YAY! I was able to get my dolls listed on Ebay… and I took Dorothy L’s advice and listed them separately. I know that feeling when you want ONE of something, but already have, or don’t need the OTHER something… It was just as easy to list the dolls separately and since I mentioned I would combine shipping if someone wanted both dolls, it worked out well.
My dark brown #25 doll sold this morning, so now if these last two dolls will sell, I might be finished with selling dolls for a while… or maybe not… I do have my eye on one but she is bit expensive so I’m trying to decide IF I really want to buy her.
If you want to see Julie and the Strawberry Blonde doll on Ebay, you can click on their pictures at the right side bar or your can click HERE and HERE to be taken to the listings.
Now it’s time for some OTHER dollies! Barbara was a bit late at getting her dolls dressed up in their Easter dresses, but does that matter to US??? ABSOLUTLEY NOT! So enjoy her wonderful pictures as she narrates them…
Two of my Little Darlings, Amelia Dawn and Greer Adele, in their look-a-like coat outfits. I made Greer Adele’s turquoise outfit awhile back but Amelia Dawn’s purple outfit is new. Of course they wanted to have their picture taken together. I made Greer Adele’s hat from a pattern for a boater using plastic canvas. I bought Amelia Dawn’s hat and embellished it. David says it looks like a fancy sombrero.
Amelia Dawn and Greer Adele again with their coats and hats off. They wanted to make sure everyone saw their coordinating dresses. A little history on this pattern. I bought it from a woman in Russia back when the Russian shops were still on Etsy. I had a few things I still wanted to get in my “buy later” list but when I tried to buy them the shop was gone. Recently I happened to be searching Etsy for something and recognized some of the patterns I had. I looked at the shop and it was under a different name (Monalusia). I emailed the owner and asked her if she was the same person. She was. She has moved to Italy in order to sell her patterns.
Betsy McCall and her cousin Linda in their official Betsy McCall outfits. Don’t they look lovely?
Siblies Sydney and Bailey. I did not make these dresses but I thought they looked so cute in them with their sandals that I had to share.
These are my first three L’il Dreamers. I love these dolls. From left to right they are Ashlynn, Evianna and Alora. Their outfits were designed by Magalie Dawson.
This is my latest L’il Dreamer. Her name is Jovi. She was irresistible when I saw her picture. I rewigged her with long hair but kept to the same color hair she came in. I just wanted her to have a more casual hairdo. Her other wig was very formal – and very top heavy. I made her dress using a Boneka pattern. As well as being dressed for Easter she is also participating in the Mayday Festival as May Queen hence the floral wreath on her head.
This is Nina Ballerina, another Li’l Dreamer doll. She is rehearsing for her performance in the park. Right now this is the sole extent of her wardrobe. Really need to get going on providing her with something else.
And finally, my two Boneka dolls, Charlotte and Mary-Ellen. The little lass sitting on the park bench is Mini Sara (aka Stevie Pilar) wearing a dress I made from a pattern by Kathy Anne Designs.
The backdrop is one of several I have been buying from a place in China. They are actually fabric and the bottom of the backdrop extends to become the floor. This particular one could have used a longer floor and I could have asked for that but I didn’t realize I’d need it. It worked fine but I had to pay attention to where I placed things. It also made it easier to stand the dolls since the floor looks like grass but it is flat. These backdrops are made for 16″ dolls like Ellowyne and I can’t wait to get mine so I can try them out with her.
Hopefully this gives you another filler while your hand is healing.
Thanks,
Barbara
Thank YOU Barbara! Your dolls are all so pretty and we enjoyed them as much today as we would have around Easter. Thanks so much for sharing!
See everyone tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne
First of all, congrats are in order, Jeanne; I see that Julie has sold, leaving just the little strawberry-blond girl to go! There are going to be some happy people opening packages in the next few days!
Barbara, thank you so much for sharing pictures of your lovely dolls. I just love the two coat outfits; will try to remember to look for Monalusia patterns on Etsy next time I’m looking around there!
Betsy and Linda are so sweet in their pretty dresses, and I agree, Bailey and Sidney to look cute in those outfits.
I loved seeing your LIl Dreamers. I think my favorite of their outfits is the dress that Alora is wearing–of course, it Is pale lavender! I love her shoes, too!! Yes, Nina would love to have a different outfit to wear, I’m sure!!
And last of all, you mini Sara (I love her dress!) and your little Boneka girls. Such fun!! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Charlotte, for your lovely comments. I love Alora’s dress too.
All the dresses are pretty but that one definitely appeals to me the most. I have the pattern for the one Ashlynn is wearing but making all those “petals” would be time consuming so I haven’t made it yet. I love Sara’s dress too. The pattern also has a pinafore. I plan to make that version soon.
Barbara, I loved your Easter outfits and the others as well. Thank you so much for sharing. I was tickled by your “Nina Ballerina” because the only childhood doll I have that survived our attic is the Madam Alexander doll I got when I was 11 years old. She has red hair and was named Nina Ballerina.
You are a wonderful seamstress! I loved seeing all the clothes you have made, and the fabulous hats! Thank you so much for sharing!
Jeanne, so happy for you that you have been able to sell some things while waiting for your thumb to heal. I know how frustrated you must be during this time. I got a shot on my back on Tuesday and am still waiting to see if it will help. It seems as if it will, but I have had to rest for the last couple of days. We will see.
Thanks, Sissy. My sister had a Nina Ballerina doll by Madam Alexander. Hers had dark hair. It was a beautiful doll. So glad you still have yours. Hope your back starts feeling better.
Congrats, Jeanne, on selling Julie so quickly! You certainly have had no trouble at all selling the dolls who have patronized the Jeanne Marie Salon!
What a treat to see your beautiful dolls and their outfits, Barbara! The coat sets are just adorable! I have a “thing” for coats, and have quite a few, but those are just perfect! The dresses are adorable too, and match so well!
Betsy’s dress, looks so familiar to me! I have been looking for her Robert Tonner “Going to Linda’s Party” dress, which is a smocked dress in pink, and I think that must be it. I love, love, love that dress, as I do love smocked dresses! Where did you find it?
Yes, Sydney and Bailey look so cute in their sundresses! It looks like the same pattern was used for both.
Your first group of Lil Dreamers look like a flower arrangement, with their lacey and ruffled dresses! Jovi is beautifully dressed too, in her delicate pink outfit,…. my, you are an excellent seamstress!
Nina makes a beautiful little ballerina, and I love those darling ruffled dresses on Charlotte and Mary-Ellen! But the absolute “star” of that photo is little mini Sara! She is the cutest thing, and wow, you made that darling dress? Such a tiny dress that makes a big impression! Thank you for sending those pictures!
Thanks, Linda. I have a thing for coats too and had I stayed living in the northeast I would probably have a ton of them. But coats here in Texas are a waste of money since they would be worn so rarely. I have one that I don’t even wear once a year. I have some lovely sweaters but probably wear them once a year if I’m lucky. Being a fall and winter person, I struggle with what I want to buy and what it makes sense to buy. Yes I believe Betsy’s dress is “Going to Linda’s Party”. I bought it on e-bay a few months ago when a woman was clearing out all her Betsy McCall items, including Barbara and Linda dolls and some of their clothes. I think I bought up everything she was selling because now Betsy’s wardrobe consists mostly of official Betsy items. I gave the clothes I made for her to her cousin Barbara. I love Sara’s dress too.
That’s great you sold your doll, Jeanne! Hopefully the others will sell soon, too.
It is so fun to see your dolls, Barbara! The pictures are beautiful. You are a great sewer!
Thanks, Karen. Glad you enjoyed the pictures. When I finally got around to taking them it was fun.
Congrats to Jeanne on her dolly sales. Yay. Her work has paid off and someone will be very happy to have these dolls.
Wow, what a wonderful display of dolls by Barbara. Love the background and props. Thanks so much for sharing because I keep finding so many great details. A feast for the eyes. I’m still laughing about your husbands comment on the fab Easter hat. A fancy sombrero. Really. I think he and other person here have about the same tastes. I was thinking about trying that boater hat. Was it difficult? I’ve made a few plastic canvas things, but nothing complicated. I want to check out the patterns by the Russian lady now in Italy. Love that pattern on your LDs. Both girls look so sweet dressed in their Easter finery. I really enjoyed seeing Betsy and Linda. Very sweet girls. The ones around here haven’t been getting much attention lately. Bad me. I love Sydney and Bailey’s dresses and cute sandals. Perfect outfits for them. The L’il Dreamers are so sweet. The Jovi here is waving. 🙂 What a special ending to see your Boneka’s and little Sara together. That dress you made for her is lovely. So many fun things to see in your great photos, Barbara. Thanks again for letting us see your delightful dollies. 🙂
Thanks, Joy. David’s comment about the sombrero made me think for a minute that maybe I should take off the lace but then I started thinking about the hats women wear to things like the Kentucky Derby and to things in Britain and I went for it. The only problem I had with the boater hat was making sure the crown and brim were the right size so that sewing the parts together would work out right. I made more than one of these and sometimes I had to cut the parts again. Never could figure out what worked one time and not the other but in the end it got done. I’ve done a lot of fancy plastic canvas but the boater doesn’t require anything but basic stitches. Dream20aDolls was the former name of Monalusia. I have several of her patterns. She does the bodices as one piece and you have to add the seams when you cut out the pattern. But the patterns are easy to sew and always come out great. My Jovi says hi to your Jovi and hopes to see pictures of her someday. I love Sara’s dress too.
Excellent work on these TLC dolls Jeanne and great success with your sales!
Loved seeing your dolls Barbara. I know we share the same interest in Little Darlings by Magalie and the Boneka dolls. I have not purchased any Little Dreamer dolls because I have several Madame Alexander Lissy dolls of that size. The Easter outfits are charming and will carry you through the spring season. Probably starting to feel like summer in Texas!
Thanks, Debbie. Yes I love my Little Darlings and they always look so wonderful in whatever they’re wearing. I would love to have my Boneka dolls faces redone since they always look so washed out but when I check the prices I give up on that idea. Unlike Jeanne I hesitate to try it myself. You have several Lissy dolls?! I love those dolls but only have two. But I can’t find patterns or clothes for them or even patterns for other dolls that fit them. I’ve tried a couple like those for the 12″‘ Shirley Temple doll but they require some adjustments and without Shirley’s measurements I can’t really see what to adjust. Unfortunately it’s starting to feel a little too much like summer here in southeast Texas. Wish it would hold off a while longer.
Good job Jeanne in already selling Julie. Julie is one of my favorite AG dolls but since I don’t collect the 18″ dolls I settled on a Mini of her- and Molly. I’m sure the pretty little strawberry blonde will not be far behind.
Thanks everyone for the wonderful comments on my pictures and creations. It wouldn’t be as much fun If I weren’t able to share with my sofa sisters. Not to mention that my dolly girls love the photo shoots and clamor to be part of them.
So many commented on Sara’s dress that I saved my comments for everyone. I love, love, love that dress. Usually I am my own worst critic and sometimes after I make something I second guess myself that maybe I could have done better or different. But I have loved Sara’s dress from the first time I put it on her. Not only did she look darling in it, but the dress was perfect. The tiny gingham fabric came from my favorite fabric shop on eBay FrenchFashions. They specialize in small scale fabrics especially for doll clothes. The fabric is very lightweight and offhand I can’t think of what to call it. It has somewhat the texture of Liberty Lawn but is not. My hubby still can’t believe I found such a small-scale gingham for the dress. Sara has been sitting on my coffee table since her arrival several months ago and has been wearing this dress pretty much since then. After the photo shoot she went back to standing on my coffee table. Soon I will probably have to make her something new as she is noticing that others have several changes of clothes. I wondered how long I could keep that from her. But I do have other patterns for her thanks to Kathy Anne Designs.
Thanks a bunch, Jeanne, for posting my pictures.
I forgot to mention that the Siblies’ dresses are from BeachGirlDollClothes on Etsy. They also have dresses for RRFF, Paola Reina and Wellies.
