Ten Ping wasn’t the only one! I was thrilled too! I have had so many things on my plate lately and it was just nice to be in my sewing room doing what I love to do most… create sweet little outfits for dolls! I hope you like what I did for Ten Ping! I did make some changes…
Where to start…
First of all, I looked at the pictures of Ten Ping’s shoes and decided the black trim used along the edges was too dark, so I looked in my stash of “started” shoes/boots and found this pair of rose colored leather boots. They are made from a VERY soft leather and are a bit slouchy but I think they look better than the brown and black shoes…
I also made a pair of cream colored Thigh Highs to wear with the boots.
Next, I shortened the dress about 3/8th of an inch… and it looks better…She’s so tiny and it did seem a bit long.
For her jacket, I embroidered some sweet flowers to match the fabric… then I sewed some tiny brown buttons on the other side.
I also made a sweet hat from the same wool felt as her jacket… then I added a band of the dress fabric around the crown.
Now let’s see it all together…
Ten Ping’s a cutie, isn’t she?
I also found the perfect sweet treat that matches the set PERFECTLY!
Looks like I need a name for this set… so I can get it listed!
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
Oh, this is absolutely the most darling set you have made for Ten Ping, Jeanne! I am oohing and ahhing over each picture!
The little boots, are just perfect, and I like the pink much better than the brown/black. You always seem to find the right things to add from your stash! I also love those knit thigh highs, they look so fallish!
The jacket! Oh how darling that turned out! Such a wonderful embellishment, and so tiny to do! I wasn’t expecting much for that, but this knocks it out of the box! The felt hat with the scallops just hits the spot! What’s not to like? Anybody with a Ten Ping or similar sized doll will find this outfit hard to resist!
As to all who asked about my friend in .South Carolina, she did briefly get back with me to say they are safe, but their area is a mess, and the National Guard was working on their street at the time she wrote, clearing fallen trees and debris. They do not have power, and no idea when it will come back. As far as I know, they don’t have a generator, so this will be challenging for them. I just hope they can somehow get to his dialysis treatment sometime soon. She has a strict list of what he can eat and drink, but with no refrigeration, this will be difficult. Prayers for them would be appreciated.
I’m glad Linda lives two hours earlier by Time Zone from where I live. She writes everything and better than I would, so I’m left with little to say. So I second Linda’s Comments. Ten Ping looks perfect in her new ensemble, boots, hat and all. You’ve done it again, Jeanne!
Well, little Ten looks like she is ready to take a walk to the market to pick up some items for her mother. They’re having an outdoor fall party for friends this evening. Everyone always look forward to the occasion. So, I guess I’d call the outfit Autumn Moon. 🙂
I hope Linda’s friend has the power returned soon. It appears to be such a mess everywhere in the storm’s path. So many homes damaged or submersed and the death toll keeps rising. Helene, appears to be one of the worst storms in years.
I love the dress and the jacket. the tights are superb and the shoes are sweet!
She looks really sweet
I hope everyone had a great week-end
I agree with Susette, Linda nailed it, Jeanne, it makes me go online and buy a Ten Ping! I am afraid our funds will be paying for tree and roof damage for awhile. BUT we have power as of last night and our house is safe except for missing shingles.
I have seen photos of Asheville and other areas of NC and my heart almost stopped. I have never seen such devastation! In some photos all you can see are roofs and water! All the roads are torn up so much that I don’t know how help can reach them. We feel so blessed here. We lost a huge limb from the live oak and a neighbors tree limb fell on our wonderful huge dog wood and demolished all but 2 small branches of it. However, when I realize what so many others are facing such terrible devastation I just thank God that we are so blessed and pray for those others.
Such a cute little outfit for Ten Ping or the RRFF Minis (including them should increase the bidding war). I liked the other shoes, but the boots are actually perfect for the outfit.
So much devastation from Helene. It makes me realize how much we actually dodged a bullet with Beryl. We are watching things closely here because something can form in the Gulf at any time this time of year. We hold our breath until the end of November. Many prayers for those who have suffered so much from Helene’s wrath. I read this morning where the storm surge totally destroyed one small Florida town but the people had evacuated.
One thing about hurricanes, unlike earthquakes and tornadoes, you know they are coming for days and it’s hard for me to understand why so many ignore the warnings, but you see it around here a lot. We have certain areas, especially near the Brazos River, that are sure to flood and yet people won’t leave. The police even patrol the areas for as long as they can to prevent looting to hopefully encourage people to leave. But there have been many times when people are forced to their second floors or rooftops awaiting rescue by boat. But the route of hurricanes can be unpredictable even at the last minute. I can’t remember which hurricane it was, maybe Rita, they evacuated the Texas coast but they evacuated them north toward Dallas assuming the hurricane would move toward Louisiana and the storm surge would be the problem, which it definitely was. They should have been evacuating people west toward San Antonio because they ended up evacuating them right into the path of the hurricane effects when it shifted and came onshore close to the Texas-Mexico border and ended up affecting the evacuation route.
So glad to hear that Sissy is faring well and will keep praying for Linda’s friends in South Carolina. We have friends in Myrtle Beach that David keeps in touch with. I’ll have to ask if he’s heard from them.
Dear Jeanne, Ten Ping looks adorable.
Hmmm, a title. The first one that comes to mind is “Pretty In Pink” but I am guessing you have already used that one.
The second one is “Pink Almonds” for the candy you will be including.
The third is “October Musing.” She looks like she is contemplating Autumn, what to dress as for Halloween, how to decorate for Thanksgiving, what Santa will bring her, as she has been super nice.
A big congratulations on your blue ribbon, Dorothy!! You must be so thrilled. I’m looking forward to seeing pictures of your brother and sister .
Dear Laura, thank you for your sweet words. My little dollies made me proud.
What a sweet little outfit. Ten Ping will be warm and stylish for any autumn outing.
Glad to hear your friend is at least safe, Linda. Prayers her husband can get to his appointment soon.
