A look at the “New” Tinker Bell doll…

Well, don’t get your hopes up…it’s still the same doll, with the same BIG EYES, just with a little help in the hair department. I decided to take her hair down from that high pony tail to see if it was even possible to get some curls happening! I shampooed it and combed it out and then sort of scrunched it to see if it in fact had any curl to it. It DID… pretty nice curls too.

I know it’s a bit BIG looking right now, but it’s still a bit damp… and I’ve even felt a few hard spots in it, so I might end up washing it again. I just really wanted to see if I might be able to do some pig tails or short braids without her scalp being too bare. I am still working on her bangs too… they may need to be trimmed, but I’m waiting to see what I think tomorrow.

Here is the “full body” look! :o)

For her debut dress, I wanted to make something that matched her eyes… even though they REALLY don’t need much attention, but I picked a sweet vintage aqua and pretty blue floral fabric and I’m making a dress with some double ruffled sleeves.

I will probably make it shorter and put some pantalettes underneath.

I really didn’t think I was going to start on this, but I decided I wanted to see what she looked like in a cute dress! :o)

Stay tuned to see what happens on the dress next!
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

This is funny, but my comment for today is in yesterday’s blog! I must be going senile!! It is at the very end, and I wrote on it thinking that I was commenting on today’s blog. I always read the bolg from the day before to see if there is anything new since I last saw it. So sorry!

At first I thought, “I didn’t see it!”and went back and checked three times! Then I reloaded the blog, and there was your comment! Oh, well…as my grandma used to say, 50 years from now, what difference will it make?!!

First of all, thank you everyone for all your anniversary greetings for us. Last summer/early fall, it didn’t look like Ron would make it even to Christmas, and the doctor was talking about putting him on hospice care. Then he ordered some physical therapy for Ron to help strengthen his legs, and that combined with the good care he’s getting at the adult family home, and he rallied quite a bit. So here we are!

Karen, thanks for the update on your growing family! I’m glad to hear your pregnancy is going well.

Jeanne, your Tinker Bell’s hair looks so much better now! It’s nice and fluffy and curly–and I imagine much easier and more fun to style. She really is much cuter than I first thought!!

Her new dress is going to be lovely, too. I think that fabric is well-suited to her.

I’m here early as I have a kitty at the vet for a dental cleaning and extraction and need to keep checking my email for updates as to when he can come home.
Congratulations again on your 50th wedding anniversary, Charlotte. It sounds like Ron and you had a lovely day.
I’m happy to know things are going smoothly for you, Karen. Congratulations on your soon to be baby boy.
Tinker Bell’s hair is really nice, so fluffy and curly. That fabric is good color choice.

I’m also so very sorry to hear about Kathy’s husband. How sad for their children. Prayers for the Lord’s comfort.

Not so sold on the new hair style as I really liked Tink’s original. Seems like way too many curls. Maybe I’ll get used to it. The pony tails might be fun too. I am glad that she has a full wig as so many dolls end up with a bald spot in back if a pony tail is removed.
I’m having trouble visualizing the outfit. Not sure how those long pieces work, but I’m sure we’ll see tomorrow. I was thinking of more of a baby doll style for Tink that hit above the waist and was gathered. Definitely much shorter and maybe with just little panties sticking out below so her knees would show. I’m sure the outfit will be pleasing though with Jeanne’s touch.
Sorry for being so grumpy, but another night fighting what I thought was allergies. Now, I’m thinking it may be something more. Like a virus. Drat.
Jeanne, please tell George, that other person got the tomato plants into the ground yesterday. I’m sure those George has will be miles high by now. 🙂

Me too, but I was looking today and found several very cute sets that were longer and with pantalettes and looked cute on Mae. Can’t wait to see what Jeanne is making.

I’ve never been a big fan of Tinkerbell so I do like her hair. Actually if you check you will see that she looks a lot like the Animator Cinderella now. But with what you’ve done to wash it, etc., it looks like several hair styles might work for her, including her usual one.

I too was thinking of a style like Joy mentioned, maybe with a pinafore. But I’m waiting to see what happens next with the dress.

I failed to mention yesterday how sorry I was to hear about Kathie’s husband. I still miss her comments on the blog. I will be praying for her family.
