I wrote down the names several of you gave me… Autumn Moon, Pretty in Pink, Pink Almonds, and October Musing, but I had already decided to use October in my title since this was my kick off dress for October. By the time I added Ruby Red Fashion Friends along with Galleria, (for Ruby Red Galleria), and then added Ten Ping and Mini Sara, to the Title listing on Ebay, I was out of letters… so I just went with October Charm. I couldn’t think of anything shorter than Charm… so I just had room for Dress, Set and 8″. That was it… but I wrote down those titles you gave me and want to use them soon. I’m thinking Autumn Moon needs something orange or yellowish, and October Musing needs something with leaves all around. (Just me thinking out loud!) Thank you for your suggestions.
I managed to get outside and take a few pictures of Ten Ping in her dress set. I thought the pictures would be wonderful since it was a bit cloudy, but it turns out, the sky must have been too gray because many of my pictures were too washed out and Ten Ping looked like a ghost in them. So I only used the better ones in my listing.
If you’d like to see the listing, you can click the picture at the right side bar or you can click HERE.
Getting Ten Ping’s dress listed wasn’t the only highlight of the day… Henny Penny #16 (that’s what I’ve been calling her) was up and about today, walking slowly on her foot, but walking, nonetheless. I took some pictures of the hens with Ten Ping by the coop. They were quite curious… as you’ll see…
If you click on any picture, it will enlarge.
You can also see Henny Penny #16 in the pictures below. My hubby put a loose orange band on her foot.
Well, I had a productive day…gave my hubby a haircut, gathered up the trash/recyclables, and got Ten Ping’s dress listed. Hope you had a nice day too… but prayers still, for all those dealing with water, wind, mud, cleanup, power outages, and many other obstacles.
I will see you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
I’m sorry I missed your post yesterday. Since I no longer get that other/second email (which came in at 1a.m. my time) with your blog in it, I often seem to miss the Monday’s post until very late at night, and that’s what happened again last night. Usually I leave your email in my inbox so I won’t forget to click on it the next night, but of course you don’t send them out late Sat./early Sun., so it’s easy for me to forget the Sun. night/early Mon. post.
Anyway, I do love Ten Ping’s outfit, particularly the pink boots and her little hat, both of which add so much to her outfit! I love her thigh-highs, too; they look nice and warm. The embellishment you added to her jacket is just perfect, repeating the design of the dress so well.
Did you know that Almond Roca is made out here in the Pacific Northwest? It is, down in Tacoma! I love the stuff!!
So glad to see that #16 is doing much better, Jeanne! Is she wearing a ring around her leg? I remember my grandmother having chickens with various plastic rings around their legs, and wonder why she did that. Maybe to distinguish between them?
The pictures of Ten Ping sitting there right outside the fence watching the chickens, (or maybe the chickens watching her), is cute! She looks so TINY there! Or maybe they are giant chickens! I am thinking that she is glad there is a fence between them and her!!
Excuse me,Henny Penny! I didn’t realize you had a a name, and called you #16! It won’t happen again!
This is an adorable ensemble TenPing is wearing. it will sell in a jiffy.
I love the photos of her that you put on the listing.
She looks content to be near the chickens, I do not detect any angst or horror
from either party. I love #16s new band on her leg. She looks proud to have it, a badge of bravery.
Happy Tuesday every one. Time flies
Oh no! The Attack of the Giant Chickens~!!! See it soon at your local theatre. Little Ten looks like she’s cowering in her seat at the movies as the birds advance. So funny. Glad to see that #16 has a pink leg band. Now, we’ll always know her, the “star” of the production, when the band of ferrous poultry begin gathering for their next advance. BEWARE!!
Yesterday, was just plain hot here. Today is predicted even hotter. Then, hot until next Monday. That deck isn’t going to change at all until the hotness goes away.
Stay cool everyone.
So sorry some of you are having such very hot weather, and praying that it doesn’t cause more fires in CA, Joy!
We had a yard full of workers today, including Peyton and me. We are both exhausted! Part of the huge limb is still there until our guy gets a new chain for his chainsaw. Still praying for those people in such terrible trouble from this storm.
That is great to hear that you have some workers helping with the clean up. That is a huge oak limb. Keeping it for firewood? 🙂 Just kidding. I’m sure you don’t need it.
So many messes to clean up after the storm. Looks like it will take years to rebuild. And the lives lost keeps climbing as well. Just horrific.
I loved Joy’s comment on the giant chickens. Reminds me of some of the sci-fi movies I watched as a kid before all the CGI. Would make for a great photo shoot if you could find a way to get the chickens and Ten Ping together without creating a real horror movie.
So glad Henny Penny is doing better. She is so brave. I would love to know the story of her adventure, but I guess she doesn’t want to relive it so she’s not talking.
I was watching a weather channel yesterday and they were in Asheville, NC. It was so sad. David and I used to be involved with a local theater group and the woman who headed it retired and moved to Asheville. Her husband had passed away but she remembered how much they loved their visits to Asheville so she decided to retire there. That was many years ago so she most likely didn’t live to see this. It would have broken her heart.
Dear Barbara, oh my goodness, you were involved in theatre, how wonderful! What did you do? Act? Sing? Direct? Were you in a drama club in high school?
Glad you asked LOL. I think I’m obsessed with performing, Dorothy. I mostly have satisfied my love of performing by singing but have done some plays when we had our “Little Country Theater” group here. Unfortunately we have nothing in regard to theater here at the moment and David and I don’t have the time or energy these days to start one ourselves. It is a lot of work managing a theater group and all the people who were involved when we were have passed away since it was several years ago. One of the plays we did involved my daughter and myself as actors, David as director and our son as stage hand and lighting person (he was in middle school at the time). He also, wearing a horrible mask, was in the final scene where the crazy brother (he had been hit in the head with an axe years ago but survived) was forced to reveal himself when the lighthouse tower where he was living collapsed. David did a lot of the scenery and the debris from the collapsed lighthouse falling into the living room was one of his most amazing. But when he built a set it was built to last and he was always out of town on a job when it came time to strike the set. The people stuck with the job of dissecting his efforts always said never again. No I did not do theater in high school for two reasons, when we lived in Bethlehem I had to pick up my two younger sisters at the babysitter after school so my mother could save an hour on the fee so anything extracurricular was out. But I did belong to the drama club so I did usher for the performances including some for the professional theater in town. Then we moved to Wilmington, DE, for my senior year and I could not even try out for plays because the person who ran the drama club, which I did belong to, was also the speech teacher and if you didn’t take speech from him in 10th grade you didn’t get to try out for plays. Which obviously I didn’t do since I wasn’t even there. David did a lot of plays in high school and he did more than I did for the LCT since I handled things at home in the evenings when the kids were small while he went to rehearsal. But the apple does not fall far from the tree in this family. Both my daughter and son took dancing while growing up (and I took adult dance classes while they did) and Sean loved doing musical theater in local productions. He was in “Fame” and “Footloose” and was great. Andrea was in theater in high school and in her junior year took best actress at District, Area and State – Regionals went to Juliet because Romeo won best actor. Andrea’s senior year she took best actress at all four levels. It was pretty amazing. She has a theater degree and is actually on imdb.com as Andrea Rabold. It needs to be updated but I don’t think her husband wants her to so I may. They both have theater degrees but I think he’s the reason she has not done more with hers. He’s done nothing with his. Probably TMI but it gave me a chance to reminisce.
Dear Barbara, that is amazing! I am so proud of you. You definitely have the “greasepaint” in your blood. I hope you will find your way back on stage again soon.
I have been watching Helene on the weather news on YouTube, similar results to Cyclone Gabrielle here in January. It didn’t affect us here in the south, but the North and East of the North Island was devastated. Some of the worst damage was caused by ‘slash’. That is all the leftover stuff from logging which came down the hillsides and destroyed everything in its path especially roads and bridges, then compounded the problem by jamming the rivers and causing more flooding. The devastation I am seeing breaks my heart. I have said a few times to people that given a choice between earthquakes flood and fire give me an earthquake any time. Here anyway, where we have a lot of regulations around building because of our shaky islands. And at least you know I know what I am talking about since I lived through over 30,000 of them! We’ll keep praying for all who are affected.
Jeanne, Ten Ping’s outfit is lovely I am sure it will be a winner. I am so glad that Henny Penny is on the mend. hopefully she will have learned her lesson.
I have been very busy over the last few weeks. It is our bi-annual Patchwork and Quilting exhibition next week and I decided to finish a quilt I had started for my foster granddaughter as a wedding quilt. (It’s a very complicated relationship). I had made this quilt pattern before, it is an asymmetric sampler style quilt with pieced blocks and applique blocks and I hand embroidered all the applique but had the quilt professionally quilted that time. This time, having upgraded my sewing machine, I did all the embroidery by machine and adapted the pattern so it was Quilt as You Go. Am I perfectly happy with the result? No! Did I learn a lot for next time? Definitely! Will Sasha love it (and, I hope Nardus, too)? Absolutely and that is all that matters. I will send a photo once I see it hung. I’ll try and get a photo of the back so you can see what I did.
Kia Kaha (stay strong) everyone and take care.
Oh yes, please send Jeanne a pic of the finished quilt. I’m sure it is amazing.
I’d really love to see your quilt. I have a lot of those quilt-as-you-go patterns and I have an embroidery machine so I love to see what others have done figuring maybe it will inspire me to try my hand at some of that.
Dear Jeanne, Ten Ping is adorable no matter what you call the ensemble. I am looking forward to your pick for the next model.
