonight when the rains begin and knock down more, but it looks nice right now. As long as we keep the drain in front of the garage clear, we are usually okay as the water can run around the house. Guess we’ll find out.

Wow, Elizabeth, you are amazing. I like the witches in the first picture with the haunted house behind them. So glad you sent the pictures to Jeanne so we can see what you’ve been talking about. Your daughters are truly blessed.
