HI everyone,
I managed to get everything finished for Ten Ping’s outfit and actually got it listed on Ebay this evening. You can click on the picture at the right side bar or you can click HERE!
I guess when a few of you asked/hoped for knickers, you got your wish… I was planning on making some, but just had to figure out how I was going to make them. I looked at quite a few online and decided to make them slim fitting around the waist and them “blossom” out a bit around the knee area. They were so small to make.. I hope they turned out okay.
Here are a few pictures of them… the “suspenders/straps” work just like they do with the skirt.
Then I decided to make ONE more piece… a purse. I only have a small piece of the “flocked” olive green leather, but it didn’t take much… It has a nickel inside to make it a bit weighty and hang better, so that gives you an idea how small it is. I also added a snap to the end of the one of the straps, and another snap on the back of the purse, so you can just snap it in place when you put it on your doll, instead of having to raise her arm up or have her step “into” it…
One last thing… two days ago when I had to go to town to mail something, I heard this little voice coming from the sewing room. I went back in there and it was Ten Ping calling out to me… She said she wished I could find something “green and sweet” to go with her outfit for the winner. I found something…
Well, I hope you like it.. I promise Ten Ping isn’t in the lineup for another dress set next week… (although I DO have those little red boots I just made…) I won’t… :o)
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
The bloomers really add some versatility to the outfit, and I just love her little purse! It’s just the right finishing touch.
I have a few pictures of my father wearing pants like that when he was a kid, like maybe 10 years old.
This outfit with the extra is so incredibly great, Jeanne! Welllll done!
The bag is so cute, Ten Ping could fit one “M” in there haha
This outfit will sell quickly. Someone will be very happy. Ten Ping looks thrilled to show her versatile fashion!
….. and again, those shoes… oh my, and matching bag!!
Happy Thursday everyone. Sunny and “fresh” here in Northern Virginia
Oh, the knickers are perfect. Just what I imagined for Ten. A perfect outfit for her.
The woodpecker is BACK! Although the patch/paint job looks great. First peck, other person was out climbing the ladder and chasing it away so only just a rub. I understand that they peck at things in the spring when looking for a mate, but guess this one has it’s dates crossed. Have no idea how we can hang reflective things way up there except by hanging them from the roof gutters. I’m sure they would just blow off anyway. We’ll be on guard today. 🙂 The high winds start tonight, so maybe he’ll get blown in a new direction hopefully. 🙂
The bloomers are perfect. Not too puffy or full, but so cute. The only thing I would have preferred is reversing the material for the blouse and skirt/bloomers. The tweed look fabric looks more like a regular wool tweed for pants but that’s just me. I’m disappointed that sounds like there isn’t going to be any more olive green flocked items. I was hoping for more shoes.
Have a great day all.
Yay!! Knickers!! Too cute. I looked on Magalie Dawson’s website to see if she had any knickers patterns for small dolls but the smallest size she has is for the Ann Estelle dolls. With not much of a jumping off point yours are wonderful, Jeanne. I love the purse. This is a totally cute outfit and should have many bidders.
It was 51 this morning here. Did not make it into the 40s as predicted but compared to the usual 78 in the morning this is quite a reprieve. It’s supposed to be in the 70s today. Yesterday I think the high was 75 and it didn’t last long before the temps started dropping toward evening. Unfortunately at this time of year it’s a roller coaster ride and Sunday it’s supposed to be heating up again. We not supposed to see rain until sometime the last week of the month.
Dear Jeanne, Awww, she is so cute. When I saw her in the knickers set with the apple hat, I thought, hmmm, put a newspaper in her hand and I can hear her saying, “Extra, Extra!” That is, of course, meaning all of the extra things that come with the ensemble.
I hope both you and George are feeling much better.
The knickers are really cute. We have a photo of my grandfather wearing them back in the 20s. I had the same thought as Dorothy when I saw the knickers and newsboy cap. She needs a newspaper. We have a photo of my grandfather wearing them back in the 20s. I’m not surprised the dolls in the cabinet are miffed. I know there are some we haven’t seen this year or maybe even last. Maybe you don’t have them anymore.
We got our first freeze last night. This weekend will be Indian Summer. One of my favorite ties of the year.
When I lived in PA we used to love Indian Summer. It came after we had experienced colder weather and it was like a reprieve before the arrival of winter.
Jeanne, I have a photo of my daddy wearing knickers, dressed to go play golf in the 1930’s! He probably wore them as a child as well.
I really love Ten’s outfit, every bit of it. Your efforts shine again!
Praying for a complete recovery for both of you soon.
